Dyma bobl Israel oedd yr ochr draw i'r dyffryn, a'r tu draw i'r Iorddonen, yn clywed fod milwyr Israel wedi ffoi, a bod Saul a'i feibion wedi cael eu lladd. Felly dyma nhw'n gadael eu trefi a ffoi; a symudodd y Philistiaid i fyw ynddyn nhw.

Als aber die Israeliten, die in den Städten der Ebene (Jesreel) und in den Städten am Jordan wohnten, sahen, daß die Israeliten geflohen und daß Saul samt seinen Söhnen gefallen war, verließen sie ihre Städte und ergriffen die Flucht; da kamen die Philister und setzten sich darin fest.
