Chapter 12
Judg DRC 12:1  But behold there arose a sedition in Ephraim. And passing towards the north, they said to Jephte: When thou wentest to fight against the children of Ammon, why wouldst thou not call us, that we might go with thee? Therefore we will burn thy house.
Judg KJV 12:1  And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire.
Judg CzeCEP 12:1  I svolali se efrajimští muži a táhli k severu. Vyčítali Jiftáchovi: „Proč jsi táhl do boje proti Amónovcům a nezavolal jsi nás, abychom šli s tebou? Zapálíme ti dům nad hlavou!“
Judg CzeB21 12:1  Efraimští muži se zatím sešikovali a překročili Jordán směrem k Cafonu. „Proč jsi nás nepozval, abychom šli s tebou, když jsi táhl do boje proti Amoncům?“ vyčítali Jiftachovi. „Zapálíme ti dům nad hlavou!“
Judg CzeCSP 12:1  Efrajimští ⌈muži byli svoláni, táhli⌉ na sever a řekli Jiftáchovi: Proč jsi táhl bojovat proti synům Amónovým, a nás jsi nezavolal, abychom šli s tebou? Tvůj dům nad tebou spálíme ohněm.
Judg CzeBKR 12:1  Shromáždili se pak muži Efraim, a přešedše k straně půlnoční, řekli k Jefte: Proč jsi vyšel k boji proti Ammonitským, a nepovolal jsi nás, abychom šli s tebou? Dům tvůj i tebe ohněm spálíme.
Judg Webster 12:1  And the men of Ephraim assembled, and went northward, and said to Jephthah, Why didst thou pass over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee; we will burn thy house upon thee with fire.
Judg NHEB 12:1  The men of Ephraim were gathered together, and passed northward; and they said to Jephthah, "Why did you pass over to fight against the children of Ammon, and did not call us to go with you? We will burn your house on you with fire."
Judg AKJV 12:1  And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said to Jephthah, Why passed you over to fight against the children of Ammon, and did not call us to go with you? we will burn your house on you with fire.
Judg DRC 12:2  And he answered them: I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon: and I called you to assist me, and you would not do it.
Judg KJV 12:2  And Jephthah said unto them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands.
Judg CzeCEP 12:2  Jiftách jim odpověděl: „Já i můj lid jsme měli s Amónovci těžký spor.
Judg Webster 12:2  And Jephthah said to them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, ye delivered me not out of their hands.
Judg NHEB 12:2  Jephthah said to them, "I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, you did not save me out of their hand.
Judg AKJV 12:2  And Jephthah said to them, I and my people were at great strife with the children of Ammon; and when I called you, you delivered me not out of their hands.
Judg VulgClem 12:2  Quibus ille respondit : Disceptatio erat mihi et populo meo contra filios Ammon vehemens : vocavique vos, ut præberetis mihi auxilium, et facere noluistis.
Judg DRC 12:3  And when I saw this, I put my life in my own hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon and the Lord delivered them into my hands. What have I deserved, that you should rise up to fight against me?
Judg KJV 12:3  And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the Lord delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?
Judg Webster 12:3  And when I saw that ye delivered [me] not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: why then have ye come up to me this day, to fight against me?
Judg NHEB 12:3  When I saw that you did not save me, I put my life in my own hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the Lord delivered them into my hand. Why then have you come up to me this day, to fight against me?"
Judg AKJV 12:3  And when I saw that you delivered me not, I put my life in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the LORD delivered them into my hand: why then are you come up to me this day, to fight against me?
Judg VulgClem 12:3  Quod cernens, posui animam meam in manibus meis, transivique ad filios Ammon, et tradidit eos Dominus in manus meas. Quid commerui, ut adversum me consurgatis in prælium ?
Judg DRC 12:4  Then calling to him all the men of Galaad, he fought against Ephraim: and the men of Galaad defeated Ephraim, because he had said: Galaad is a fugitive of Ephraim, and dwelleth in the midst of Ephraim and Manasses.
Judg KJV 12:4  Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites.
Judg CzeCEP 12:4  Jiftách shromáždil všechny gileádské muže, bojoval s Efrajimem a gileádští muži Efrajima pobili.
Judg CzeCSP 12:4  Pak Jiftách shromáždil všechny gileádské muže, bojoval s Efrajimem a gileádští muži pobili Efrajimce, protože řekli: Vy Gileáďané jste efrajimští uprchlíci ⌈uprostřed Efrajima a uprostřed Manasesa.⌉
Judg CzeBKR 12:4  Tedy shromáždil Jefte všecky muže Galádské, a bojoval s Efraimem. I porazili muži Galád Efraimské, nebo pravili poběhlci Efraimští: Vy Galádští jste u prostřed Efraima a u prostřed Manassesa.
Judg Webster 12:4  Then Jephthah collected all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, Ye Gileadites [are] fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, [and] among the Manassites.
Judg NHEB 12:4  Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim; and the men of Gilead struck Ephraim, because they said, "You are fugitives of Ephraim, you Gileadites, in the midst of Ephraim, and in the midst of Manasseh."
Judg AKJV 12:4  Then Jephthah gathered together all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim: and the men of Gilead smote Ephraim, because they said, You Gileadites are fugitives of Ephraim among the Ephraimites, and among the Manassites.
Judg DRC 12:5  And the Galaadites secured the fords of the Jordan, by which Ephraim was to return. And when any one of the number of Ephraim came thither in the flight, and said: I beseech you let me pass: the Galaadites said to him: Art thou not an Ephraimite? If he said: I am not:
Judg KJV 12:5  And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said unto him, Art thou an Ephraimite? If he said, Nay;
Judg CzeCEP 12:5  Gileád dobyl na Efrajimovi jordánské brody. Když nyní řekl někdo z efrajimských uprchlíků: „Rád bych se přebrodil“, zeptali se ho gileádští muži: „Jsi Efratejec?“ Jestliže odvětil „Nejsem“,
Judg CzeB21 12:5  Gileáďané tehdy Efraimcům obsadili jordánské brody, a kdykoli někdo z efraimských uprchlíků žádal: „Nechte mě přejít,“ Gileáďané se ho ptali: „Nejsi Efraimec?“ Když odpověděl: „Nejsem,“
Judg CzeBKR 12:5  Odjali Galádští též i brody Jordánské Efraimským.
Judg Webster 12:5  And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was [so], that when those Ephraimites who had escaped, said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said to him, [Art] thou an Ephraimite? If he said, No;
Judg NHEB 12:5  The Gileadites took the fords of the Jordan against the Ephraimites. It was so, that when any of the fugitives of Ephraim said, "Let me go over," the men of Gilead said to him, "Are you an Ephraimite?" If he said, "No";
Judg AKJV 12:5  And the Gileadites took the passages of Jordan before the Ephraimites: and it was so, that when those Ephraimites which were escaped said, Let me go over; that the men of Gilead said to him, Are you an Ephraimite? If he said, No;
Judg DRC 12:6  They asked him: Say then, Scibboleth, which is interpreted, An ear of corn. But he answered, Sibboleth, not being able to express an ear of corn by the same letter. Then presently they took him and killed him in the very passage of the Jordan. And there fell at that time of Ephraim, two and forty thousand.
Judg KJV 12:6  Then said they unto him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.
Judg CzeCEP 12:6  vyzvali ho: „Tak řekni šibbolet!“ On však řekl: „Sibbolet“ a nedokázal to přesně vyslovit. Tu ho popadli a zabili při jordánských brodech. Toho času padlo z Efrajima čtyřicet dva tisíce mužů.
Judg CzeB21 12:6  vyzvali ho: „Tak řekni: Šibolet.“ Když ale řekl: Sibolet (protože to neuměl vyslovit správně), popadli ho a zamordovali. Tenkrát u těch jordánských brodů padlo 42 000 Efraimců.
Judg CzeCSP 12:6  poručili mu: Tak řekni: Šibbolet. Pokud řekl: Sibbolet a nedokázal to vyslovit správně, chytili ho a zabili ho tam u jordánských brodů. V oné době padlo z Efrajima čtyřicet dva tisíce mužů.
Judg CzeBKR 12:6  Tedy řekli jemu: Rci hned Šibolet. I řekl: Sibolet, aniž dobře mohl vyřknouti toho. Tedy pochytíce jej, zamordovali ho u brodu Jordánského. I padlo toho času z Efraima čtyřidceti a dva tisíce.
Judg Webster 12:6  Then said they to him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce [it] right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan. And there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.
Judg NHEB 12:6  then they said to him, "Now say 'Shibboleth;'" and he said "Sibboleth"; for he couldn't manage to pronounce it right: then they seized him, and killed him at the fords of the Jordan. There fell at that time of Ephraim forty-two thousand.
Judg AKJV 12:6  Then said they to him, Say now Shibboleth: and he said Sibboleth: for he could not frame to pronounce it right. Then they took him, and slew him at the passages of Jordan: and there fell at that time of the Ephraimites forty and two thousand.
Statimque apprehensum jugulabant in ipso Jordanis transitu. Et ceciderunt in illo tempore de Ephraim quadraginta duo millia.
