4:1  And Isboseth the son of Saul heard that Abner was slain in Hebron: and his hands were weakened, and all Israel was troubled.

4:2  Saulův syn měl dva muže, velitele houfů; jeden se jmenoval Baana a druhý Rekáb. Byli to synové Rimóna Beerótského z Benjamínovců; Beerót se totiž také počítá k Benjamínovi.

4:5  And the sons of Remmon the Berothite, Rechab and Baana coming, went into the house of Isboseth in the heat of the day: and he was sleeping upon his bed at noon. And the doorkeeper of the house, who was cleansing wheat, was fallen asleep.

4:5  And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went, and came about the heat of the day to the house of Ish–bosheth, who lay on a bed at noon.

4:5  Synové Rimóna Beerótského, Rekáb a Baana, přišli za denního horka do Íš-bóšetova domu. Ten ležel za poledne na lůžku.

4:5  Synové Rimona Beerotského, Rechab a Baana, se vypravili do Iš-bošetova domu. Dorazili tam kolem poledne, v době, kdy kvůli horku odpočíval.

4:5  Synové Rimóna Beerótského, Rekáb a Baana, šli a za denního žáru vešli do Íš–bóšetova domu. Ten ⌈ležel za poledne na posteli.⌉

4:5  A odšedše synové Remmona Berotského, Rechab a Baana, vešli o poledni do domu Izbozetova. On pak spal na lůžku poledním.

4:6  And they entered into the house secretly taking ears of corn, and Rechab and Baana his brother stabbed him in the groin, and fled away.

4:7  For when they came into the house, he was sleeping upon his bed in a parlour, and they struck him and killed him and taking away his head they went off by the way of the wilderness, walking all night.

4:7  Když totiž vešli do domu, on ležel na svém lehátku ve své ložnici. Ubili ho k smrti a uřízli mu hlavu; vzali ji a šli celou noc pustinou.

4:7  Když totiž vnikli do domu, spal na lůžku ve své ložnici. Ubodali ho k smrti, uřízli mu hlavu a šli s ní celou noc přes pláň Arava,

4:7  Když vešli do domu, ležel na své posteli v ložnici. Bili ho, až ho usmrtili, a srazili mu hlavu. Pak jeho hlavu vzali a šli celou noc Arabou.

4:7  For when they came into the house, he lay on his bed in his bed-chamber, and they smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him, and took his head, and went away through the plain all night.

4:8  And they brought the head of Isboseth to David to Hebron: and they said to the king: Behold the head of Isboseth the son of Saul thy enemy who sought thy life: and the Lord hath revenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.

4:8  And they brought the head of Ish–bosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ish–bosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, which sought thy life; and the Lord hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.

4:8  Íš-bóšetovu hlavu donesli Davidovi do Chebrónu. Řekli králi: „Tu je hlava Íš-bóšeta, syna tvého nepřítele Saula, který ti ukládal o život. Hospodin dopřál králi, mému pánu, dnešního dne pomstu nad Saulem i nad jeho potomstvem.“

4:8  až ji přinesli k Davidovi do Hebronu. „Zde je hlava Iš-bošeta, syna Saulova, tvého nepřítele, který ti usiloval o život,“ oznámili králi. „Hospodin dnes našemu pánu a králi dopřál pomstu nad Saulem a jeho potomstvem.“

4:8  Přinesli Íš–bóšetovu hlavu Davidovi do Chebrónu a řekli králi: Zde je hlava Íš–bóšeta, syna Saula, tvého nepřítele, který ⌈usiloval o tvůj život.⌉ Hospodin dal dnes mému pánu a králi pomstu nad Saulem a jeho potomstvem.

4:8  I přinesli hlavu Izbozetovu k Davidovi do Hebronu a řekli králi: Aj, hlava Izbozeta syna Saulova, nepřítele tvého, kterýž hledal bezživotí tvého. Hle, pomstil dnes Hospodin pána mého krále nad Saulem i semenem jeho.

4:8  And they brought the head of Ish-bosheth to David to Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ish-bosheth the son of Saul thy enemy, who sought thy life; and the LORD hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul and of his seed.

4:8  They brought the head of Ishbosheth to David to Hebron, and said to the king, "Behold, the head of Ishbosheth, the son of Saul, your enemy, who sought your life! The Lord has avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed."

4:8  et attulerunt caput Isboseth ad David in Hebron : dixeruntque ad regem : Ecce caput Isboseth filii Saul inimici tui, qui quærebat animam tuam : et dedit Dominus domino meo regi ultionem hodie de Saul, et de semine ejus.

4:9  But David answered Rechab, and Baana his brother, the sons of Remmon the Berothite, and said to them: As the Lord liveth, who hath delivered my soul out of all distress,

4:9  David odpověděl Rekábovi a jeho bratru Baanovi, synům Rimóna Beerótského, slovy: „Jakože živ je Hospodin, který vykoupil můj život ze všeho soužení,

4:9  David na to Rechabovi a jeho bratru Baanovi, synům Rimona Beerotského, řekl: „Jakože je živ Hospodin, který mě vykoupil z každého soužení:

4:9  David promluvil k Rekábovi a jeho bratru Baanovi, synovi Rimóna Beerótského, a řekl jim: Jakože živ je Hospodin, který vykoupil mou duši z každého soužení,

4:9  Tedy odpovídaje David Rechabovi a Baanovi bratru jeho, synům Remmona Berotského, řekl jim: Živť jest Hospodin, kterýž vysvobodil duši mou ze všech úzkostí,

4:9  And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said to them, [As] the LORD liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,

4:10  The man that told me, and said: Saul is dead, who thought he brought good tidings, I apprehended, and slew him in Siceleg, who should have been rewarded for his news.

4:10  When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings:

4:10  toho, který mi oznámil: ‚Hle, Saul je mrtev‘, a pokládal se za zvěstovatele radosti, toho jsem v Siklagu jal a popravil. To jsem mu dal za tu zvěst.

4:10  When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, (thinking to have brought good tidings,) I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who [thought] that I would have given him a reward for his tidings:

4:11  How much more now when wicked men have slain an innocent man in his own house, upon his bed, shall I not require his blood at your hand, and take you away from the earth?

4:12  And David commanded his servants and they slew them: and cutting off their hands and feet, hanged them up over the pool in Hebron: but the head of Isboseth they took and buried in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.
