6:1  In their affliction they will rise early to me: Come, and let us return to the Lord.

6:1  In tribulatione sua mane consurgent ad me : Venite, et revertamur ad Dominum,

6:1  Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

6:2  For he hath taken us, and he will heal us: he will strike, and he will cure us.

6:2  quia ipse cepit, et sanabit nos ; percutiet, et curabit nos.

6:2  After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

6:3  He will revive us after two days: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. We shall know, and we shall follow on, that we may know the Lord. His going forth is prepared as the morning light, and he will come to us as the early and the latter rain to the earth.

6:3  Vivificabit nos post duos dies ; in die tertia suscitabit nos, et vivemus in conspectu ejus. Sciemus, sequemurque ut cognoscamus Dominum : quasi diluculum præparatus est egressus ejus, et veniet quasi imber nobis temporaneus et serotinus terræ.

6:3  Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

6:4  What shall I do to thee, O Ephraim? what shall I do to thee, O Juda? your mercy is as a morning cloud, and as the dew that goeth away in the morning.

6:4  Quid faciam tibi, Ephraim ? quid faciam tibi, Juda ? misericordia vestra quasi nubes matutina, et quasi ros mane pertransiens.

6:4  O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.

6:5  For this reason have I hewed them by the prophets, I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments shall go forth as the light.

6:5  Propter hoc dolavi in prophetis ; occidi eos in verbis oris mei : et judicia tua quasi lux egredientur.

6:5  Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.

6:6  For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice: and the knowledge of God more than holocausts.

6:7  But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant, there have they dealt treacherously against me.

6:8  Galaad is a city of workers of idols, supplanted with blood.

6:9  And like the jaws of highway robbers, they conspire with the priests who murder in the way those that pass out of Sichem: for they have wrought wickedness.

6:9  Et quasi fauces virorum latronum, particeps sacerdotum, in via interficientium pergentes de Sichem : quia scelus operati sunt.

6:9  And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.

6:10  I have seen a horrible thing in the house of Israel: the fornications of Ephraim there: Israel is defiled.

6:10  In domo Israël vidi horrendum : ibi fornicationes Ephraim, contaminatus est Israël.

6:11  And thou also, O Juda, set thee a harvest, when I shall bring back the captivity of my people.

6:11  Sed et Juda, pone messem tibi, cum convertero captivitatem populi mei.

6:11  Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.
