20:3  And God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and he said to him: Lo thou shalt die for the woman that thou hast taken: for she hath a husband.

20:3  Té noci však přišel k abímelekovi ve snu Bůh a řekl mu: „Kvůli ženě, kterou sis vzal, zemřeš; vždyť je provdaná.“

20:3  V noci ale k Abimelechovi ve snu přišel Bůh a řekl mu: „Kvůli ženě, kterou sis vzal, teď zemřeš. Vždyť je vdaná za jiného muže!“

20:3  But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou [art but] a dead man, on account of the woman whom thou hast taken: for she [is] a man's wife.

20:4  Now Abimelech had not touched her, and he said: Lord, wilt thou slay a nation that is ignorant and just?

20:4  But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation?

20:5  Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this.

20:5  Což mi on sám neřekl: ‚To je má sestra‘ ? Ano, i ona řekla: ‚To je můj bratr‘. Učinil jsem to v bezúhonnosti srdce a s čistýma rukama.“

20:5  Cožpak mi sám neřekl: ‚Je to má sestra‘? I ona sama přece říkala: ‚Je to můj bratr.‘ Udělal jsem to s poctivým úmyslem. Mám čisté ruce!“

20:5  Což mi on neřekl: Je to má sestra? A také ona sama řekla: Je to můj bratr. ⌈S bezúhonným srdcem⌉ a v čistotě rukou jsem to udělal.

20:5  Zdaliž mi sám nepravil: Sestra má jest? A ona též pravila: Bratr můj jest. V upřímnosti srdce svého a v nevinnosti rukou svých učinil jsem to.

20:5  Said he not to me, She [is] my sister? and she, even she herself said, He [is] my brother: in the integrity of my heart, and innocence of my hands have I done this.

20:5  nonne ipse dixit mihi : Soror mea est : et ipsa ait : Frater meus est ? In simplicitate cordis mei, et munditia manuum mearum feci hoc.

20:6  And God said to him: And I know that thou didst it with a sincere heart: and therefore I withheld thee from sinning against me, and I suffered thee not to touch her.

20:6  And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her.

20:6  A Bůh mu ve snu odvětil: „I já vím, že jsi to učinil v bezúhonnosti srdce a sám jsem ti zabránil, aby ses proti mně neprohřešil; proto jsem ti nedovolil dotknout se jí.

20:6  I řekl jemu Bůh ve snách: Jáť také vím, že v upřímnosti srdce svého učinil jsi to, a já také zdržel jsem tě, abys nezhřešil proti mně; protož nedalť jsem se jí dotknouti.

20:6  And God said to him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore I suffered thee not to touch her.

20:7  Now therefore restore the man his wife, for he is a prophet: and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: but if thou wilt not restore her, know that thou shalt surely die, thou and all that are thine.

20:7  Now therefore restore to the man [his] wife, for he [is] a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou shalt not restore [her], know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou and all that [are] thine.

20:8  And Abimelech forthwith rising up in the night, called all his servants: and spoke all these words in their hearing, and all the men were exceedingly afraid.

20:8  Therefore Abimelech rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in their ears: and the men were sore afraid.

20:8  Za časného jitra svolal abímelek všechny své služebníky a všechno jim vypověděl; a ty muže pojala velká bázeň.

20:9  And Abimelech called also for Abraham, and said to him: What hast thou done to us? what have we offended thee in, that thou hast brought upon me and upon my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done to us what thou oughtest not to do.

20:9  Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.

20:9  Abímelek tedy zavolal Abrahama a řekl mu: „Jak ses to k nám zachoval? Čím jsem se proti tobě prohřešil, že jsi na mne a na mé království uvedl takový hřích? Dopustil ses u mne něčeho, co se přece nedělá.“

20:9  Abimelech si potom zavolal Abrahama a řekl mu: „Cos nám to udělal? Čím jsem se proti tobě provinil, že jsi na mě a na mé království přivedl tak veliký hřích? To, cos mi udělal, se nedělá!“

20:9  Abímelek zavolal Abrahama a řekl mu: Cos nám to provedl? Čím jsem se vůči tobě prohřešil, že jsi na mne a na mé království uvedl tak veliký hřích? Zachoval ses ke mně tak, jak se nejedná!

20:9  Potom povolav Abimelech Abrahama, řekl jemu: Co jsi nám to učinil? A co jsem zhřešil proti tobě, že jsi uvedl na mne a na království mé hřích veliký? Učinils mi, čehož jsi učiniti neměl.

20:9  Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, What has thou done to us? and in what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds to me that ought not to be done.

20:9  Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, "What have you done to us? How have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done!"

20:9  Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him, What have you done to us? and what have I offended you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? you have done deeds to me that ought not to be done.

20:9  Vocavit autem Abimelech etiam Abraham, et dixit ei : Quid fecisti nobis ? quid peccavimus in te, quia induxisti super me et super regnum meum peccatum grande ? quæ non debuisti facere, fecisti nobis.

20:10  And again he expostulated with him, and said: What sawest thou, that thou hast done this?

20:10  Rursumque expostulans, ait : Quid vidisti, ut hoc faceres ?

20:11  Abraham answered: I thought with myself, saying: Perhaps there is not the fear of God in this place: and they will kill me for the sake of my wife:

20:11  And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife’s sake.

20:11  Abraham odvětil: „Řekl jsem si, že na tomto místě určitě není bázeň Boží a že mě kvůli mé ženě zabijí.

20:11  Respondit Abraham : Cogitavi mecum, dicens : Forsitan non est timor Dei in loco isto : et interficient me propter uxorem meam :

20:12  Howbeit, otherwise also she is truly my sister, the daughter of my father, and not the daughter of my mother, and I took her to wife.

20:12  And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.

20:13  And after God brought me out of my father's house, I said to her: Thou shalt do me this kindness: In every place, to which we shall come, thou shalt say that I am thy brother.

20:13  And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father’s house, that I said unto her, This is thy kindness which thou shalt shew unto me; at every place whither we shall come, say of me, He is my brother.

20:13  And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said to her, This [is] thy kindness which thou shalt show to me; At every place whither we shall come, say of me, He [is] my brother.

20:13  It happened, when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said to her, 'This is your kindness which you shall show to me. Everywhere that we go, say of me, "He is my brother."'"

20:14  Abímelek tedy vzal brav a skot, otroky a služebnice a dal je Abrahamovi a navrátil mu jeho ženu Sáru.

20:15  et ait : Terra coram vobis est, ubicumque tibi placuerit habita.

20:16  And to Sara he said: Behold I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver, this shall serve thee for a covering of thy eyes to all that are with thee, and whithersoever thou shalt go: and remember thou wast taken.

20:16  And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other: thus she was reproved.

20:16  Sáře pak řekl: „Hle, tvému bratru jsem dal tisíc šekelů stříbra; to bude pro tebe na zadostiučinění v očích všech, kteří jsou s tebou. Tím vším budeš obhájena.“

20:16  Sáře pak řekl: „Hle, dal jsem tvému bratru tisíc šekelů stříbra; to ti bude zadostiučiněním přede všemi, kdo jsou s tebou. Tím vším budeš ospravedlněna.“

20:16  Sáře pak řekl: Hle, dal jsem tvému bratrovi tisíc šekelů stříbra. To pro tebe bude ⌈potvrzením cti⌉ před všemi, kteří jsou s tebou, takže před všemi jsi ospravedlněna.

20:16  Sáře pak řekl: Aj, dal jsem tisíc stříbrných bratru tvému, hle, onť jest tobě zástěrou očí u všech, kteříž jsou s tebou. A všemi těmito věcmi Sára poučena byla.

20:16  And to Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand [pieces] of silver: behold, he [is] to thee a covering of the eyes, to all that [are] with thee, and with all [other]: thus she was reproved.

20:16  To Sarah he said, "Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver. Behold, it is for you a covering of the eyes to all that are with you. In front of all you are vindicated."

20:16  And to Sarah he said, Behold, I have given your brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to you a covering of the eyes, to all that are with you, and with all other: thus she was reproved.

20:16  Saræ autem dixit : Ecce mille argenteos dedi fratri tuo, hoc erit tibi in velamen oculorum ad omnes qui tecum sunt, et quocumque perrexeris : mementoque te deprehensam.

20:17  And when Abraham prayed, God healed Abimelech and his wife, and his handmaids, and they bore children:

20:17  So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children.

20:17  I modlil se Abraham k Bohu a Bůh uzdravil abímeleka i jeho ženu a jeho otrokyně, takže rodily.

20:17  A Abraham se modlil k Bohu a Bůh uzdravil Abímeleka, jeho ženu i jeho otrokyně, a ⌈mohly mít děti.⌉

20:17  I modlil se Abraham Bohu, a uzdravil Bůh Abimelecha, a ženu jeho, a děvky jeho; i rodily.
