7:1  And Eliseus said: Hear ye the word of the Lord: Thus saith the Lord: Tomorrow, about this time, a bushel of fine flour shall be sold for a stater, and two bushels of barley for a stater, in the gate of Samaria.

7:2  Králův pobočník, jeho pravá ruka, Božímu muži namítl: „Hospodin sice otevírá nebeské průduchy, ale copak se může stát něco takového?“ „Uvidíš to na vlastní oči, ale neokusíš to!“ odpověděl Elíša.

7:2  Nato promluvil k muži Božímu kapitán, o jehož ruku se král opíral, a řekl: Hle, i když Hospodin udělá průduchy do nebes, cožpak se to stane? Elíša odpověděl: Hle, uvidíš to na vlastní oči, ale jíst z toho nebudeš.

7:8  Když přišli ti malomocní na kraj tábora, vešli do jednoho stanu, jedli, pili a vzali odtamtud stříbro, zlato a šaty. Pak odešli a schovali to. Nato se vrátili, vešli do jiného stanu, vzali i odtamtud, odešli a schovali to.

7:13  Na to mu jeden z jeho dvořanů odpověděl: „Co kdybychom vyslali několik mužů na průzkum; ať si vezmou těch pět koní, co ve městě zbývají. Budou na tom stejně jako všichni Izraelci, co tu ještě zbyli. Všechny Izraelce přece stejně čeká smrt.“

7:13  Jeden z jeho otroků odpověděl: Ať vezmou pět ze zbylých koní, kteří ⌈ve městě⌉ zůstali, a budou jako celý izraelský dav, ⌈který ⌈ve městě⌉ zůstal; budou jako celý izraelský dav, který⌉ zahynul. Pošleme je a uvidíme.

7:13  K tomu odpovídaje jeden z služebníků jeho, řekl: Nechť, prosím, vezmou pět koní z těch, kteříž pozůstali v městě. (Hle, oniť jsou jako i všecko množství Izraelské, jenž zůstali v něm, hle, jsou jako všecko množství Izraelské, kteréž již hyne.) Ty pošleme a přezvíme.

7:16  Pak vytáhl lid a vyloupil aramejský tábor. A tak se stalo, že míra bílé mouky byla za šekel a dvě míry ječmene byly za šekel, podle Hospodinova slova.

7:17  Král ustanovil štítonoše, o jehož ruku se opíral, správcem brány. Lid ho však v bráně ušlapal k smrti, jak to předpověděl muž Boží tehdy, když k němu král sestoupil.

7:18  And it came to pass, according to the word of the man of God, which he spoke to the king, when he said: Two bushels of barley shall be for a stater, and a bushel of fine flour for a stater, at this very time tomorrow, in the gate of Samaria.
