19:3  The princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanon: Thou thinkest perhaps that David to do honour to thy father hath sent comforters to thee: and thou dost not take notice, that his servants are come to thee to consider, and search, and spy out thy land.

19:16  Aramejci viděli, že je Izrael porazil, a tak vyslali posly a přivedli si také Aramejce z druhého břehu Eufratu. V jejich čele stál Hadad-ezerův vojevůdce Šofach.

19:16  Když Aramejci viděli, že byli od Izraele poraženi, poslali posly a nechali přivést Aramejce, kteří byli v Zaeufratí. V jejich čele byl Šófak, velitel Hadad–ezerovy armády.

19:18  Museli se ale před Izraelem dát na útěk. David mezi Aramejci pobil 7000 jezdců a 40 000 pěšáků. Zabil i jejich vojevůdce Šofacha.

19:18  Aramejci však před Izraelem utekli. David zabil sedm tisíc aramejských vozatajů, čtyřicet tisíc pěšáků. I velitele armády Šófaka usmrtil.

19:18  Tedy utekli Syrští před Izraelem. I porazil David z Syrských sedm tisíc vozů, a čtyřidceti tisíc lidu pěšího, až i Sofacha hejtmana vojska toho zabil.
