2:1  And it came to pass, when on a certain day the sons of God came, and stood before the Lord, and Satan came amongst them, and stood in his sight,

2:1  A nastal opět den, kdy synové Boží přišli, aby předstoupili před Hospodina; přišel mezi ně i satan, aby i on předstoupil před Hospodina.

2:1  Jednoho dne, když synové Boží přišli, aby předstoupili před Hospodina, přišel s nimi i satan, aby předstoupil před Hospodina.

2:1  Tu nastal den, kdy přišli Boží synové, aby se postavili před Hospodina; mezi nimi přišel také Satan, aby se postavil před Hospodina.

2:1  I stalo se opět jednoho dne, že když přišli synové Boží, aby se postavili před Hospodinem, přišel také i Satan mezi ně, aby se postavil před Hospodinem.

2:2  Hospodin se satana zeptal: „Odkud přicházíš?“ Satan Hospodinu odpověděl: „Procházel jsem zemi křížem krážem.“

2:2  „Odkud jdeš?“ zeptal se Hospodin satana. „Toulal jsem se po zemi sem a tam,“ odpověděl mu satan.

2:2  Hospodin tehdy Satanovi řekl: Odkud přicházíš? Satan Hospodinu odpověděl: Z obchůzky na zemi, z procházení po ní sem a tam.

2:2  Tedy řekl Hospodin Satanovi: Odkud jdeš? I odpověděl Satan Hospodinu, řka: Procházel jsem zemi, a obcházel jsem ji.

2:2  And the LORD said to Satan, Whence comest thou? and Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down upon it.

2:2  The Lord said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the Lord, and said, "From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it."

2:2  ut diceret Dominus ad Satan : Unde venis ? Qui respondens ait : Circuivi terram, et perambulavi eam.

2:3  And the Lord said to Satan: Hast thou considered my servant, Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a man simple and upright, and fearing God, and avoiding evil, and still keeping his innocence? But thou hast moved me against him, that I should afflict him without cause.

2:3  And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

2:3  Hospodin se satana zeptal: „Zdalipak sis všiml mého služebníka Jóba? Nemá na zemi sobě rovného. Je to muž bezúhonný a přímý, bojí se Boha a vystříhá se zlého. Ve své bezúhonnosti setrvává dosud, ačkoli jsi mě proti němu podnítil, abych ho bezdůvodně mořil.“

2:3  „A všiml sis mého služebníka Joba?“ řekl mu na to Hospodin. „Na zemi mu není rovného – ten muž je bezúhonný a poctivý, bohabojný a prostý všeho zla. Až dosud vytrval ve své bezúhonnosti, ačkoli jsi mě podnítil, abych ho bezdůvodně trápil.“

2:3  Hospodin se pak Satana zeptal: Zdali sis všiml mého otroka Jóba? Neboť není jemu podobného na zemi, muže bezúhonného a přímého, bohabojného a odvracejícího se od zlého. Stále se drží své bezúhonnosti, i když jsi mne podnítil proti němu, abych jej bezdůvodně pohltil.

2:3  I řekl Hospodin Satanovi: Spatřil-lis služebníka mého Joba, že není jemu rovného na zemi, že jest muž sprostný a upřímý, bojící se Boha, a varující se zlého, a že po dnes trvá v upřímnosti své, ačkoli jsi ty mne popudil proti němu, abych jej hubil bez příčiny.

2:3  And the LORD said to Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that [there is] none like him on the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and shunneth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

2:3  The Lord said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? For there is none like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil. He still maintains his integrity, although you incited me against him, to ruin him without cause."

2:3  And the LORD said to Satan, Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that fears God, and eschews evil? and still he holds fast his integrity, although you moved me against him, to destroy him without cause.

2:3  Et dixit Dominus ad Satan : Numquid considerasti servum meum Job, quod non sit ei similis in terra, vir simplex et rectus, ac timens Deum, et recedens a malo, et adhuc retinens innocentiam ? tu autem commovisti me adversus eum, ut affligerem eum frustra.

2:4  And Satan answered, and said: Skin for skin; and all that a man hath, he will give for his life:

2:4  Satan však Hospodinu odpověděl: „Kůži za kůži! Za sebe samého dá člověk všechno, co má.

2:4  „Kůži za kůži! Za svůj život člověk dá vše, co má,“ namítl satan Hospodinu.

2:4  Satan však Hospodinu odpověděl. Řekl: Kůži za kůži, ale vše, co člověk má, dá za svou duši.

2:5  But put forth thy hand, and touch his bone and his flesh, and then thou shalt see that he will bless thee to thy face.

2:6  Hospodin na to satanovi odvětil: „Nuže, měj si ho v moci, avšak ušetři jeho život.“

2:6  „Tak dobrá,“ řekl Hospodin satanovi. „Ať je ve tvé moci. Musíš ho ale nechat naživu.“

2:6  Tu Hospodin Satanovi řekl: Hle, ⌈je ve tvé ruce;⌉ avšak zachovej jeho duši.

2:7  Satan pak odešel z Hospodinovy přítomnosti a ranil Jóba zlými vředy od paty až k hlavě.

2:7  Protož vyšed Satan od tváři Hospodinovy, ranil Joba nežitem nejhorším, od zpodku nohy jeho až do vrchu hlavy jeho,

2:7  So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot to his crown.

2:9  And his wife said to him: Dost thou still continue in thy simplicity? bless God and die.

2:9  Jeho žena mu však řekla: „Ještě se držíš své bezúhonnosti? Zlořeč Bohu a zemři.“

2:10  And he said to her: Thou hast spoken like one of the foolish women: If we have received good things at the hand of God, why should we not receive evil? In all these things Job did not sin with his lips.

2:10  But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

2:10  Ale on jí odpověděl: „Mluvíš jako nějaká bláhová žena. To máme od Boha přijímat jenom dobro, kdežto věci zlé přijímat nebudeme?“ Při tom všem se Jób svými rty neprohřešil.

2:10  „Mluvíš jako nějaká hloupá ženská,“ odpověděl jí. „Budeme snad od Boha přijímat jen dobré, a zlé ne?“ V tom ve všem Job ani jediným slovem nezhřešil.

2:10  Odpověděl jí však: Mluvíš, jako by promlouvala jedna z bláznivých žen. Což budeme přijímat od Boha dobré, a zlé přijímat nebudeme? V tom všem Jób nezhřešil svými rty.

2:10  Jížto řekl: Mluvíš, jako jedna z bláznivých mluvívá. Dobré-liž jen věci bráti budeme od Boha, zlých pak nebudeme přijímati? V tom ve všem nezhřešil Job rty svými.

2:10  But he said to her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

2:11  Now when Job's three friends heard all the evil that had befallen him, they came every one from his own place, Eliphaz, the Themanite, and Baldad, the Suhite, and Sophar, the Naamathite. For they had made an appointment to come together and visit him, and comfort him.

2:11  Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.

2:11  O všem tom zlém, co Jóba potkalo, se doslechli jeho tři přátelé a přišli každý ze svého místa: Elífaz Témanský, Bildad Šúchský a Sófar Naamatský. Dohodli se spolu, že mu půjdou projevit soustrast a potěšit ho.

2:11  Když o všem tom neštěstí, jež Joba potkalo, uslyšeli jeho tři přátelé, vypravili se každý ze svého kraje: Elifaz z Temanu, Bildad ze Šuchu a Sofar z Naámy. Shodli se, že ho společně půjdou navštívit, aby ho politovali a potěšili.

2:11  Když tři Jóbovi přátelé uslyšeli o všem tom zlu, které na něho dolehlo, přišli, každý ze svého domova: Elífaz Témanský, Bildad Šúchský a Sófar Naamatský. Dohodli se spolu, že přijdou, aby ⌈mu projevili účast⌉ a aby jej potěšili.

2:11  Když pak uslyšeli tři přátelé Jobovi o všem tom zlém, kteréž přišlo na něj, přišli jeden každý z místa svého: Elifaz Temanský, a Bildad Suchský a Zofar Naamatský, na tom zůstavše spolu, aby přijdouce k němu, politovali ho a těšili jej.

2:11  Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that had come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite; for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him, and to comfort him.

2:12  And when they had lifted up their eyes afar off, they knew him not, and crying out, they wept, and rending their garments, they sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.

2:12  Rozhlíželi se po něm už zdaleka, ale nemohli ho poznat. Propukli v hlasitý pláč, roztrhli své řízy a rozhazovali nad hlavou k nebi prach.

2:12  Uviděli ho už zdálky a byl k nepoznání. Dali se do hlasitého pláče, roztrhli své pláště a sypali si na hlavu prach, až létal k obloze.

2:12  Když zpovzdálí pozvedli oči a nemohli jej poznat, ⌈pozvedli hlas a rozplakali se.⌉ Roztrhli každý své roucho a rozhazovali prach nad své hlavy k nebi.

2:12  Kteříž pozdvihše očí svých zdaleka, nepoznali ho. Potom pozdvihše hlasu svého, plakali, a roztrhše jeden každý roucho své, házeli prachem nad hlavy své zhůru.

2:12  And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they raised their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads towards heaven.

2:13  Seděli potom spolu s ním na zemi po sedm dní a nocí a slova k němu žádný nepromluvil, neboť viděli, že jeho bolest je nesmírná.

2:13  Sedm dní a sedm nocí s ním proseděli na zemi, a když viděli tu nesmírnou bolest, nikdo mu neřekl ani jediné slovo.

2:13  Pak s ním seděli na zemi ⌈sedm dnů⌉ a sedm nocí a nepromluvili na něj ani slovo, protože viděli, že jeho bolest je tuze veliká.
