II C | DRC | 23:2 | And they went about Juda, and gathered together the Levites out of all the cities of Juda, and the chiefs of the families of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.
II C | VulgClem | 23:2 | Qui circumeuntes Judam, congregaverunt Levitas de cunctis urbibus Juda, et principes familiarum Israël, veneruntque in Jerusalem.
II C | KJV | 23:2 | And they went about in Judah, and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the chief of the fathers of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.
II C | DRC | 23:3 | And all the multitude made a covenant with the king in the house of God: and Joiada said to them: Behold the king's son shall reign, as the Lord hath said of the sons of David.
II C | VulgClem | 23:3 | Iniit ergo omnis multitudo pactum in domo Dei cum rege, dixitque ad eos Jojada : Ecce filius regis regnabit, sicut locutus est Dominus super filios David.
II C | KJV | 23:3 | And all the congregation made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And he said unto them, Behold, the king’s son shall reign, as the Lord hath said of the sons of David.
II C | DRC | 23:4 | And this is the thing that you shall do:
II C | VulgClem | 23:4 | Iste est ergo sermo quem facietis :
II C | KJV | 23:4 | This is the thing that ye shall do; A third part of you entering on the sabbath, of the priests and of the Levites, shall be porters of the doors;
II C | DRC | 23:5 | A third part of you that come to the sabbath, of the priests, and of the Levites, and of the porters shall be at the gates: and a third part at the king's house: and a third at the gate that is called the Foundation: but let all the rest of the people be in the courts of the house of the Lord.
II C | KJV | 23:5 | And a third part shall be at the king’s house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation: and all the people shall be in the courts of the house of the Lord.
II C | DRC | 23:6 | And let no one come into the house of the Lord, but the priests, and they that minister of the Levites: let them only come in, because they are sanctified: and let all the rest of the people keep the watches of the Lord.
II C | KJV | 23:6 | But let none come into the house of the Lord, save the priests, and they that minister of the Levites; they shall go in, for they are holy: but all the people shall keep the watch of the Lord.
II C | DRC | 23:7 | And let the Levites be round about the king, every man with his arms; and if any other come into the temple, let him be slain; and let them be with the king, both coming in, and going out.
II C | KJV | 23:7 | And the Levites shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand; and whosoever else cometh into the house, he shall be put to death: but be ye with the king when he cometh in, and when he goeth out.
II C | DRC | 23:8 | So the Levites, and all Juda did according to all that Joiada the high priest had commanded: and they took every one his men that were under him, and that came in by the course of the sabbath, with those who had fulfilled the sabbath, and were to go out. For Joiada the high priest permitted not the companies to depart, which were accustomed to succeed one another every week.
II C | KJV | 23:8 | So the Levites and all Judah did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest had commanded, and took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that were to go out on the sabbath: for Jehoiada the priest dismissed not the courses.
II C | DRC | 23:9 | And Joiada the priest gave to the captains the spears, and the shields, and targets of king David, which he had dedicated in the house of the Lord.

II C | VulgClem | 23:10 | Constituitque omnem populum tenentium pugiones a parte templi dextra, usque ad partem templi sinistram, coram altari et templo, per circuitum regis.
II C | KJV | 23:10 | And he set all the people, every man having his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the temple to the left side of the temple, along by the altar and the temple, by the king round about.
II C | DRC | 23:11 | And they brought out the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and the testimony, and gave him the law to hold in his hand, and they made him king: and Joiada the high priest and his sons anointed him: and they prayed for him, and said: God save the king.
II C | KJV | 23:11 | Then they brought out the king’s son, and put upon him the crown, and gave him the testimony, and made him king. And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him, and said, God save the king.

II C | KJV | 23:12 | Now when Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of the Lord:
II C | DRC | 23:13 | And when she saw the king standing upon the step in the entrance, and the princes, and the companies about him, and all the people of the land rejoicing, and sounding with trumpets, and playing on instruments of divers kinds, and the voice of those that praised, she rent her garments, and said: Treason, treason.
II C | VulgClem | 23:13 | Cumque vidisset regem stantem super gradum in introitu, et principes, turmasque circa eum, omnemque populum terræ gaudentem, atque clangentem tubis, et diversi generis organis concinentem, vocemque laudantium, scidit vestimenta sua, et ait : Insidiæ, insidiæ.
II C | KJV | 23:13 | And she looked, and, behold, the king stood at his pillar at the entering in, and the princes and the trumpets by the king: and all the people of the land rejoiced, and sounded with trumpets, also the singers with instruments of musick, and such as taught to sing praise. Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and said, Treason, Treason.
II C | DRC | 23:14 | And Joiada the high priest going out to the captains, and the chiefs of the army, said to them: Take her forth without the precinct of the temple, and when she is without let her be killed with the sword. For the priest commanded that she should not be killed in the house of the Lord.
Præcepitque sacerdos ne occideretur in domo Domini,
II C | KJV | 23:14 | Then Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds that were set over the host, and said unto them, Have her forth of the ranges: and whoso followeth her, let him be slain with the sword. For the priest said, Slay her not in the house of the Lord.
II C | DRC | 23:15 | And they laid hold on her by the neck: and when she was come within the horse gate of the palace, they killed her there.
II C | VulgClem | 23:15 | et imposuerunt cervicibus ejus manus : cumque intrasset portam equorum domus regis, interfecerunt eam ibi.

II C | VulgClem | 23:18 | Constituit autem Jojada præpositos in domo Domini sub manibus sacerdotum et Levitarum quos distribuit David in domo Domini, ut offerrent holocausta Domino, sicut scriptum est in lege Moysi, in gaudio et canticis, juxta dispositionem David.
II C | KJV | 23:18 | Also Jehoiada appointed the offices of the house of the Lord by the hand of the priests the Levites, whom David had distributed in the house of the Lord, to offer the burnt offerings of the Lord, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, as it was ordained by David.
