Et tout le peuple du pays entra dans le temple de Baal, et ils renversèrent ses autels, mirent ses images en pièces, et tuèrent Mathan (lui-même), prêtre de Baal, devant l’autel. Et le grand prêtre plaça des gardes dans la maison du Seigneur.

Da ging alles Volk des Landes in das Haus des Baal und riß es nieder; seine Altäre und seine Bilder zerschlugen sie gänzlich; und Mattan, den Priester des Baal, töteten sie vor den Altären. Und der Priester setzte Aufseher über das Haus Jehovas.
