1:1  And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him to a high degree.

1:1  Šalomoun, syn Davidův, pevně vládl svému království a Hospodin, jeho Bůh, byl s ním a nesmírně jej vyvýšil.

1:1  Davidův syn Šalomoun se pevně chopil královské vlády. Hospodin, jeho Bůh, byl s ním a obdařil ho velkolepou mocí.

1:1  Šalomoun, syn Davidův, ⌈si počínal ve svém království zmužile,⌉ neboť Hospodin, jeho Bůh, byl s ním a učinil ho velmi velkým.

1:1  Když se pak zmocnil Šalomoun syn Davidův v království svém, a Hospodin Bůh jeho byl s ním, a zvelebil ho náramně:

1:2  Šalomoun vydal rozkaz celému Izraeli, velitelům nad tisíci a nad sty, soudcům a všem předákům z celého Izraele, totiž představitelům rodů,

1:2  Šalomoun sezval celý Izrael, velitele tisíců a stovek, soudce i všechny vznešené vůdce izraelských otcovských rodů.

1:2  Šalomoun promluvil k celému Izraeli -- k velitelům nad tisíci a nad sty, k soudcům a ke všem předákům celého Izraele, předákům rodů --

1:2  Tedy rozkázal Šalomoun všemu Izraelovi i hejtmanům, setníkům i soudcům, i všechněm knížatům nade vším Izraelem, i přednějším v čeledech otcovských.

1:11  And God said to Solomon: Because this choice hath pleased thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, and wealth, and glory, nor the lives of them that hate thee, nor many days of life: but hast asked wisdom and knowledge, to be able to judge my people, over which I have made thee king,

1:11  Bůh Šalomounovi řekl: „Protože máš na srdci toto a nežádal jsi bohatství, skvosty ani slávu, ani bezživotí těch, kdo tě nenávidí, ba nežádal jsi ani dlouhý věk, ale požádal jsi pro sebe o moudrost a umění, jak soudit můj lid, nad nímž jsem tě ustanovil za krále,

1:11  Bůh Šalomounovi řekl: „Protože jsi chtěl právě toto – nežádal jsi poklady, slávu ani smrt svých nepřátel, ba ani dlouhý život sis nežádal, ale chtěl jsi moudrost a poznání, abys dokázal spravovat můj lid, nad nímž jsem tě učinil králem –

1:11  Bůh Šalomounovi řekl: Protože jsi měl toto v srdci a nežádal jsi bohatství, poklady a slávu, ani smrt těch, kteří tě nenávidí, ba ani dlouhý život jsi nežádal, ale žádal jsi moudrost a poznání, abys dokázal soudit můj lid, nad nímž jsem tě ustanovil králem,

1:11  Tedy odpověděl Bůh Šalomounovi: Proto že bylo to v srdci tvém, a nežádal jsi bohatství, ani zboží, ani slávy, ani bezživotí těch, jenž tebe nenávidí, aniž jsi také za dlouhý věk žádal, ale žádal jsi sobě moudrosti a umění, abys soudil lid můj, nad nímž jsem tě ustanovil za krále:

1:11  Dixit autem Deus ad Salomonem : Quia hoc magis placuit cordi tuo, et non postulasti divitias, et substantiam, et gloriam, neque animas eorum qui te oderant, sed nec dies vitæ plurimos : petisti autem sapientiam et scientiam, ut judicare possis populum meum super quem constitui te regem :

1:12  Wisdom and knowledge are granted to thee: and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and glory, so that none of the kings before thee, nor after thee, shall be like thee.

1:12  budou ti dány moudrost a umění, ale dám ti i bohatství, skvosty a slávu, takže se ti nevyrovná žádný z králů, kteří byli před tebou, ani z těch, co přijdou po tobě.“

1:12  proto tu moudrost i poznání dostaneš. K tomu ti přidám bohatství, poklady a slávu, takže ti nebude rovného mezi králi v minulosti ani v budoucnu.“
