1:2  Achazjáš propadl mříží svého pokojíku na střeše v Samaří a churavěl. Vyslal posly a řekl jim: „Jděte a dotažte se Baal-zebúba, boha Ekrónu, zdali z tohoto ochoření vyváznu živ.“

1:2  A Ochoziáš spadl skrze mříži paláce svého letního, kterýž byl v Samaří, a stonal. I poslal posly, řka jim: Jděte, pilně se ptejte Belzebuba, boha Akaron, povstanu-li z nemoci této?

1:2  And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that [was] in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said to them, Go, inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover from this disease.

1:3  Tu promluvil anděl Hospodinův k Elijášovi Tišbejskému: „Vstaň a vyjdi vstříc poslům samařského krále a pověz jim: Což není Bůh v Izraeli, že se jdete dotazovat Baal-zebúba, boha Ekrónu?

1:3  Hospodinův anděl ale promluvil k Eliášovi Tišbejskému: „Vstaň, vyjdi poslům samařského krále naproti a řekni jim: ‚Copak už není Bůh v Izraeli, že se jdete vyptávat Baal-zebuba, božstva Ekronu?

1:3  Ale Hospodinův anděl promluvil k Elijáši Tišbejskému: Vstaň, jdi naproti poslům samařského krále a řekni jim: Což není Bůh v Izraeli, že se jdete dotázat Baal–zebúba, boha Ekrónu?

1:3  But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them, [Is it] not because [there is] not a God in Israel, [that] ye go to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron?

1:4  Proto Hospodin praví toto: Z lože, na něž jsi ulehl, nepovstaneš, ale zcela jistě zemřeš.“ A Elijáš šel.

1:4  Nuže, toto praví Hospodin: Nejenže nevstaneš z lože, na něž jsi ulehl, ale zemřeš!‘“ Pak Eliáš odešel.

1:4  Proto ⌈takto praví Hospodin:⌉ Z postele, na kterou jsi vylezl, neslezeš, ale jistě zemřeš. A Elijáš šel.

1:4  Protož takto praví Hospodin: S ložce, na kterémžs se složil, nesejdeš, ale jistotně umřeš. I odšel Eliáš.

1:5  And when the messengers turned back to him, he said to them, Why have ye now returned?

1:5  Reversique sunt nuntii ad Ochoziam. Qui dixit eis : Quare reversi estis ?

1:6  But they answered him: A man met us, and said to us: Go, and return to the king, that sent you, and you shall say to him: Thus saith the Lord: Is it because there was no God in Israel, that thou sendest to Beelzebub, the god of Accaron? Therefore thou shalt not come down from the bed, on which thou art gone up, but thou shalt surely die.

1:6  And they said unto him, There came a man up to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that thou sendest to enquire of Baal–zebub the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

1:6  Odvětili mu: „Jakýsi muž nám vyšel vstříc a řekl nám: ‚Jděte zpět ke králi, který vás vyslal, a vyřiďte mu: Toto praví Hospodin: Což není Bůh v Izraeli, že se obracíš s dotazem na Baal-zebúba, boha Ekrónu? Proto z lože, na nějž jsi ulehl, nepovstaneš, ale zcela jistě zemřeš.‘“

1:6  „Vyšel nám naproti jeden muž,“ odpověděli, „a řekl nám: ‚Vraťte se ke králi, který vás poslal, a vyřiďte mu: Tak praví Hospodin: Copak už není Bůh v Izraeli, že se necháváš ptát Baal-zebuba, božstva Ekronu? Proto nejenže nevstaneš z lože, na něž jsi ulehl, ale zemřeš!‘“

1:6  Odpověděli mu: Šel nám naproti nějaký muž a řekl nám: Jděte, vraťte se ke králi, který vás poslal, a řekněte mu: Toto praví Hospodin: Což není Bůh v Izraeli, že posíláš dotázat se Baal–zebúba, boha Ekrónu? Proto z postele, na kterou jsi vylezl, neslezeš, ale jistě zemřeš:

1:6  Odpověděli jemu: Muž nějaký vyšel nám v cestu a řekl nám: Jděte, navraťte se k králi, kterýž vás poslal, a rcete jemu: Takto praví Hospodin: Zdali není Boha v Izraeli, že ty posíláš tázati se Belzebuba, boha Akaron? Protož s ložce, na kterémžs se složil, nesejdeš, ale jistotně umřeš.

1:6  And they said to him, There came up a man to meet us, and said to us, Go, turn again to the king that sent you, and say to him, Thus saith the LORD, [Is it] not because [there is] not a God in Israel, [that] thou sendest to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

1:6  They said to him, "A man came up to meet us, and said to us, 'Go, return to the king who sent you, and tell him, "Thus says the Lord, 'Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you send to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.'"'"

1:7  And he said to them: What manner of man was he who met you, and spoke these words?

1:7  Otázal se jich: „Jak vypadal ten muž, který vám vyšel vstříc a mluvil k vám tato slova?“

1:7  „Jak vypadal ten muž, který vám s těmi slovy vyšel naproti?“ ptal se král.

1:7  Zeptal se jich: Jak vypadal ten muž, který vám šel naproti a řekl vám tato slova?

1:7  I řekl jim: Jaký jest způsob muže toho, kterýž vám vstříc vyšel a mluvil vám ty řeči?

1:7  And he said to them, What manner of man [was he] who came up to meet you, and told you these words?

1:7  He said to them, "What kind of man was he who came up to meet you, and told you these words?"

1:7  Qui dixit eis : Cujus figuræ et habitus est vir ille, qui occurrit vobis, et locutus est verba hæc ?

1:8  But they said: A hairy man, with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said: It is Elias, the Thesbite.

1:8  And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.

1:8  Oni mu řekli: „Byl to muž v chlupatém plášti a bedra měl opásaná koženým pásem.“ Tu řekl: „To byl Elijáš Tišbejský.“

1:8  „Měl plášť z kožešiny,“ odpověděli, „a kolem boků kožený pás.“ „To je Eliáš Tišbejský!“ řekl král.

1:8  Odpověděli mu: Ten muž byl chlupatý a koženým pásem přepásán kolem beder. Řekl: To byl Elijáš Tišbejský.

1:8  Kteříž odpověděli jemu: Jest člověk chlupatý, a pasem koženým přepásán na bedrách svých. Tedy řekl: Eliáš Tesbitský jest.

1:8  And they answered him, [He was] a hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It [is] Elijah the Tishbite.

1:9  And he sent to him a captain of fifty, and the fifty men that were under him. And he went up to him, and as he was sitting on the top of a hill, he said to him: Man of God, the king hath commanded that thou come down.

1:9  Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.

1:9  Poslal pro něho velitele s padesáti vojáky. Ten k němu vystoupil, a hle, Elijáš seděl na vrcholu hory. Promluvil k němu: „Muži Boží, král rozkazuje: ‚Sestup!‘“

1:9  Poslal tedy na něj velitele s padesáti vojáky. Eliáš seděl na vrcholu hory, a tak velitel hned vylezl za ním a přikázal mu: „Boží muži, král praví: Sestup dolů!“

1:9  Poslal k němu velitele nad padesáti s jeho padesáti. Vystoupil k němu a hle, Elijáš seděl na vrcholu hory. Řekl mu: Muži Boží, král vzkazuje: Sestup.

1:9  Protož poslal pro něj padesátníka s padesáti jeho. Kterýž šel k němu, a aj, seděl na vrchu hory. I řekl jemu: Muži Boží, král rozkázal, abys sstoupil dolů.

1:9  Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and behold, he sat on the top of a hill. And he spoke to him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.

1:9  Then the king sent a captain of fifty with his fifty to him. He went up to him; and behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. He said to him, "Man of God, the king has said, 'Come down!'"

1:9  Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spoke to him, You man of God, the king has said, Come down.

1:9  Misitque ad eum quinquagenarium principem, et quinquaginta qui erant sub eo. Qui ascendit ad eum : sedentique in vertice montis, ait : Homo Dei, rex præcepit ut descendas.

1:10  And Elias answering, said to the captain of fifty: If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume thee, and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven and consumed him, and the fifty that were with him.

1:10  Elijáš veliteli těch padesáti odpověděl: „Jsem-li muž Boží, ať sestoupí oheň z nebe a pozře tebe i tvých padesát!“ I sestoupil oheň z nebe a pozřel jej i jeho padesát.

1:10  „Jestli jsem Boží muž,“ odpověděl Eliáš veliteli, „tak ať z nebe sestoupí oheň a pohltí tě i těch tvých padesát.“ Vtom z nebe sestoupil oheň a pohltil velitele i s jeho padesáti.

1:10  Elijáš odpověděl a řekl veliteli nad padesáti: Jestliže jsem muž Boží, ať sestoupí oheň z nebes a stráví tebe i tvých padesát. Nato sestoupil oheň z nebes a strávil jej i jeho padesát.

1:10  Odpovídaje Eliáš, řekl padesátníku: Jestliže jsem muž Boží, nechť sstoupí oheň s nebe, a sžíře tě i tvých padesát. A tak sstoupil oheň s nebe, a sežral jej i padesát jeho.

1:10  And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I [am] a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

1:10  Elijah answered to the captain of fifty, "If I am a man of God, let fire come down from the sky, and consume you and your fifty!" Fire came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.

1:10  Respondensque Elias, dixit quinquagenario : Si homo Dei sum, descendat ignis de cælo, et devoret te, et quinquaginta tuos. Descendit itaque ignis de cælo, et devoravit eum, et quinquaginta qui erant cum eo.

1:11  And he again sent to him another captain of fifty men, and his fifty with him. And he said to him: Man of God: Thus saith the king: Make haste and come down.

1:11  Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.

1:11  Král pro něho poslal opět jiného velitele s padesáti vojáky. Ten promluvil: „Muži Boží, toto praví král: ‚Rychle sestup!‘

1:11  Král tedy na něj poslal dalšího velitele s padesáti vojáky. Ten za ním vylezl a přikázal mu: „Boží muži, tak praví král: Ihned sestup!“

1:11  Král k němu znovu poslal jiného velitele nad padesáti s jeho padesáti. Ten promluvil a řekl mu: Muži Boží, toto přikázal král: Rychle sestup.

1:11  Opět poslal k němu král padesátníka jiného s padesáti jeho. Kterýž mluvil a řekl jemu: Muži Boží, takto rozkázal král: Rychle sstup dolů.

1:11  Again also he sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said to him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.

1:12  Elias answering, said: If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee, and thy fifty. And fire came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

1:12  And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

1:12  Elijáš jim odpověděl: „Jsem-li muž Boží, ať sestoupí oheň z nebe a pozře tebe i tvých padesát!“ I sestoupil Boží oheň z nebe a pozřel jej i jeho padesát.

1:12  „Jestli jsem Boží muž,“ odpověděl Eliáš, „tak ať z nebe sestoupí oheň a pohltí tě i těch tvých padesát.“ Vtom z nebe sestoupil Boží oheň a pohltil velitele i s jeho padesáti.

1:12  Elijáš odpověděl a řekl jim: Jestliže jsem muž Boží, ať sestoupí oheň z nebes a stráví tebe i tvých padesát. Sestoupil oheň Boží z nebes a strávil jej i jeho padesát.

1:12  I odpověděl Eliáš a řekl jim: Jestliže jsem muž Boží, nechť sstoupí oheň s nebe, a sžíře tě i tvých padesát. A tak sstoupil oheň Boží s nebe, a sežral jej i padesát jeho.

1:12  And Elijah answered and said to them, If I [am] a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

1:13  Again he sent a third captain of fifty men, and the fifty that were with him. And when he was come, he fell upon his knees before Elias, and besought him, and said: Man of God, despise not my life, and the lives of thy servants that are with me.

1:13  And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight.

1:13  Ale král poslal ještě potřetí velitele s padesáti vojáky. Když tento třetí velitel přišel nahoru, poklekl před Elijášem a prosil ho o smilování. Promluvil k němu: „Muži Boží, kéž má v tvých očích život můj i život těchto tvých padesáti služebníků nějakou cenu.

1:13  Král tedy poslal ještě třetího velitele s padesáti muži. Když ale ten třetí velitel padesáti mužů vystoupal k Eliášovi, padl před ním na kolena a prosil ho: „Boží muži, prosím ušetři život můj i těchto tvých padesáti služebníků.

1:13  Král znovu poslal třetího velitele nad padesáti s jeho padesáti. Třetí velitel nad padesáti vystoupil, přišel, klekl před Elijášem na kolena, prosil ho o smilování a řekl mu: Muži Boží, ⌈važ si, prosím, mého života⌉ a života těchto tvých padesáti otroků.

1:13  Ještě poslal padesátníka třetího s padesáti jeho. Pročež vstoupiv, přišel ten třetí padesátník, a klekl na kolena svá před Eliášem, a prose ho pokorně, řekl jemu: Muži Boží, prosím, nechť jest drahá duše má i duše služebníků tvých padesáti těchto před očima tvýma.

1:13  And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said to him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight.

1:13  Again he sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. The third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and begged him, and said to him, "Man of God, please let my life, and the life of these fifty your servants, be precious in your sight.

1:13  Iterum misit principem quinquagenarium tertium, et quinquaginta qui erant cum eo. Qui cum venisset, curvavit genua contra Eliam, et precatus est eum, et ait : Homo Dei, noli despicere animam meam, et animas servorum tuorum qui mecum sunt.

1:14  Behold fire came down from heaven, and consumed the two first captains of fifty men, and the fifties that were with them: but now I beseech thee to spare my life.

1:14  Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties: therefore let my life now be precious in thy sight.

1:14  Hle, oheň sestoupil z nebe a pozřel oba předešlé velitele i jejich padesát vojáků. Kéž má nyní můj život v tvých očích nějakou cenu!“

1:14  Hle, z nebe sestoupil oheň a pohltil oba první velitele i s jejich padesáti muži, můj život ale prosím ušetři!“

1:14  Hle, sestoupil oheň z nebes a strávil dva předchozí velitele nad padesáti s jejich padesáti. Ale nyní si važ mého života.

1:14  Aj, oheň sstoupiv s nebe, sežral dva první padesátníky s padesáti jejich, ale nyní nechť jest drahá duše má před očima tvýma.

1:15  Tu promluvil k Elijášovi Hospodinův anděl: „Sestup s ním. Neboj se ho!“ Povstal tedy, sestoupil s ním ke králi

1:16  And said to him: Thus saith the Lord: Because thou hast sent messengers to consult Beelzebub, the god of Accaron, as though there were not a God in Israel, of whom thou mightest inquire the word; therefore, from the bed on which thou art gone up, thou shalt not come down, but thou shalt surely die.

1:16  a promluvil k němu: „Toto praví Hospodin: Že jsi poslal posly s dotazem k Baal-zebúbovi, bohu Ekrónu, jako by nebyl Bůh v Izraeli, aby ses dotázal na jeho slovo, proto z lože, na něž jsi ulehl, nepovstaneš, ale zcela jistě zemřeš.“

1:16  Řekl mu: „Tak praví Hospodin: Copak už není Bůh v Izraeli, aby ses tázal na jeho slova? Ty jsi ale vyslal posly, aby se vyptávali Baal-zebuba, božstva Ekronu. Proto nejenže nevstaneš z lože, na něž jsi ulehl, ale zemřeš!“

1:16  a řekl mu: Toto praví Hospodin: Protože jsi poslal posly dotázat se Baal–zebúba, boha Ekrónu, jako by nebyl Bůh v Izraeli, aby ses dotázal na jeho slovo, proto z postele, na kterou jsi vylezl, neslezeš, ale jistě zemřeš.

1:16  A mluvil jemu: Takto praví Hospodin: Proto že jsi poslal posly tázati se Belzebuba, boha Akaron, (jako by nebylo Boha v Izraeli, abys se tázal slova jeho), protož s ložce, na kterémžs se složil, nesejdeš, ale jistotně umřeš.

1:17  I zemřel podle Hospodinova slova, které promluvil Elijáš. Po něm se stal králem Jóram, a to v druhém roce vlády judského krále Jórama, syna Jóšafatova. Achazjáš totiž neměl syna.

1:17  Achaziáš pak zemřel, jak Hospodin řekl skrze Eliáše. Neměl syna, a tak na jeho místě začal druhého roku judského krále Jehorama, syna Jošafatova, kralovat Joram.
