Chapter 19
I Ch DRC 19:1  Now it came to pass that Naas the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his stead.
I Ch KJV 19:1  Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his stead.
I Ch Webster 19:1  Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his stead.
I Ch NHEB 19:1  It happened after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his place.
I Ch AKJV 19:1  Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his stead.
I Ch DRC 19:2  And David said: I will shew kindness to Hanon the son of Naas: for his father did a favour tome. And David sent messengers to comfort him upon the death of his father. But when they were come into the land of the children of Ammon, to comfort Hanon,
I Ch KJV 19:2  And David said, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.
I Ch CzeCEP 19:2  I řekl David: „Prokáži milosrdenství Chanúnovi, synu Náchašovu. Vždyť jeho otec prokazoval milosrdenství mně.“ David tedy poslal posly, aby ho potěšil v zármutku nad otcem. Davidovi služebníci přišli k Chanúnovi do země Amónovců, aby ho potěšili.
I Ch CzeB21 19:2  David si řekl: „Projevím přízeň Nachašovu synu Chanunovi, jako jeho otec projevoval přízeň mně.“ Poslal proto své vyslance, aby mu vyřídili soustrast nad úmrtím jeho otce. Když Davidovi služebníci přišli do země Amonců, aby Chanunovi vyjádřili soustrast,
I přišli služebníci Davidovi do země synů Ammon k Chanunovi, aby ho těšili.
I Ch Webster 19:2  And David said, I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.
I Ch NHEB 19:2  David said, "I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me." So David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. David's servants came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.
I Ch AKJV 19:2  And David said, I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.
I Ch DRC 19:3  The princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanon: Thou thinkest perhaps that David to do honour to thy father hath sent comforters to thee: and thou dost not take notice, that his servants are come to thee to consider, and search, and spy out thy land.
I Ch KJV 19:3  But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land?
I Ch Webster 19:3  But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honor thy father, that he hath sent comforters to thee? are not his servants come to thee to search, and to overthrow, and to explore the land?
I Ch NHEB 19:3  But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, "Do you think that David honors your father, in that he has sent comforters to you? Haven't his servants come to you to search, to overthrow, and to spy out the land?"
I Ch AKJV 19:3  But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Think you that David does honor your father, that he has sent comforters to you? are not his servants come to you for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land?
I Ch DRC 19:4  Wherefore Hanon shaved the heads and beards of the servants of David, and cut away their garments from the buttocks to the feet, and sent them away.
I Ch KJV 19:4  Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.
I Ch Webster 19:4  Wherefore Hanun took David's servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.
I Ch NHEB 19:4  So Hanun took David's servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away.
I Ch AKJV 19:4  Why Hanun took David's servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the middle hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.
I Ch VulgClem 19:4  Igitur Hanon pueros David decalvavit, et rasit, et præcidit tunicas eorum a natibus usque ad pedes, et dimisit eos.
I Ch DRC 19:5  And when they were gone, they sent word to David, who sent to meet them (for they had suffered a great affront) and ordered them to stay at Jericho till their beards grew and then to return.
I Ch KJV 19:5  Then there went certain, and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.
I Ch CzeCEP 19:5  I šli. Když to o těch mužích oznámili Davidovi, poslal jim naproti, protože ti muži byli velice zhanobeni. Král nařídil: „Zůstaňte v Jerichu, dokud vám brady neobrostou; pak se vrátíte.“
I Ch CzeB21 19:5  Jakmile se Davidovi donesla zpráva o těch mužích, poslal jim naproti posly. Protože ti muži byli velmi zostuzeni, král jim vzkázal: „Zůstaňte v Jerichu, dokud vám nenaroste vous. Pak se můžete vrátit.“
I Ch CzeCSP 19:5  ⌈Kdosi šel a pověděl⌉ o těch mužích Davidovi. On jim poslal naproti, protože ti muži byli velice zhanobeni. Král řekl: Zůstaňte v Jerichu, dokud vám vousy nedorostou, a pak se vraťte.
I Ch CzeBKR 19:5  Tedy odešli někteří, a oznámili Davidovi o těch mužích. I poslal proti nim, (nebo byli muži ti zlehčeni velice), a rozkázal jim král: Pobuďte v Jerichu, dokudž neobrostou brady vaše; potom se navrátíte.
I Ch Webster 19:5  Then there went [certain], and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards are grown, and [then] return.
I Ch NHEB 19:5  Then there went certain persons, and told David how the men were served. He sent to meet them; for the men were greatly ashamed. The king said, "Stay at Jericho until your beards have grown, and then return."
I Ch AKJV 19:5  Then there went certain, and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.

I Ch KJV 19:6  And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syria–maachah, and out of Zobah.
Proto Chanún a synové Amónovi poslali tisíc talentů stříbra, aby si z Aramského Dvojříčí, z Aramské Maaky a ze Sóby najali vozy a jezdce.
I Ch Webster 19:6  And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syria-maachah, and out of Zobah.
I Ch NHEB 19:6  When the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent one thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Arammaacah, and out of Zobah.
I Ch AKJV 19:6  And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syriamaachah, and out of Zobah.
I Ch DRC 19:7  And they hired two and thirty thousand chariots, and the king of Maacha, with his people. And they came and camped over against Medaba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together out of their cities, and came to battle.
I Ch KJV 19:7  So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people; who came and pitched before Medeba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together from their cities, and came to battle.

I Ch AKJV 19:7  So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people; who came and pitched before Medeba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together from their cities, and came to battle.
I Ch DRC 19:8  And when David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the army of valiant men:
