40:1  The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after that Nabuzardan the general had let him go from Rama, when he had taken him, being bound with chains, among all them that were carried away from Jerusalem and Juda, and were carried to Babylon.

40:1  Slovo, které se stalo od Hospodina k Jeremjášovi poté, co ho Nebúzaradán, velitel tělesné stráže, propustil z Rámy; řetězy spoutaného jej vzal ze středu všech přesídlenců z Jeruzaléma a Judska, těch, kteří měli být přestěhováni do Babylóna.

40:1  Slovo, které Jeremiáš dostal od Hospodina poté, co ho velitel gardistů Nebuzardan propustil z Rámy, kde ho našel spoutaného řetězy mezi všemi jeruzalémskými a judskými zajatci, kteří měli být odvlečeni do Babylonu.

40:1  ⌈Slovo, které se stalo⌉ k Jeremjášovi od Hospodina poté, co ho velitel tělesné stráže Nebúzaradán propustil z Rámy; když ho nechal přivést, byl totiž spoután pouty mezi všemi jeruzalémskými a judskými vyhnanci, kteří byli odváděni do Babylona.

40:1  Slovo to, kteréž se stalo k Jeremiášovi od Hospodina, když jej propustil Nebuzardan, hejtman nad žoldnéři, z Ráma, vzav jej, když byl svázaný řetězy u prostřed všech zajatých Jeruzalémských a Judských, zajatých do Babylona.

40:2  And the general of the army taking Jeremiah, said to him: The Lord thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place,

40:2  Velitel tělesné stráže vzal tedy Jeremjáše a řekl mu: „Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, mluvil proti tomuto místu o tomto zlu.

40:2  Když velitel gardistů Jeremiáše našel, řekl mu: „Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, varoval toto místo před tímhle neštěstím

40:2  Velitel tělesné stráže nechal Jeremjáše přivést a řekl mu: Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, vyslovil proti tomuto místu toto zlo.

40:2  Tedy vzal hejtman nad žoldnéři Jeremiáše, a řekl jemu: Hospodin Bůh tvůj byl vyřkl zlé toto proti místu tomuto.

40:3  And he hath brought it: and the Lord hath done as he hath said: because you have sinned against the Lord, and have not hearkened to his voice, and this word is come upon you.

40:3  Now the Lord hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.

40:3  A Hospodin je uvedl a učinil, jak mluvil, protože jste proti Hospodinu hřešili a neposlouchali jste ho. Proto se vám toto stalo.

40:3  a teď svou hrozbu naplnil. Stalo se vám to, protože jste hřešili proti Hospodinu a neposlouchali jste ho.

40:3  Hospodin to naplnil a učinil, jak promluvil, protože jste hřešili proti Hospodinu a neposlouchali jste ho. Proto se vám stala tato věc.

40:3  Protož je uvedl a učinil Hospodin, jakž mluvil; nebo jste hřešili proti Hospodinu, a neposlouchali jste hlasu jeho, pročež stala se vám věc tato.

40:3  Now the LORD hath brought [it], and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.

40:3  and the Lord has brought it, and done according as he spoke: because you have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing has come on you.

40:3  et adduxit, et fecit Dominus sicut locutus est, quia peccastis Domino, et non audistis vocem ejus : et factus est vobis sermo hic.

40:4  Now then behold I have loosed thee this day from the chains which were upon thy hands: if it please thee to come with me to Babylon, come: and I will set my eyes upon thee: but if it do not please thee to come with me to Babylon, stay here: behold all the land is before thee, as thou shalt choose, and whither it shall please thee to go, thither go.

40:4  And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thine hand. If it seem good unto thee to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well unto thee: but if it seem ill unto thee to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before thee: whither it seemeth good and convenient for thee to go, thither go.

40:4  Nyní, hle, rozvážu ti dnes řetězy na rukou. Pokládáš-li za dobré jít se mnou do Babylóna, pojď, budu o tebe pečovat. Pokládáš-li za zlé jít se mnou do Babylóna, nemusíš chodit. Hleď, celá země je před tebou. Kam pokládáš za dobré a správné jít, tam jdi.

40:4  Teď ale pohleď – dnes tě propouštím z řetězů, které máš na rukou. Pokud chceš jít se mnou do Babylonu, pojď a postarám se o tebe. Pokud nechceš, nechoď. Hle, máš před sebou celou zem; můžeš jít, kam uznáš za dobré a vhodné.

40:4  A nyní hle, rozvázal jsem tě dnes z pout, která byla na tvých rukou. Jestliže ⌈ti připadá dobré⌉ jít se mnou do Babylona, pojď a ⌈dohlédnu na tebe.⌉ Ale jestli ⌈ti připadá zlé⌉ jít se mnou do Babylona, zastav se. Pohleď, celá země je před tebou. Jdi, kam ⌈ti připadá dobré a správné jít.⌉

40:4  Již tedy, aj, rozvazuji tě dnes z řetězů těch, kteříž jsou na rukou tvých. Vidí-liť se za dobré jíti se mnou do Babylona, poď, a budu tě pilně opatrovati; jestližeť se pak nevidí za dobré jíti se mnou do Babylona, nech tak. Aj, všecka tato země jest před tebou; kamžť se za dobré a slušné vidí jíti, tam jdi.

40:4  And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which [were] upon thy hand. If it seemeth good to thee to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well to thee: but if it seemeth ill to thee to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land [is] before thee: whither it seemeth good and convenient for thee to go, thither go.

40:4  Now, behold, I release you this day from the chains which are on your hand. If it seems good to you to come with me into Babylon, come, and I will take care of you; but if it seems bad to you to come with me into Babylon, do not: behold, all the land is before you; where it seems good and right to you to go, there go."

40:4  And now, behold, I loose you this day from the chains which were on your hand. If it seem good to you to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well to you: but if it seem ill to you to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before you: where it seems good and convenient for you to go, thither go.

40:5  And come not with me: but dwell with Godolias the son of Ahicam the son of Saphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Juda: dwell therefore with him in the midst of the people: or whithersoever it shall please thee to go, go. And the general of the army gave him victuals and presents, and let him go.

40:5  Now while he was not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wheresoever it seemeth convenient unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a reward, and let him go.

40:5  Už se to nezvrátí. Obrať se ke Gedaljášovi, synu Achíkama, syna Šáfanova, kterého babylónský král ustanovil správcem judských měst. Přebývej s ním uprostřed lidu nebo jdi, kam pokládáš za správné jít.“ A velitel tělesné stráže mu dal jídlo na cestu a dar a propustil ho.

40:5  Chceš-li se ale vrátit, vrať se ke Gedaliášovi, synu Achikama, syna Šafanova, kterého babylonský král jmenoval správcem judských měst. Bydli u něj mezi svým lidem. Anebo jdi, kamkoli uznáš za vhodné.“ Velitel gardistů mu pak dal jídlo na cestu a s čestným darem jej propustil.

40:5  Když se stále nevracel, řekl mu: Vrať se ke Gedaljášovi, synu Achíkamovu, vnuku Šáfanovu, kterého babylonský král ustanovil za správce v judských městech; pobývej s ním mezi lidem nebo kamkoli ti připadá správné jít, jdi. Velitel tělesné stráže mu dal jídlo a dar a propustil ho.

40:5  Pakli, (poněvadž se nenavracuje), obrať se k Godoliášovi synu Achikamovu, syna Safanova, kteréhož ustanovil král Babylonský nad městy Judskými, a zůstaň s ním u prostřed lidu, aneb kamžť se koli dobře líbí jíti, jdi. I dal jemu hejtman nad žoldnéři na cestu, a dar, a propustil jej.

40:5  Now while he had not yet gone back, [he said], Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wherever it seemeth convenient to thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him provisions and a reward, and let him go.

40:5  Now while he had not yet gone back, "Go back then," he said, "to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go." So the captain of the guard gave him food and a present, and let him go.

40:5  Now while he was not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wherever it seems convenient to you to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a reward, and let him go.

40:5  et mecum noli venire, sed habita apud Godoliam filium Ahicam filii Saphan, quem præposuit rex Babylonis civitatibus Juda : habita ergo cum eo in medio populi : vel quocumque placuerit tibi ut vadas, vade. Dedit quoque ei magister militiæ cibaria et munuscula, et dimisit eum.

40:6  And Jeremiah went to Godolias the son of Ahicam to Masphath: and dwelt with him in the midst of the people that were left in the land.

40:6  Then went Jeremiah unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.

40:6  Jeremjáš přišel ke Gedaljášovi, synu Achíkamovu, do Mispy a přebýval s ním uprostřed lidu, který byl ponechán v zemi.

40:6  Jeremiáš pak odešel ke Gedaliášovi, synu Achikamovu, do Micpy a bydlel tam u něj mezi lidem, který směl zůstat v zemi.

40:6  Jeremjáš tedy šel ke Gedaljášovi, synu Achíkamovu, do Mispy a pobýval s ním mezi lidem, který v zemi zůstal.

40:6  Takž přišel Jeremiáš k Godoliášovi synu Achikamovu do Masfa, a bydlil s ním u prostřed lidu pozůstalého v zemi.

40:7  And when all the captains of the army that were scattered through the countries, they and their companions, had heard that the king of Babylon had made Godolias the son of Ahicam governor of the country, and that he had committed unto him men and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, them that had not been carried away captive to Babylon:

40:7  Now when all the captains of the forces which were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed unto him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon;

40:7  Když uslyšeli všichni velitelé vojsk, kteří byli se svým mužstvem v poli, že babylónský král ustanovil správcem země Gedaljáše, syna Achíkamova, a že mu svěřil muže, ženy a malé děti a z chudiny země ty, kteří nebyli přestěhováni do Babylóna,

40:7  Když všichni polní velitelé se svými muži uslyšeli, že babylonský král jmenoval Gedaliáše, syna Achikamova, zemským správcem a že mu svěřil muže, ženy a děti ze zemské chudiny, která nebyla odvlečena do Babylonu,

40:7  Když všichni ⌈velitelé vojsk,⌉ kteří byli ještě v poli, oni i jejich muži uslyšeli, že babylonský král ustanovil v zemi za správce Gedaljáše, syna Achíkamova, a že s ním ponechal muže, ženy, malé děti, chudé země, kteří nebyli odvedeni do Babylona,

40:7  Uslyšeli pak všickni hejtmané vojsk, kteříž byli na poli, oni i všecken lid jejich, že ustanovil král Babylonský Godoliáše syna Achikamova nad tou zemí, a že jemu poručil muže a ženy i děti, a to z nejchaternějších té země, z těch kteříž nebyli zajati do Babylona.

40:7  Now when all the captains of the forces who [were] in the fields, [even] they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed to him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon;

40:8  They came to Godolias to Masphath: and Ismahel the son of Nathanias, and Johanan, and Jonathan, the sons of Caree, and Sareas the son of Thanehumeth, and the children of Ophi, that were of Netophathi, and Jezonias the son of Maachati, they and their men.

40:8  Then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.

40:8  šli ke Gedaljášovi do Mispy. Byli to: Jišmael, syn Netanjášův, Jóchanan a Jónatan, synové Káreachovi, Serajáš, syn Tanchumetův, synové Efaje Netófského a Jezanjáš, syn Maakaťanův, každý se svým mužstvem.

40:8  přišli za Gedaliášem do Micpy – Išmael, syn Netaniášův, Jochanan a Jonatan, synové Kareachovi, Serajáš, syn Tanchumetův, synové Efaje Netofského a Jaazaniáš, syn Maachatského – ti všichni i se svými muži.

40:8  přišli ke Gedaljášovi do Mispy, totiž Jišmael, syn Netanjášův, Jóchanan a Jónatan, synové Karéachovi, Serajáš, syn Tanchumetův, synové Efaje Netófského, Jaazanjáš, syn Maakaťanův, oni i jejich muži.

40:8  Protož přišli k Godoliášovi do Masfa, totiž Izmael syn Netaniášův, též Jochanan a Jonatan, synové Kareachovi, a Saraiáš syn Tanchumetův, a synové Efai Netofatského, a Jazaniáš syn Machatův, oni i lid jejich.

40:8  venerunt ad Godoliam in Masphath, et Ismahel filius Nathaniæ, et Johanan et Jonathan filii Caree, et Sareas filius Thanehumeth, et filii Ophi, qui erant de Netophathi, et Jezonias filius Maachathi, ipsi et viri eorum.

40:9  And Godolias the son of Ahicam the son of Saphan swore to them and to their companions, saying: Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

40:9  And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan sware unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

40:9  Gedaljáš, syn Achíkama, syna Šáfanova, je i jejich mužstvo přísežně ujistil: „Nebojte se sloužit Kaldejcům. Zůstaňte v zemi, služte babylónskému králi a povede se vám dobře.

40:9  Gedaliáš, syn Achikama, syna Šafanova, je tehdy i s jejich muži zapřísahal: „Nebojte se poddat Babyloňanům. Zůstaňte v zemi, poddejte se babylonskému králi a povede se vám dobře.

40:9  Gedaljáš, syn Achíkamův, vnuk Šáfanův, ⌈jim a jejich mužům přísahal slovy:⌉ Nebojte se otročit Chaldejcům. Pobývejte v zemi, služte babylonskému králi a povede se vám dobře.

40:9  Tedy přisáhl jim Godoliáš syn Achikamův, syna Safanova, i lidu jejich, řka: Nebojte se služby Kaldejských, zůstaňte v zemi, a služte králi Babylonskému, a dobře vám bude.

40:9  And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, swore to them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

40:10  Behold I dwell in Masphath, that I may answer the commandment of the Chaldeans that are sent to us: but as for you, gather ye the vintage, and the harvest, and the oil, and lay it up in your vessels, and abide in your cities which you hold.

40:10  As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah to serve the Chaldeans, which will come unto us: but ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.

40:10  A já, hle, bydlím v Mispě a zastupuji vás před Kaldejci, kteří k nám přicházejí. Sklízejte víno, letní ovoce i olej, ukládejte do svých nádob a bydlete ve svých městech, která držíte.“

40:10  ⌈Co se mne týče,⌉ hle, já zůstanu v Mispě, abych vás zastupoval před Chaldejci, kteří k nám přijdou. Ale vy sklízejte víno, letní ovoce a olej a ukládejte si to do nádob a pobývejte ve svých městech, která jste zabrali.

40:10  Nebo aj, já bydlím v Masfa, abych sloužil Kaldejským, kteříž přicházejí k nám, vy pak slízejte víno a letní ovoce i olej, a skládejte do nádob svých, a zůstaňte v městech svých, kteráž držíte.

40:10  As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah, to serve the Chaldeans, who will come to us: but ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put [them] in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.

40:11  Moreover all the Jews that were in Moab, and among the children of Ammon, and in Edom, and in all the countries, when they heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant in Judea, and that he had made Godolias the son of Ahicam the son of Saphan ruler over them:

40:11  Likewise when all the Jews that were in Moab, and among the Ammonites, and in Edom, and that were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan;

40:11  I všichni Judejci, kteří byli v Moábsku a mezi Amónovci a v Edómsku a kteří byli ve všech zemích, uslyšeli, že babylónský král zanechal Judovi pozůstatek lidu a že nad nimi ustanovil Gedaljáše, syna Achíkama, syna Šáfanova.

40:11  Také všichni judští utečenci v Moábu, Amonu, Edomu i ve všech ostatních zemích uslyšeli, že babylonský král nechal v zemi pozůstatek Židů a že jejich správcem jmenoval Gedaliáše, syna Achikama, syna Šafanova.

40:11  Také všichni Judejci, kteří byli v Moábu, mezi syny Amónovými, v Edómu a ve všech dalších zemích uslyšeli, že babylonský král zanechal Judovi ostatek a že nad nimi ustanovil za správce Gedaljáše, syna Achíkamova, vnuka Šáfanova.

40:11  Tak i všickni Judští, kteříž byli u Moábských a mezi Ammonitskými, a mezi Idumejskými, a kteříž byli ve všech zemích, uslyšavše, že by pozůstavil král Babylonský ostatek Judských, a že by ustanovil nad nimi Godoliáše syna Achikamova, syna Safanova,

40:14  And said to him, Do you certainly know that Baalis the king of the Ammonites has sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to slay you? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam believed them not.

40:15  But Johanan the son of Caree, spoke to Godolias privately in Masphath, saying: I will go, and I will kill Ismahel the son of Nathanias, and no man shall know it, lest he kill thee, and all the Jews be scattered, that are gathered unto thee, and the remnant of Juda perish.

40:15  Then Johanan the son of Kareah spake to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me go, I pray thee, and I will slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: wherefore should he slay thee, that all the Jews which are gathered unto thee should be scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish?

40:15  Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, "Please let me go, and I will kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: why should he take your life, that all the Jews who are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish?"

40:16  And Godolias the son of Ahicam said to Johanan the son of Caree: Do not this thing: for what thou sayst of Ismahel is false.

40:16  But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said unto Johanan the son of Kareah, Thou shalt not do this thing: for thou speakest falsely of Ishmael.
