4:1  Now when Mardochai had heard these things, he rent his garments, and put on sackcloth, strewing ashes on his head and he cried with a loud voice in the street in the midst of the city, shewing the anguish of his mind.

4:11  „Kdokoli, ať muž či žena, se bez pozvání přiblíží ke králi do vnitřní dvorany, pro takového platí jediný zákon: zemře! To vědí všichni královi dvořané i lid v říšských provinciích. Jen ten, na koho by král ukázal zlatým žezlem, smí žít. A já jsem ke králi nebyla pozvána už třicet dní!“

4:11  Všichni královi otroci i lid královských provincií vědí, že o jakémkoliv muži nebo ženě, kteří přijdou ke králi do vnitřního nádvoří, aniž budou zavoláni, platí jediné nařízení -- aby je usmrtili. Jen když k nim král vztáhne zlaté žezlo, zůstanou naživu. Já jsem už třicet dnů nebyla zavolána, abych přišla ke králi.

4:11  Všickni služebníci královští i lid krajin královských vědí, že kterýž by koli muž neb žena všel před krále do síně vnitřní, nejsa povolán, jedno právo o něm jest, aby hrdlo propadl, kromě toho, k komuž by král vztáhl berlu zlatou, že živ zůstane. 4:13  He sent word to Esther again, saying: Think not that thou mayst save thy life only, because thou art in the king's house, more than all the Jews:

4:14  For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

4:14  Budeš-li v tuto chvíli skutečně mlčet, úleva a osvobození přijde židům odjinud, ale ty a dům tvého otce zahynete. Kdo ví, zda jsi nedosáhla královské hodnosti právě pro chvíli, jako je tato.“

4:14  Nebo jestliže se umlčíš v tento čas, oddechnutí a vysvobození Židům přijde odjinud, ty pak a dům otce tvého zahynete. A kdo ví, ne pro tento-lis čas přišla k tomu království?

4:14  For if thou shalt altogether hold thy peace at this time, [then] will there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house will be destroyed: and who knoweth, whether thou hast come to the kingdom for [such] a time as this?

4:14  For if you remain silent now, then relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Who knows if you haven't come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"

4:16  „Jdi a shromáždi všechny Židy v Súsách. Ať se za mne postí tři dny – ať nejedí ani nepijí ve dne ani v noci. I já a mé dívky se takto budeme postit. Potom půjdu ke králi, ačkoli je to proti zákonu. A zahynu-li, zahynu.“

4:16  Jdi, shromáždi všechny Judejce nacházející se v Šúšanu a postěte se ⌈za mne.⌉ Nebudete jíst ani pít tři dny, v noci ani ve dne. Také já a mé dívky se budeme takto postit. S tím půjdu ke králi, ⌈ačkoliv to neodpovídá⌉ nařízení, a ⌈jestliže zahynu, zahynu.⌉
