10:3  And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David rather sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?

10:6  And the children of Ammon seeing that they had done an injury to David, sent and hired the Syrians of Rohob, and the Syrians of Soba, twenty thousand footmen, and of the king of Maacha a thousand men, and of Istob twelve thousand men.

10:6  Amonci si uvědomili, jak moc Davida popudili, a tak si najali 20 000 aramejských pěšáků z Bet-rechobu a z Cóby, 1000 mužů od maackého krále a 12 000 mužů od Iš-toba.

10:6  Synové Amónovi viděli, že se Davidovi znelíbili. Proto synové Amónovi poslali a najali si Aramejce z Bét–rechóbu a Aramejce ze Sóby, dvacet tisíc pěšáků, od krále z Maaky tisíc mužů a od Íš–tóba dvanáct tisíc mužů.

10:6  Vidouce pak Ammonitští, že se zošklivili Davidovi, poslavše, najali ze mzdy z Syrie z domu Rohob, a z Syrie Soba dvadcet tisíců pěších, a od krále Maacha tisíc mužů, a od Istoba dvanácte tisíc mužů.

10:6  And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious before David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Beth-rehob, and the Syrians of Zoba, twenty thousand footmen, and of king Maacah a thousand men, and of Ish-tob twelve thousand men.

10:8  Amónovci vytáhli a seřadili se k boji u vchodu do brány. Aramejci ze Sóby a Rechóbu a Íš-tób a Maaka stáli stranou v poli.

10:8  Amonci vyrazili a sešikovali se k boji u brány, zatímco Aramejci z Cóby, Rechobu, Iš-tobu a Maaky zaujali postavení v poli.

10:9  Když Jóab spatřil, že má proti sobě bitevní řady zpředu i zezadu, vybral si nejlepší ze všech izraelských mladíků a seřadil je proti Aramejcům.

10:14  Když Amónovci viděli, že Aramejci utíkají, utekli také oni před Abíšajem a vešli do města. Jóab nechal Amónovce a přišel do Jeruzaléma.

10:16  Hadad-ezer vydal rozkaz, aby vytáhli též Aramejci za Řekou. Ti přišli do Chélamu. V jejich čele byl Šóbak, velitel Hadad-ezerova vojska.

10:16  Hadad-ezer poslal také pro Aramejce z druhého břehu Eufratu, a když je přivedl, přitáhli do Chelamu v čele s Hadad-ezerovým vojevůdcem Šobachem.
