12:1  Thou indeed, O Lord, art just, if I plead with thee, but yet I will speak what is just to thee: Why doth the way of the wicked prosper: why is it well with all them that transgress, and do wickedly?

12:1  Righteous art thou, O Lord, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

12:1  Spravedlivý zůstaneš, Hospodine, povedu-li odpor proti tobě, a však o soudech tvých mluviti budu s tebou. Proč se cestě bezbožníků šťastně vede? Mají pokoj všickni, kteříž se pyšně zpronevěřili.

12:2  Štěpuješ je, ano i vkořeňují se; rostou, ano i ovoce nesou ti, jejichžto úst blízko jsi, ale daleko od ledví jejich.

12:3  Ty mě, Hospodine, znáš a vidíš mě, zkoušíš mé srdce, je s tebou. Vytřiď je jak ovce na porážku, zasvěť je ke dni pobíjení.

12:3  Ty mě, Hospodine, znáš, vidíš mě a zkoušíš, zda jsem ti v srdci oddaný. Odvleč je jako ovce na jatka, odděl je pro den porážky!

12:4  Jak dlouho ještě bude země truchlit a bylina schnout na všech polích? Pro zlobu těch, kdo na ní bydlí, jsou vyhlazována zvířata i ptactvo. Ale říkají: „Do naší budoucnosti Bůh nevidí.“

12:4  Jak dlouho bude země vysychat a vadnout všechna zeleň na poli? Jak dlouho bude zvěře i ptáků ubývat, protože obyvatelé země jsou tak zlí? Přitom však říkají: „Do naší budoucnosti mu nic není!“

12:4  Dokdy bude země usychat a vadnout všechna polní zeleň? Pro zlo těch, kteří v ní bydlí, zmizela zvěř i ptactvo; a to proto, že řekli: On nevidí ⌈náš konec.⌉

12:4  Dokudž by žalostila země, a bylina všeho pole svadla pro zlost přebývajících v ní, a hynulo každé hovado i ptactvo? Nebo říkají: Nevidíť Bůh skončení našeho.

12:5  Když jsi běžel s pěšáky a unavili tě, jak chceš potom závodit s koňmi? Když se v pokojné zemi cítíš bezpečný, co budeš dělat v jordánské houštině?

12:5  Poněvadž tebe s pěšími běžícího k ustání přivodí, kterakž bys tedy stačil při koních? A poněvadž v zemi pokojné, jíž jsi se dověřil, ustáváš, což pak spravíš při tom zdutém Jordánu?

12:6  Vždyť i tvoji bratři a dům tvého otce se vůči tobě zachovali věrolomně. Také oni z plna hrdla za tebou volali. Nevěř jim, i když s tebou pěkně mluví.“

12:6  Tví vlastní bratři, tvoji příbuzní, právě oni tě zradili; křičeli na tebe z plných plic. Nevěř jim tedy, i kdyby s tebou pěkně mluvili.“

12:6  Vždyť i tvoji bratři a ⌈dům tvého otce,⌉ i oni tě podvedli, i oni za tebou hlasitě pokřikují. Nevěř jim, i když s tebou mluví hezky.

12:11  Stane se pouhou pustinou, opuštěná bude plakat přede mnou. Zpustošena bude celá zem, a nikdo si to k srdci nevezme.

12:11  Učinili ji zcela opuštěnou, zpustošená přede mnou truchlí. Celá země je zpustošená a ⌈nikdo si to nebere k srdci.⌉

12:11  Obrátí jej v pustinu. Kvíliti bude, spuštěn jsa ode mne; spustne všecka tato země, nebo není žádného, kdo by to v srdci skládal.

12:12  Všechny holé vrchy na poušti obsadí zhoubci, neboť Hospodinův meč pohltí celou zem od hranic k hranicím; žádný smrtelník nebude mít klid!

12:14  Toto praví Hospodin o všech mých zlých sousedech, kteří sahají na dědictví, jež dal Izraeli, svému lidu: „Hle, já je vyvrátím z jejich půdy, i dům Judův vyvrátím z jejich středu.

12:14  Tak praví Hospodin: „Pokud jde o všechny mé zločinné sousedy, kteří se sápou po dědictví, jež jsem dal svému lidu Izraeli – hle, vykořením je z jejich vlasti. A pokud jde o dům Judy, ten vykořením spolu s nimi.

12:14  Toto praví Hospodin: O všech mých zlých sousedech, kteří sahají na dědictví, jež jsem dal do vlastnictví svému lidu, Izraeli: Hle, vyrvu je z jejich země a dům judský vyrvu z jejich středu.

12:14  Takto praví Hospodin o všech mých sousedech zlých, jenž se dotýkají dědictví, kteréž jsem uvedl v dědictví lidu svému Izraelskému: Aj, já vypléním je z země jejich, když dům Judský vypléním z prostředku jejich.

12:14  Thus saith the LORD against all my evil neighbors, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

12:15  Až je vyvrátím, potom se nad nimi opět slituji a přivedu každého zpět do jeho dědictví v jeho zemi.

12:16  And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The Lord liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.

12:16  A jestliže by se pilně učili cestám mého lidu a přísahali při mém jménu: ‚Jakože živ je Hospodin‘, jak učili můj lid přísahat při Baalovi, pak jim bude zbudován dům mezi mým lidem.

12:16  Pokud se totiž naučí cestám mého lidu a začnou přísahat v mém jménu: ‚Jakože žije Hospodin‘ (tak jako předtím sami učili můj lid přísahat při Baalovi), pak budou obnoveni stejně jako můj lid.

12:16  A jestliže se opravdu naučí cestám mého lidu a budou přísahat v mém jménu: Jakože živ je Hospodin, tak jako učili můj lid přísahat při Baalovi, pak budou zbudováni uprostřed mého lidu.

12:16  Stane se také, jestliže by se pilně učili cestám lidu mého, a přisahali by ve jménu mém, říkajíce: Živť jest Hospodin, jakž oni učívali lid můj přisahati skrze Bále, že vzděláni budou u prostřed lidu mého.

12:16  And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD liveth; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people.

12:16  It shall happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, "As the Lord lives;" even as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built up in the midst of my people.

12:16  Et erit : si eruditi didicerint vias populi mei, ut jurent in nomine meo : Vivit Dominus ! sicut docuerunt populum meum jurare in Baal, ædificabuntur in medio populi mei.

12:17  But if they will not hear, I will utterly pluck out and destroy that nation, saith the Lord.

12:17  Jestliže však nebudou poslouchat, zcela vyvrátím onen pronárod a nechám jej zahynout, je výrok Hospodinův.“
