Chapter 42
Psal DRC 42:1  A psalm for David. Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation that is not holy: deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man.
Psal KJV 42:1  As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
Psal VulgClem 42:1  Psalmus David. Judica me, Deus, et discerne causam meam de gente non sancta : ab homine iniquo et doloso erue me.
Psal DRC 42:2  For thou art God my strength: why hast thou cast me off? and why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me?
Psal KJV 42:2  My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
Psal VulgClem 42:2  Quia tu es, Deus, fortitudo mea : quare me repulisti ? et quare tristis incedo, dum affligit me inimicus ?
Psal DRC 42:3  Sent forth thy light and thy truth: they have conducted me, and brought me unto thy holy hill, and into thy tabernacles.
Psal KJV 42:3  My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
Psal VulgClem 42:3  Emitte lucem tuam et veritatem tuam : ipsa me deduxerunt, et adduxerunt in montem sanctum tuum, et in tabernacula tua.
Psal DRC 42:4  And I will go in to the altar of God: to God who giveth joy to my youth.
Psal KJV 42:4  When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
Psal VulgClem 42:4  Et introibo ad altare Dei, ad Deum qui lætificat juventutem meam. Confitebor tibi in cithara, Deus, Deus meus.
Psal DRC 42:5  To thee, O God my God, I will give praise upon the harp: why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou disquiet me?
Psal KJV 42:5  Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
Psal VulgClem 42:5  Quare tristis es, anima mea ? et quare conturbas me ? Spera in Deo, quoniam adhuc confitebor illi, salutare vultus mei, et Deus meus.
Psal DRC 42:6  Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance, and my God.
Psal KJV 42:6  O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
