Chapter 11
Zech DRC 11:1  Open thy gates, O Libanus, and let fire devour thy cedars.
Zech KJV 11:1  Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.
Zech VulgClem 11:1  Aperi, Libane, portas tuas, et comedat ignis cedros tuas.
Zech DRC 11:2  Howl, thou fir tree, for the cedar is fallen, for the mighty are laid waste: howl, ye oaks of Basan, because the fenced forest is cut down.
Zech KJV 11:2  Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down.
Zech VulgClem 11:2  Ulula, abies, quia cecidit cedrus, quoniam magnifici vastati sunt : ululate, quercus Basan, quoniam succisus est saltus munitus.
Zech DRC 11:3  The voice of the howling of the shepherds, because their glory is laid waste: the voice of the roaring of the lions, because the pride of the Jordan is spoiled.
Zech KJV 11:3  There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.
Zech VulgClem 11:3  Vox ululatus pastorum, quia vastata est magnificentia eorum : vox rugitus leonum, quoniam vastata est superbia Jordanis.
Zech DRC 11:4  Thus saith the Lord my God: Feed the flock of the slaughter,
Zech KJV 11:4  Thus saith the Lord my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;
Zech VulgClem 11:4  Hæc dicit Dominus Deus meus : Pasce pecora occisionis,
Zech DRC 11:5  Which they that possessed, slew, and repented not, and they sold them, saying: Blessed be the Lord, we are become rich: and their shepherds spared them not.
Zech KJV 11:5  Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the Lord; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.
Zech DRC 11:6  And I will no more spare the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord: behold I will deliver the men, every one into his neighbour's hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall destroy the land, and I will not deliver it out of their hand.
Zech KJV 11:6  For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord: but, lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour’s hand, and into the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.
Zech DRC 11:7  And I will feed the flock of slaughter for this, O ye poor of the flock. And I took unto me two rods, one I called Beauty, and the other I called a Cord, and I fed the flock.
Zech KJV 11:7  And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.
Zech DRC 11:8  And I cut off three shepherds in one month, and my soul was straitened in their regard: for their soul also varied in my regard.
Zech KJV 11:8  Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them, and their soul also abhorred me.
Zech VulgClem 11:8  Et succidi tres pastores in mense uno, et contracta est anima mea in eis, siquidem et anima eorum variavit in me.
Zech DRC 11:9  And I said: I will not feed you: that which dieth, let it die: and that which is cut off, let it be cut off: and let the rest devour every one the flesh of his neighbour.
Zech KJV 11:9  Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.
Zech DRC 11:10  And I took my rod that was called Beauty, and I cut it asunder to make void my covenant, which I had made with all people.
Zech KJV 11:10  And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.
Zech DRC 11:11  And it was made void in that day: and so the poor of the flock that keep for me, understood that it is the word of the Lord.
Zech KJV 11:11  And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the Lord.
Zech VulgClem 11:11  Et in irritum deductum est in die illa : et cognoverunt sic pauperes gregis, qui custodiunt mihi, quia verbum Domini est.
Zech DRC 11:12  And I said to them: If it be good in your eyes, bring hither my wages: and if not, be quiet. And they weighed for my wages thirty pieces of silver.
Zech KJV 11:12  And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
Zech DRC 11:13  And the Lord said to me: Cast it to the statuary, a handsome price, that I was prized at by them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and I cast them into the house of the Lord to the statuary.
Zech KJV 11:13  And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.
Zech DRC 11:14  And I cut off my second rod that was called a Cord, that I might break the brotherhood between Juda and Israel.
Zech KJV 11:14  Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
Zech DRC 11:15  And the Lord said to me: Take to thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.
Zech KJV 11:15  And the Lord said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.
Zech VulgClem 11:15  Et dixit Dominus ad me : Adhuc sume tibi vasa pastoris stulti.
Zech DRC 11:16  For behold I will raise up a shepherd in the land, who shall not visit what is forsaken, nor seek what is scattered, nor heal what is broken, nor nourish that which standeth, and he shall eat the flesh of the fat ones, and break their hoofs.
Zech KJV 11:16  For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.
Zech DRC 11:17  O shepherd, and idol, that forsaketh the flock: the sword upon his arm and upon his right eye: his arm shall quite wither away, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.
Zech KJV 11:17  Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.
Zech VulgClem 11:17  O pastor, et idolum derelinquens gregem : gladius super brachium ejus, et super oculum dextrum ejus : brachium ejus ariditate siccabitur, et oculus dexter ejus tenebrescens obscurabitur.
