Chapter 5
I Pe DRC 5:1  The ancients therefore that are among you, I beseech who am myself also an ancient and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as also a partaker of that glory which is to be revealed in time to come:
I Pe KJV 5:1  The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
I Pe VulgClem 5:1  Seniores ergo, qui in vobis sunt, obsecro, consenior et testis Christi passionum : qui et ejus, quæ in futuro revelanda est, gloriæ communicator :
I Pe DRC 5:2  Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking care of it, not by constraint but willingly, according to God: not for filthy lucre's sake but voluntarily:
I Pe KJV 5:2  Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
I Pe VulgClem 5:2  pascite qui in vobis est gregem Dei, providentes non coacte, sed spontanee secundum Deum : neque turpis lucri gratia, sed voluntarie :
I Pe DRC 5:3  Neither as lording it over the clergy but being made a pattern of the flock from the heart.
I Pe KJV 5:3  Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
I Pe VulgClem 5:3  neque ut dominantes in cleris, sed forma facti gregis ex animo.
I Pe DRC 5:4  And when the prince of pastors shall appear, you shall receive a never fading crown of glory.
I Pe KJV 5:4  And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
I Pe VulgClem 5:4  Et cum apparuerit princeps pastorum, percipietis immarcescibilem gloriæ coronam.
I Pe DRC 5:5  In like manner, ye young men, be subject to the ancients. And do you all insinuate humility one to another: for God resisteth the proud, but to the humble he giveth grace.
I Pe KJV 5:5  Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
I Pe VulgClem 5:5  Similiter adolescentes subditi estote senioribus. Omnes autem invicem humilitatem insinuate, quia Deus superbis resistit, humilibus autem dat gratiam.
I Pe DRC 5:6  Be you humbled therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in the time of visitation:
I Pe KJV 5:6  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
I Pe VulgClem 5:6  Humiliamini igitur sub potenti manu Dei, ut vos exaltet in tempore visitationis :
I Pe DRC 5:7  Casting all your care upon him, for he hath care of you.
I Pe KJV 5:7  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
I Pe VulgClem 5:7  omnem sollicitudinem vestram projicientes in eum, quoniam ipsi cura est de vobis.
I Pe DRC 5:8  Be sober and watch: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goeth about seeking whom he may devour.
I Pe KJV 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
I Pe VulgClem 5:8  Sobrii estote, et vigilate : quia adversarius vester diabolus tamquam leo rugiens circuit, quærens quem devoret :
I Pe DRC 5:9  Whom resist ye, strong in faith: knowing that the same affliction befalls, your brethren who are in the world.
I Pe KJV 5:9  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
I Pe VulgClem 5:9  cui resistite fortes in fide : scientes eamdem passionem ei quæ in mundo est vestræ fraternitati fieri.
I Pe DRC 5:10  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, will himself perfect you and confirm you and establish you.
I Pe KJV 5:10  But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
I Pe VulgClem 5:10  Deus autem omnis gratiæ, qui vocavit nos in æternam suam gloriam in Christo Jesu, modicum passos ipse perficiet, confirmabit, solidabitque.
I Pe DRC 5:11  To him be glory and empire, for ever and ever. Amen.
I Pe KJV 5:11  To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
I Pe VulgClem 5:11  Ipsi gloria, et imperium in sæcula sæculorum. Amen.
I Pe DRC 5:12  By Sylvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I think, I have written briefly: beseeching and testifying that this is the true grace of God, wherein you stand.
I Pe KJV 5:12  By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.
I Pe VulgClem 5:12  Per Silvanum fidelem fratrem vobis, ut arbitror, breviter scripsi : obsecrans et contestans, hanc esse veram gratiam Dei, in qua statis.
I Pe DRC 5:13  The church that is in Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you. And so doth my son, Mark.
I Pe KJV 5:13  The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.
I Pe VulgClem 5:13  Salutat vos ecclesia quæ est in Babylone coëlecta, et Marcus filius meus.
I Pe DRC 5:14  Salute one another with a holy kiss. Grace be to all you who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
I Pe KJV 5:14  Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
I Pe VulgClem 5:14  Salutate invicem in osculo sancto. Gratia vobis omnibus qui estis in Christo Jesu. Amen.
