Chapter 63
Psal DRC 63:1  Unto the end, a psalm for David.
Psal VulgClem 63:1  In finem. Psalmus David.
Psal KJV 63:1  O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
Psal DRC 63:2  Hear O God, my prayer, when I make supplication to thee: deliver my soul from the fear of the enemy.
Psal VulgClem 63:2  Exaudi, Deus, orationem meam cum deprecor ; a timore inimici eripe animam meam.
Psal KJV 63:2  To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Psal DRC 63:3  Thou hast protected me from the assembly of the malignant; from the multitude of the workers of iniquity.
Psal VulgClem 63:3  Protexisti me a conventu malignantium, a multitudine operantium iniquitatem.
Psal KJV 63:3  Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Psal DRC 63:4  For they have whetted their tongues like a sword; they have bent their bow a bitter thing,
Psal VulgClem 63:4  Quia exacuerunt ut gladium linguas suas ; intenderunt arcum rem amaram,
Psal KJV 63:4  Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
Psal DRC 63:5  To shoot in secret the undefiled.
Psal VulgClem 63:5  ut sagittent in occultis immaculatum.
Psal KJV 63:5  My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
Psal DRC 63:6  They will shoot at him on a sudden, and will not fear: they are resolute in wickedness. They have talked of hiding snares; they have said: Who shall see them?
Psal VulgClem 63:6  Subito sagittabunt eum, et non timebunt ; firmaverunt sibi sermonem nequam. Narraverunt ut absconderent laqueos ; dixerunt : Quis videbit eos ?
Psal KJV 63:6  When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
Psal DRC 63:7  They have searched after iniquities: they have failed in their search. Man shall come to a deep heart:
Psal VulgClem 63:7  Scrutati sunt iniquitates ; defecerunt scrutantes scrutinio. Accedet homo ad cor altum,
Psal KJV 63:7  Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
Psal DRC 63:8  And God shall be exalted. The arrows of children are their wounds:
Psal VulgClem 63:8  et exaltabitur Deus. Sagittæ parvulorum factæ sunt plagæ eorum,
Psal KJV 63:8  My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
Psal DRC 63:9  And their tongues against them are made weak. All that saw them were troubled;
Psal VulgClem 63:9  et infirmatæ sunt contra eos linguæ eorum. Conturbati sunt omnes qui videbant eos,
Psal KJV 63:9  But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
Psal DRC 63:10  And every man was afraid. And they declared the works of God, and understood his doings.
Psal VulgClem 63:10  et timuit omnis homo. Et annuntiaverunt opera Dei, et facta ejus intellexerunt.
Psal KJV 63:10  They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
Psal DRC 63:11  The just shall rejoice in the Lord, and shall hope in him: and all the upright in heart shall be praised.
Psal VulgClem 63:11  Lætabitur justus in Domino, et sperabit in eo, et laudabuntur omnes recti corde.
Psal KJV 63:11  But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
