Chapter 21
II S DRC 21:1  And there was a famine in the days of David for three years successively: and David consulted the oracle of the Lord. And the Lord said: It is for Saul, and his bloody house, because he slow the Gabaonites.
II S KJV 21:1  Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the Lord. And the Lord answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
I hledal David tváři Hospodinovy.
II S Webster 21:1  Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David inquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, [It is] for Saul, and for [his] bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
II S NHEB 21:1  There was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David sought the face of the Lord. The Lord said, "It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put to death the Gibeonites."
II S AKJV 21:1  Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David inquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites.
II S VulgClem 21:1  Facta est quoque fames in diebus David tribus annis jugiter : et consuluit David oraculum Domini. Dixitque Dominus : Propter Saul, et domum ejus sanguinum, quia occidit Gabaonitas.
II S DRC 21:2  Then the king, calling for the Gabaonites, said to them: (Now the Gabaonites were not of the children of Israel, but the remains of the Amorrhites: and the children of Israel had sworn to them, and Saul sought to slay them out of zeal, as it were for the children of Israel and Juda:)
II S KJV 21:2  And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
II S CzeCEP 21:2  Král předvolal Gibeóňany a promluvil k nim.
II S CzeCSP 21:2  Král zavolal Gibeóňany a mluvil k nim.
II S Webster 21:2  And the king called the Gibeonites, and said to them; (now the Gibeonites [were] not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn to them: and Saul sought to slay them, in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
II S NHEB 21:2  The king called the Gibeonites, and said to them (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn to them: and Saul sought to kill them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah);
II S AKJV 21:2  And the king called the Gibeonites, and said to them; (now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn to them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Israel and Judah.)
II S DRC 21:3  David therefore said to the Gabaonites: What shall I do for you? and what shall be the atonement or you, that you may bless the inheritance of the Lord?
II S KJV 21:3  Wherefore David said unto the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the Lord?
II S CzeBKR 21:3  A řekl David Gabaonitským: Což vám učiním a čím vás spokojím, abyste dobrořečili dědictví Hospodinovu?
II S Webster 21:3  Wherefore David said to the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and with what shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
II S NHEB 21:3  and David said to the Gibeonites, "What shall I do for you? And with what shall I make atonement, that you may bless the inheritance of the Lord?"
II S AKJV 21:3  Why David said to the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? and with which shall I make the atonement, that you may bless the inheritance of the LORD?
II S DRC 21:4  And the Gabaonites said to him: We have no contest about silver and gold, but against Saul and against his house: neither do we desire that any man be slain of Israel. And the king said to them: What will you then that I should do for you?
II S KJV 21:4  And the Gibeonites said unto him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, that will I do for you.
II S CzeBKR 21:4  Odpověděli jemu Gabaonitští: Není nám o stříbro ani o zlato činiti s Saulem a domem jeho, ani o bezživotí někoho z Izraele. I řekl: Cožkoli díte, učiním vám.
II S Webster 21:4  And the Gibeonites said to him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shalt thou kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye shall say, [that] will I do for you.
II S NHEB 21:4  The Gibeonites said to him, "It is no matter of silver or gold between us and Saul, or his house; neither is it for us to put any man to death in Israel." He said, "Whatever you say, that will I do for you."
II S AKJV 21:4  And the Gibeonites said to him, We will have no silver nor gold of Saul, nor of his house; neither for us shall you kill any man in Israel. And he said, What you shall say, that will I do for you.
II S DRC 21:5  And they said to the king: The man that crushed us and oppressed us unjustly, we must destroy in such manner that there be not so much as one left of his stock in all the coasts of Israel.
II S KJV 21:5  And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,
II S CzeCEP 21:5  Odpověděli králi: „Za toho muže, který nás zamýšlel zničit a vyhladit, aby po nás v celém izraelském území nic nezůstalo,
II S CzeB21 21:5  Odpověděli mu: „Za toho muže, který nás chtěl zničit a vyhubit z celého izraelského území,
II S CzeCSP 21:5  Řekli králi: Od muže, který nás zničil a zamýšlel nás vyhubit, ⌈abychom nezůstali nikde⌉ na celém území Izraele --
II S CzeBKR 21:5  Kteříž řekli králi: Muže toho, kterýž vyhubil nás, a kterýž ukládal o nás, vyhladíme, aby nezůstal v žádných končinách Izraelských.
II S Webster 21:5  And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us [that] we should be destroyed from remaining within the borders of Israel,
II S NHEB 21:5  They said to the king, "The man who consumed us, and who devised against us, that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the borders of Israel,
II S AKJV 21:5  And they answered the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed from remaining in any of the coasts of Israel,

II S CzeB21 21:7  Král ovšem ušetřil Mefibošeta, syna Jonatana, syna Saulova, a to kvůli přísaze, kterou spolu kdysi David a Saulův syn Jonatan uzavřeli v Hospodinově jménu.
