23:1  And in the seventh year Joiada being encouraged, took the captains of hundreds, to wit, Azarias the son of Jeroham, and Ismahel the son of Johanan, and Azarias the son of Obed, and Maasias the son of Adaias, and Elisaphat the son of Zechri: and made a covenant with them.

23:1  V sedmém roce se Jójada vzchopil a vzal s sebou velitele setnin: Azarjáše; syna Jerochámova, Jišmáela, syna Jóchananova, Azarjáše, syna Óbedova, Maasejáše, syna Adajášova, a Elíšafata, syna Zikrího, aby uzavřeli smlouvu.

23:3  And all the congregation made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And he said to them, Behold, the king's son shall reign, as the LORD hath said of the sons of David.

23:6  And let no one come into the house of the Lord, but the priests, and they that minister of the Levites: let them only come in, because they are sanctified: and let all the rest of the people keep the watches of the Lord.

23:6  Nikdo ať nevchází do Hospodinova domu, jen kněží a službu konající lévijci; ti mohou vejít, poněvadž jsou posvěceni. Všechen lid bude na stráži u Hospodinova domu.

23:6  Ať do Hospodinova chrámu nevchází nikdo kromě kněží a sloužících levitů, kteří smí vstoupit, protože jsou svatí. Ať všechen lid dodržuje Hospodinův řád.

23:8  So the Levites, and all Juda did according to all that Joiada the high priest had commanded: and they took every one his men that were under him, and that came in by the course of the sabbath, with those who had fulfilled the sabbath, and were to go out. For Joiada the high priest permitted not the companies to depart, which were accustomed to succeed one another every week.

23:8  So the Levites and all Judah did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest had commanded, and took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that were to go out on the sabbath: for Jehoiada the priest dismissed not the courses.

23:9  And Joiada the priest gave to the captains the spears, and the shields, and targets of king David, which he had dedicated in the house of the Lord.

23:13  And she looked, and, behold, the king stood at his pillar at the entering in, and the princes and the trumpets by the king: and all the people of the land rejoiced, and sounded with trumpets, also the singers with instruments of musick, and such as taught to sing praise. Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and said, Treason, Treason.

23:13  Cumque vidisset regem stantem super gradum in introitu, et principes, turmasque circa eum, omnemque populum terræ gaudentem, atque clangentem tubis, et diversi generis organis concinentem, vocemque laudantium, scidit vestimenta sua, et ait : Insidiæ, insidiæ.

23:14  And Joiada the high priest going out to the captains, and the chiefs of the army, said to them: Take her forth without the precinct of the temple, and when she is without let her be killed with the sword. For the priest commanded that she should not be killed in the house of the Lord.

23:14  Then Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds that were set over the host, and said unto them, Have her forth of the ranges: and whoso followeth her, let him be slain with the sword. For the priest said, Slay her not in the house of the Lord.

23:14  Kněz Jójada vydal příkaz velitelům nad sty ustanoveným nad vojskem a řekl jim: Vyveďte ji z domu mezi řadami; ten, kdo by šel za ní, ať je usmrcen mečem. Kněz totiž řekl: Ať není usmrcena v Hospodinově domě.
