Edomité a Amonci se zatím vydali vzhůru a utábořili se v horách naproti Dotanu. Část z nich poslali na jih a na východ naproti Egrebelu, který leží poblíž Chusu u potoka Mochmur. Zbytek asyrského vojska tábořil na pláni a pokrýval celý povrch země. Jejich stany a zásoby se táhly do všech stran; bylo jich obrovské množství.
