2:1  Woe to you that devise that which is unprofitable, and work evil in your beds: in the morning light they execute it, because their hand is against God.

2:1  Běda těm, kdo strojí ničemnosti, páchají zlo na svých ložích, dopouštějí se ho za jitřního světla; na to mají dost sil.

2:1  Běda těm, kdo chystají špatnosti, kdo osnují zlo i v posteli! Už od svítání je páchají – vždyť si to mohou dovolit.

2:3  Proto praví Hospodin toto: Hle, já na tu čeleď strojím zlo, z něhož nevyvléknete své šíje. Přestanete chodit povýšeně, bude to zlý čas.

2:3  A proto tak praví Hospodin: „Hle, já na tu tlupu chystám pohromu – teď už se nevykroutíte! Přestanete chodit s hlavou nahoru – ty časy budou zlé.

2:3  Proto Hospodin praví toto: Hle, zamýšlím proti této čeledi zlo, otrocké jho, ⌈ze kterého nevytáhnete⌉ své šíje. Nebudete chodit povýšeně, neboť to bude ⌈zlá doba.⌉

2:3  Protož takto praví Hospodin: Aj, já myslím proti čeledi té věc zlou, odkudž nevyňmete hrdel vašich, aniž budete choditi vysokomyslně; nebo čas zlý bude.

2:3  Idcirco hæc dicit Dominus : Ecce ego cogito super familiam istam malum, unde non auferetis colla vestra, et non ambulabitis superbi : quoniam tempus pessimum est.

2:4  In that day a parable shall be taken up upon you, and a song shall be sung with melody by them that say: We are laid waste and spoiled: the portion of my people is changed: how shall he depart from me, whereas he is returning that will divide our land?

2:4  In that day shall one take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, and say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed it from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.

2:4  V onen den o vás užijí pořekadel, strhne se žalostné bědování: „Je po všem!“ „Přišla na nás záhuba“, řeknete, „podíl mého lidu je pryč, kterak jsem o něj přišel! Naše pole připadlo odpadlíku.“

2:4  V ten den o vás složí popěvek, zazpívají vám posměšný žalozpěv: ‚To je náš konec – můj lid přišel o svůj majetek! Ach, on mi bere, co je mé, naše pole dělí mezi proradné!‘“

2:4  V onen den pronesou o vás pořekadlo, budou hořce bědovat a říkat: Jsme zcela zničeni. Podíl mého lidu proměnil. Jak to, že mi ho odebral a mé pole rozdělil odpadlíkům?

2:4  V ten den užívati budou o vás přísloví, a naříkati budou naříkáním žalostným, řkouce: Do cela zpuštěni jsme, podíl lidu mého proměnil. Jaktě mi jej odjal, a vzav pole naše, rozdělil!

2:4  In that day shall [one] take up a parable against you, and lament with a grievous lamentation, [and] say, We are utterly wasted: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed [it] from me! turning away he hath divided our fields.

2:5  Ano, nebudeš mít nikoho, kdo by ti losem určil podíl v Hospodinově shromáždění.

2:7  To se má říkat, dome Jákobův: „Copak Hospodin ztratil trpělivost? Copak je tohle jeho dílo?“ Nepřinesou snad má slova užitek těm, kteří žijí poctivě?

2:7  ⌈Má se říkat toto, dome Jákobův?⌉ ⌈Došla Hospodinu trpělivost?⌉ Cožpak jsou toto jeho činy? ⌈Což nejsou mé záměry dobré vůči tomu, kdo žije správně?⌉

2:7  Ó kteráž sloveš domem Jákobovým, zdali do těsna vehnán býti má duch Hospodinův? To-liž by skutkové jeho byli? Zdaliž slova má nejsou dobrá tomu, kdož upřímě chodí?

2:8  Dříve se můj lid stavěl proti nepříteli. Teď však strháváte z plášťů ozdoby těm, kdo po návratu z boje užívají bezpečí.

2:10  Nuže, jděte si, tady odpočinutí nedojdete. Pro svou nečistotu budete zahubeni strašnou záhubou.
