6:2  Filištíni svolali své kněze a věštce: „Co máme dělat s Hospodinovou truhlou?“ ptali se. „Oznamte nám, jak ji máme poslat, kam patří.“

6:2  Pak Pelištejci svolali kněze a věštce a řekli: Co máme udělat s Hospodinovou truhlou? Poučte nás, jak ji máme poslat na její místo.

6:2  Tedy Filistinští povolavše kněží a hadačů, řekli: Co učiníme s truhlou Hospodinovou? Oznamte nám, kterak bychom ji odeslali na místo její?

6:3  If you send back the ark of the God of Israel, send it not away empty, but render unto him what you owe for sin, and then you shall be healed: and you shall know why his hand departeth not from you.

6:3  And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any wise return him a trespass offering: then ye shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why his hand is not removed from you.

6:3  Ti jim odpověděli: „Jestliže budete posílat schránu Boha Izraele, nesmíte ji poslat s prázdnou. Musíte jí přinést oběť za provinění. Teprve pak budete uzdraveni a bude vám zřejmé, proč se jeho ruka od vás neodvracela.“

6:3  Ti odpověděli: „Až budete odesílat truhlu izraelského boha, neodesílejte ji s prázdnou. Rozhodně ji musíte poslat zpátky s odškodněním. Tak se uzdravíte a poznáte, proč se jeho ruka od vás neodvracela.“

6:3  Odpověděli: Když budete posílat truhlu Boha Izraele pryč, neposílejte ji s prázdnou, nýbrž určitě ji vraťte s obětí za vinu. Tehdy budete uzdraveni a ⌈bude vám dáno poznat,⌉ proč se jeho ruka od vás neodvrátila.

6:3  Kteříž odpověděli: Jestliže odešlete truhlu Boha Izraelského, neodsílejte jí prázdné, ale všelijak dejte jí obět za provinění; tehdy uzdraveni budete, a poznáte, proč ruka jeho neodešla od vás.

6:3  And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any wise return him a trespass-offering: then ye will be healed, and it will be known to you why his hand is not removed from you.

6:4  They answered: What is it we ought to render unto him for sin? and they answered:

6:4  Then said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your lords.

6:4  Dále se tázali: „Jakou oběť za provinění jí máme přinést?“ A oni řekli: „Pět zlatých nádorů a pět zlatých myší podle počtu pelištejských knížat, neboť stejná pohroma postihla všechny, i vaše knížata.

6:4  „A jaké odškodnění s ní máme poslat zpět?“ otázali se. „Pět zlatých nádorů a pět zlatých krys podle počtu filištínských vládců,“ zněla odpověď, „neboť tatáž pohroma postihla všechny včetně vašich vládců.

6:4  Nato řekli: ⌈Jakou oběť za vinu s ní máme poslat?⌉ Odpověděli: Podle počtu pelištejských knížat pět zlatých nádorů a pět zlatých myší, neboť stejná rána dopadla na všechny i na vaše knížata.

6:4  I řekli: Jakáž jest to obět za hřích, kterouž jí dáti máme? Odpověděli: Vedlé počtu knížat Filistinských pět zadků zlatých a pět myší zlatých; nebo rána jednostejná jest na všechněch, i na knížatech vašich.

6:4  Then said they, What [shall be] the trespass-offering which we shall return to him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, [according to] the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague [was] on you all, and on your lords.

6:5  According to the number of the provinces of the Philistines you shall make five golden emerods, and five golden mice: for the same plague hath been upon you all, and upon your lords. And you shall make the likeness of your emerods, and the likeness of the mice, that have destroyed the land, and you shall give glory to the God of Israel: to see if he will take off his hand from you, and from your gods, and from your land.

6:5  Wherefore ye shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give glory unto the God of Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.

6:5  Uděláte napodobeniny svých nádorů a napodobeniny svých myší, které přinášejí zemi zkázu, a vzdáte přitom slávu Bohu Izraele. Snad nadlehčí svou ruku, která dolehla na vás, na vaše bohy a na vaši zemi.

6:5  Wherefore ye shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give glory to the God of Israel: it may be he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.

6:9  And you shall look: and if it go up by the way of his own coasts, towards Bethsames, then he hath done us this great evil: but if not, we shall know that it is not his hand hath touched us, but it hath happened by chance.

6:9  And see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Beth–shemesh, then he hath done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that smote us; it was a chance that happened to us.

6:9  a uvidíte: Jestliže bude směřovat ke svému území do Bét-šemeše, pak nám způsobil toto veliké zlo on; jestliže nikoli, tedy poznáme, že nás neranila jeho ruka, ale stalo se nám to náhodou.“

6:9  And see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Beth-shemesh, [then] he hath done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know, that [it is] not his hand [that] smote us; it [was] a chance [that] happened to us.

6:9  And watch; if it goes up by the way of its own territory to Beth Shemesh, then he has done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that struck us; it was a chance that happened to us."

6:10  They did therefore in this manner: and taking two kine, that had sucking calves, they yoked them to the cart, and shut up their calves at home.

6:12  Krávy zamířily přímou cestou na Bét-šemeš, šly stále po téže silnici a bučely, neuchýlily se napravo ani nalevo. Pelištejská knížata šla za nimi až k území Bét-šemeše.

6:12  I šly upřímo krávy cestou, kteráž vede do Betsemes, silnicí jednou předce jdouce a řičíce, aniž se uchýlily na pravo aneb na levo. Knížata také Filistinská šla za nimi až ku pomezí Betsemes.

6:12  And the cows took the straight way to the way of Beth-shemesh, [and] went along the highway, lowing as they went, and turned not aside [to] the right hand or [to] the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them to the border of Beth-shemesh.

6:13  Now the Bethsamites were reaping wheat in the valley: and lifting up their eyes, they saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it.

6:14  Vůz dojel na pole Jóšuy Bétšemešského a tam se zastavil. Byl tam veliký kámen. I rozštípali dříví vozu a obětovali krávy Hospodinu v zápalnou oběť.

6:14  Vůz dojel až k poli Jošuy Betšemešského a zastavil tam u velikého kamene. Místní pak ten vůz rozštípali na dříví a krávy přinesli jako zápalnou oběť Hospodinu.

6:14  A když přijel vůz na pole Jozue Betsemského, tu se zastavil. I byl tu kámen veliký. Tedy zsekavše dříví vozu toho i ty krávy, obětovali je v obět zápalnou Hospodinu.

6:14  And the cart came into the field of Joshua, a Beth-shemite, and stood there, where [there was] a great stone: and they cleaved the wood of the cart, and offered the cows a burnt-offering to the LORD.

6:15  And the Levites took down the ark of God, and the little box that was at the side of it, wherein were the vessels of gold, and they put them upon the great stone. The men also of Bethsames offered holocausts, and sacrificed victims that day to the Lord.

6:19  Hospodin pak zabil některé z bétšemešských mužů, protože se podívali do Hospodinovy truhly. Zabil v lidu sedmdesát mužů ⌈z padesáti tisíc mužů.⌉ A lid truchlil, protože Hospodin ranil lid velikou ranou.

6:19  Pobil pak Hospodin z mužů Betsemských, kteříž hleděli do truhly Hospodinovy, pobil, pravím, z lidu padesát tisíců a sedmdesáte mužů. I kvílil lid, proto že učinil Hospodin v lidu porážku velikou.

6:19  And he smote the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and seventy men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten [many] of the people with a great slaughter.
