"It was bad enough that Judah rebelled against God by trusting Egypt instead of trusting Jehovah, and depending on money instead of on God's power, but they even went so far as to completely reject the Word of God (vv. 8-11). God told Isaiah to make a placard that said, "This is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD" (v. 9).
