Chapter 123
Psal DRC 123:1  A gradual canticle. If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say:
Psal VulgClem 123:1  Canticum graduum. Nisi quia Dominus erat in nobis, dicat nunc Israël,
Psal KJV 123:1  Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
Psal DRC 123:2  If it had not been that the Lord was with us, When men rose up against us,
Psal VulgClem 123:2  nisi quia Dominus erat in nobis : cum exsurgerent homines in nos,
Psal KJV 123:2  Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
Psal DRC 123:3  Perhaps they had swallowed us up alive. When their fury was enkindled against us,
Psal VulgClem 123:3  forte vivos deglutissent nos ; cum irasceretur furor eorum in nos,
Psal KJV 123:3  Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
Psal DRC 123:4  Perhaps the waters had swallowed us up.
Psal VulgClem 123:4  forsitan aqua absorbuisset nos ;
Psal KJV 123:4  Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.
Psal DRC 123:5  Our soul hath passed through a torrent: perhaps our soul had passed through a water insupportable.
Psal VulgClem 123:5  torrentem pertransivit anima nostra ; forsitan pertransisset anima nostra aquam intolerabilem.

Psal DRC 123:6  Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us to be a prey to their teeth.
Psal VulgClem 123:6  Benedictus Dominus, qui non dedit nos in captionem dentibus eorum.

Psal DRC 123:7  Our soul hath been delivered as a sparrow out of the snare of the fowlers. The snare is broken, and we are delivered.
Psal VulgClem 123:7  Anima nostra sicut passer erepta est de laqueo venantium ; laqueus contritus est, et nos liberati sumus.

Psal DRC 123:8  Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Psal VulgClem 123:8  Adjutorium nostrum in nomine Domini, qui fecit cælum et terram.
