Chapter 142
Psal DRC 142:1  A psalm of David, when his son Absalom pursued him. Hear, O Lord, my prayer: give ear to my supplication in thy truth: hear me in thy justice.
Psal KJV 142:1  I cried unto the Lord with my voice; with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication.
Psal VulgClem 142:1  Psalmus David, quando persequebatur eum Absalom filius ejus. Domine, exaudi orationem meam ; auribus percipe obsecrationem meam in veritate tua ; exaudi me in tua justitia.
Psal DRC 142:2  And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight no man living shall be justified.
Psal KJV 142:2  I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.
Psal VulgClem 142:2  Et non intres in judicium cum servo tuo, quia non justificabitur in conspectu tuo omnis vivens.
Psal DRC 142:3  For the enemy hath persecuted my soul: he hath brought down my life to the earth. He hath made me to dwell in darkness as those that have been dead of old:
Psal KJV 142:3  When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.
Psal VulgClem 142:3  Quia persecutus est inimicus animam meam ; humiliavit in terra vitam meam ; collocavit me in obscuris, sicut mortuos sæculi.
Psal DRC 142:4  And my spirit is in anguish within me: my heart within me is troubled.
Psal KJV 142:4  I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.
Psal VulgClem 142:4  Et anxiatus est super me spiritus meus ; in me turbatum est cor meum.
Psal DRC 142:5  I remembered the days of old, I meditated on all thy works: I meditated upon the works of thy hands.
Psal KJV 142:5  I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
Psal VulgClem 142:5  Memor fui dierum antiquorum ; meditatus sum in omnibus operibus tuis : in factis manuum tuarum meditabar.
Psal DRC 142:6  I stretched forth my hands to thee: my soul is as earth without water unto thee.
Psal KJV 142:6  Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.
Psal VulgClem 142:6  Expandi manus meas ad te ; anima mea sicut terra sine aqua tibi.
Psal DRC 142:7  Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit hath fainted away. Turn not away thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
Psal KJV 142:7  Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.
Psal VulgClem 142:7  Velociter exaudi me, Domine ; defecit spiritus meus. Non avertas faciem tuam a me, et similis ero descendentibus in lacum.
Psal DRC 142:8  Cause me to hear thy mercy in the morning; for in thee have I hoped. Make the way known to me, wherein I should walk: for I have lifted up my soul to thee.

Psal VulgClem 142:8  Auditam fac mihi mane misericordiam tuam, quia in te speravi. Notam fac mihi viam in qua ambulem, quia ad te levavi animam meam.
Psal DRC 142:9  Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord, to thee have I fled:

Psal VulgClem 142:9  Eripe me de inimicis meis, Domine : ad te confugi.
Psal DRC 142:10  Teach me to do thy will, for thou art my God. Thy good spirit shall lead me into the right land:

Psal VulgClem 142:10  Doce me facere voluntatem tuam, quia Deus meus es tu. Spiritus tuus bonus deducet me in terram rectam.
Psal DRC 142:11  for thy name's sake, O Lord, thou wilt quicken me in thy justice. Thou wilt bring my soul out of trouble:

Psal VulgClem 142:11  Propter nomen tuum, Domine, vivificabis me : in æquitate tua, educes de tribulatione animam meam,
Psal DRC 142:12  And in thy mercy thou wilt destroy my enemies. And thou wilt cut off all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.

Psal VulgClem 142:12  et in misericordia tua disperdes inimicos meos, et perdes omnes qui tribulant animam meam, quoniam ego servus tuus sum.
