7:1  In the first year of Baltasar, king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream: and the vision of his head was upon his bed: and writing the dream, he comprehended it in a few words: and relating the sum of it in short, he said:

7:1  V prvním roce vlády Belšasara, krále babylónského, viděl Daniel sen, vidění mu prošla hlavou na jeho lůžku. Hned tedy v hlavních rysech ten sen popsal.

7:1  V prvním roce babylonského krále Belšasara měl Daniel ve snu vidění. To, co v mysli spatřil na lůžku, pak sepsal. Zde začíná záznam onoho snu:

7:7  Potom jsem v nočním vidění viděl, hle, čtvrté zvíře, strašné, příšerné a mimořádně mocné. Mělo veliké železné zuby, žralo a drtilo a zbytek rozšlapávalo svýma nohama. Bylo odlišné ode všech předešlých zvířat a mělo deset rohů.

7:7  Potom to noční vidění pokračovalo a hle, spatřil jsem čtvrtou šelmu. Byla děsivá a hrozná a měla strašnou sílu. Svými obrovskými železnými zuby hltala a drtila a zbytek rozdupávala nohama. Lišila se od všech šelem, které ji předcházely, a měla deset rohů.

7:7  Po tomto jsem v oněch nočních viděních přihlížel dále a hle, čtvrtá šelma strašlivá, úděsná a neobyčejně silná. Měla veliké železné zuby. Požírala, drtila a to ostatní svýma nohama pošlapávala. Ta byla ale odlišná ode všech šelem, které byly před ní, a měla deset rohů.

7:7  Potom viděl jsem u viděních nočních, a aj, šelma čtvrtá strašlivá a hrozná a velmi silná, mající zuby železné veliké, kteráž zžírala a potírala, ostatek pak nohama svýma pošlapávala; a ta byla rozdílná ode všech šelm, kteréž byly před ní, a měla rohů deset.

7:9  Viděl jsem, že byly postaveny stolce a že usedl Věkovitý. Jeho oblek byl bílý jako sníh, vlasy jeho hlavy jako čistá vlna, jeho stolec - plameny ohně, jeho kola - hořící oheň.
