15:1  And a while after, when the days of the wheat harvest were at hand, Samson came, meaning to visit his wife, and he brought her a kid of the flock. And when he would have gone into her chamber, as usual, her father would not suffer him, saying:

15:1  But it came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat harvest, that Samson visited his wife with a kid; and he said, I will go in to my wife into the chamber. But her father would not suffer him to go in.

15:1  Po nějakém čase, ve dnech, kdy se žala pšenice, navštívil Samson svou ženu a přinesl darem kozlíka. Řekl: „Rád bych vešel do pokojíku ke své ženě.“ Ale její otec mu nedovolil vejít

15:1  Za nějaký čas, v době pšeničné sklizně, šel Samson navštívit svou ženu a nesl jí kůzle. „Jdu za svou ženou do ložnice,“ řekl. Její otec ho tam ale nepustil:

15:2  And her father said, I verily thought that thou hadst utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to thy companion: is not her younger sister fairer than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her.

15:2  a namítl: „Myslil jsem, že k ní chováš nenávist, tak jsem ji dal tvému družbovi. Což není její mladší sestra hezčí? Může být tvá místo ní!“

15:2  „Myslel jsem, že se ti znelíbila, tak jsem ji dal tvému družbovi.“ Potom mu navrhl: „A co její mladší sestra, ta je přece hezčí. Vezmi si ji místo ní!“

15:2  Její otec dále řekl: Říkal jsem si stále, že jsi ji opravdu neměl rád, a dal jsem ji tvému společníkovi. Což není její mladší sestra hezčí než ona? Nechť je tvá místo ní.

15:2  I řekl otec její: Domníval jsem se zajisté, že ji máš v nenávisti, protož dal jsem ji tovaryši tvému. Zdaliž není sestra její mladší pěknější než ona? Nechať jest tedy tvá místo oné.

15:2  And her father said, I verily thought that thou hadst utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to thy companion: [is] not her younger sister fairer than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her.

15:2  Her father said, "I most certainly thought that you had utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to your companion. Isn't her younger sister more beautiful than she is? Please take her, instead."

15:2  And her father said, I truly thought that you had utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to your companion: is not her younger sister fairer than she? take her, I pray you, instead of her.

15:2  Putavi quod odisses eam, et ideo tradidi illam amico tuo : sed habet sororem, quæ junior et pulchrior illa est : sit tibi pro ea uxor.

15:3  And Samson answered him: From this day I shall be blameless in what I do against the Philistines: for I will do you evils.

15:3  And Samson said concerning them, Now shall I be more blameless than the Philistines, though I do them a displeasure.

15:4  Odešel a pochytal tři sta lišek. Potom vzal pochodně, otočil vždy dvě lišky ocasy k sobě a mezi ně připevnil pochodeň.

15:4  Potom šel a pochytal tři sta lišek. Svázal je po dvou ocasy k sobě a mezi ocasy jim vždy připevnil pochodeň.

15:4  Tu Samson šel a polapil tři sta lišek. Vzal pochodně, obrátil ocas k ocasu a umístil jednu pochodeň doprostřed mezi ty dva ocasy.

15:4  Odšed tedy Samson, nalapal tři sta lišek, a vzav pochodně, obrátil jeden ocas k druhému, a dal vše jednu pochodni mezi dva ocasy do prostředka.

15:4  And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took fire-brands, and turned tail to tail, and put a fire-brand in the midst between two tails.

15:5  And setting them on fire he let the foxes go, that they might run about hither and thither. And they presently went into the standing corn of the Philistines. Which being set on fire, both the corn that was already carried together, and that which was yet standing, was all burnt, insomuch that the flame consumed also the vineyards and the oliveyards.

15:5  Pochodně zapálil a lišky pustil do nepožatého obilí Pelištejců. Zapálil jak kopky, tak nepožaté obilí, dokonce i vinice a olivy.

15:5  Pochodně pak zapálil a vypustil ty lišky Filištínům do obilí. Tak spálil sklizené i nesklizené obilí, ba i vinice a olivy.

15:5  Pak zapálil na pochodních oheň a vypustil je do nepožatého obilí Pelištejců. Tak zapálil vše -- od stohu přes nepožaté obilí až po vinici i olivový háj.

15:5  Potom zapálil ty pochodně, a pustil do obilí Filistinských, a popálil, jakž sžaté tak nesžaté, i vinice i olivoví.

15:5  And when he had set the brands on fire, he let [them] go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks and also the standing corn, with the vineyards [and] olives.

15:6  Then the Philistines said: Who hath done this thing? And it was answered: Samson, the son in law of the Thamnathite, because he took away his wife, and gave her to another, hath done these things. And the Philistines went up and burnt both the woman and her father.

15:6  Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.

15:6  Pelištejci se vyptávali: „Kdo tohle udělal?“ Rozkřiklo se: Samson, zeť Timnaťana, za to, že mu vzal ženu a dal ji jeho družbovi. I přitáhli Pelištejci a upálili ji i s jejím otcem.

15:6  „Kdo to udělal?“ ptali se Filištíni. „Samson, zeť toho z Timny,“ doslechli se. „Prý za to, že mu vzal ženu a dal ji jeho družbovi.“ A tak Filištíni šli a tu ženu i s jejím otcem upálili.

15:6  Pelištejci se ptali: Kdo tohle udělal? A lidé říkali: Samson, zeť toho Timnaťana, protože vzal jeho ženu a dal ji jeho společníkovi. A tak Pelištejci vyšli a upálili ji i jejího otce ohněm.

15:6  I řekli Filistinští: Kdo je to učinil? Jimž odpovědíno: Samson zeť Tamnejského, proto že vzal ženu jeho a dal ji tovaryši jeho. Tedy přišedše Filistinští, spálili ji ohněm i otce jejího.

15:6  Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire.

15:7  But Samson said to them: Although you have done this, yet will I be revenged of you, and then I will be quiet.

15:7  And Samson said unto them, Though ye have done this, yet will I be avenged of you, and after that I will cease.

15:8  And he made a great slaughter of them, so that in astonishment they laid the calf of the leg upon the thigh. And going down he dwelt in a cavern of the rock Etam.

15:8  And he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam.

15:9  Then the Philistines going up into the land of Juda, camped in the place which afterwards was called Lechi, that is, the Jawbone, where their army was spread abroad.

15:10  And the men of the tribe of Juda said to them: Why are you come up against us? They answered: We are come to bind Samson, and to pay him for what he hath done against us.

15:10  Judští muži se ptali: „Proč jste na nás přitáhli?“ Odpověděli: „Přitáhli jsme spoutat Samsona a naložit s ním stejně, jako on nakládal s námi.“

15:10  „Proč jste na nás vytáhli?“ ptali se judští muži. „Přišli jsme spoutat Samsona,“ odpověděli. „Uděláme mu totéž, co udělal nám!“

15:10  And the men of Judah said, Why have ye come up against us? And they answered, We have come to bind Samson, to do to him as he hath done to us.

15:11  Wherefore three thousand men of Juda went down to the cave of the rock Etam, and said to Samson: Knowest thou not that the Philistines rule over us? Why wouldst thou do thus? And he said to them: As they did to me, so have I done to them.

15:11  I sestoupilo tři tisíce judských mužů ke skalní strži Étamu a řekli Samsonovi: „Copak nevíš, že nad námi vládnou Pelištejci? Cos nám to provedl?“ Odvětil jim: „Jak jednali oni se mnou, tak jsem já jednal s nimi.“

15:11  Tři tisíce judských mužů se tedy vypravilo dolů k Etamské jeskyni. „Copak nevíš, že nás Filištíni mají v moci? Cos nám to udělal?“ vyčítali Samsonovi. „Udělal jsem jim totéž, co oni mně,“ odpověděl jim.

15:11  Tři tisíce mužů z Judska tedy sestoupilo ke skalní strži Étamu a řekli Samsonovi: Cožpak jsi nevěděl, že nad námi vládnou Pelištejci? Co jsi nám to provedl? Odpověděl jim: To, co provedli mně, to jsem i já provedl jim.

15:11  Tedy vyšlo tři tisíce mužů Juda k vrchu skály Etam, a řekli Samsonovi: Nevíš-liž, že panují nad námi Filistinští? Pročež jsi tedy nám to učinil? I odpověděl jim: Jakž mi učinili, tak jsem jim učinil.

15:11  Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines [are] rulers over us? what [is] this [that] thou hast done to us? And he said to them, As they did to me, so have I done to them.

15:12  And they said to him: We are come to bind thee, and to deliver thee into the hands of the Philistines. And Samson said to them: Swear to me, and promise me that you will not kill me.

15:12  And they said unto him, We are come down to bind thee, that we may deliver thee into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear unto me, that ye will not fall upon me yourselves.

15:12  Řekli mu: „Sestoupili jsme, abychom tě spoutali a vydali do rukou Pelištejců.“ Samson je požádal: „Odpřisáhněte mi, že se na mě nevrhnete vy sami!“

15:12  And they said to him, We have come down to bind thee, that we may deliver thee into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said to them, Swear to me, that ye will not fall upon me yourselves.

15:12  They said to him, "We have come down to bind you, that we may deliver you into the hand of the Philistines." Samson said to them, "Swear to me that you will not fall on me yourselves."

15:12  And they said to him, We are come down to bind you, that we may deliver you into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said to them, Swear to me, that you will not fall on me yourselves.

15:12  Ligare, inquiunt, te venimus, et tradere in manus Philisthinorum. Quibus Samson : Jurate, ait, et spondete mihi quod non occidatis me.

15:13  They said: We will not kill thee: but we will deliver thee up bound. And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him from the rock Etam.

15:13  And they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock.

15:13  Přislíbili mu: „Nevrhneme se na tebe. Jenom tě pevně spoutáme a vydáme do jejich rukou, určitě tě neusmrtíme.“ Spoutali ho dvěma novými provazy a odvedli ho od skály.

15:13  Prohlásili tedy před ním: Ne, jenom tě pevně svážeme a vydáme tě do jejich ruky. Určitě tě neusmrtíme. Svázali ho do dvou nových popruhů a odvedli ho od té skály.

15:13  Tedy mluvili jemu, řkouce: Nikoli, jediné tuze svížíce, vydáme tě v ruku jejich, ale nezabijeme tě. I svázali ho dvěma provazy novými, a svedli jej s skály.

15:13  And they spoke to him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock.

15:13  Dixerunt : Non te occidemus, sed vinctum trademus. Ligaveruntque eum duobus novis funibus, et tulerunt eum de petra Etam.

15:14  Now when he was come to the place of the Jawbone, and the Philistines shouting went to meet him, the Spirit of the Lord came strongly upon him: and as flax is wont to be consumed at the approach of fire, so the bands with which he was bound were broken and loosed.

15:14  And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.

15:14  Když přišel do Lechí, Pelištejci ho přivítali válečným pokřikem. Tu se ho zmocnil duch Hospodinův a provazy na jeho pažích byly jako nitě, které sežehl oheň. Pouta mu na rukou povolila.

15:14  Když se Samson blížil k Lechi, Filištíni mu s křikem vyrazili naproti. Vtom se ho zmocnil Duch Hospodinův. Provazy na jeho pažích najednou byly jako hořící koudel a pouta mu spadla z rukou.

15:14  Když přicházel k Lechí, Pelištejci ⌈ho přivítali řevem.⌉ Vtom ho uchvátil Duch Hospodinův a popruhy, které měl na pažích, byly jako knoty, které se spálily v ohni, a pouta se mu uvolnila z rukou.

15:14  Kterýž když přišel až do Lechi, Filistinští radostí křičeli proti němu. Přišel pak na něj Duch Hospodinův, a učiněni jsou provazové, kteříž byli na rukou jeho, jako niti lněné, když v ohni hoří, i spadli svazové s rukou jeho.

15:14  [And] when he came to Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that [were] upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his the hands.

15:14  When he came to Lehi, the Philistines shouted as they met him: and the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and the ropes that were on his arms became like flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands dropped from off his hands.

15:14  And when he came to Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily on him, and the cords that were on his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.

15:15  And finding a jawbone, even the jawbone of an ass, which lay there, catching it up, he slew therewith a thousand men.

15:15  Tedy našel čelist osličí ještě vlhkou, a vztáh ruku svou, vzal ji a pobil ní tisíc mužů.

15:17  And when he had ended these words, singing, he threw the jawbone out of his hand, and called the name of that place Ramathlechi, which is interpreted the lifting up of the jawbone.

15:17  And it came to pass when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jaw-bone out of his hand, and called that place Ramath-lehi.

15:18  And he was sore athirst, and called on the Lord, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?

15:18  Dostal pak nesmírnou žízeň a volal k Hospodinu. Řekl: „Ty jsi způsobil skrze svého služebníka toto velké vysvobození. A teď mám umřít žízní a upadnout do rukou neobřezanců?“

15:18  Samson měl velikou žízeň, a tak volal k Hospodinu: „Po tom skvělém vítězství, které jsi dal svému služebníku, teď musím umřít žízní? To mám padnout do rukou těch neobřezanců?“

15:18  Pak dostal velkou žízeň a volal k Hospodinu. Řekl: Ty jsi vložil do ruky svého otroka tuto velikou spásu a teď tu zemřu žízní a padnu do ruky těch neobřezanců!

15:18  Žíznil pak velice, i volal k Hospodinu a řekl: Ty jsi učinil skrze ruce služebníka svého vysvobození toto veliké, nyní pak již žízní umru, aneb upadnu v ruku těch neobřezaných.

15:18  And he was very thirsty, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die by thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?

15:18  Sitiensque valde, clamavit ad Dominum, et ait : Tu dedisti in manu servi tui salutem hanc maximam atque victoriam : en siti morior, incidamque in manus incircumcisorum.

15:19  Then the Lord opened a great tooth in the jaw of the ass and waters issued out of it. And when he had drunk them, he refreshed his spirit, and recovered his strength. Therefore the name of that place was called The Spring of him that invoked from the jawbone, until this present day.

15:19  But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof En–hakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day.

15:19  I rozpoltil Bůh skalní kotlinu v Lechí a vytryskla z ní voda. Napil se, okřál na duchu a ožil. Proto nazval to místo Pramen volajícího; ten je v Lechí dodnes.

15:19  Bůh tenkrát v Lechi prorazil prohlubeň, ze které vytryskla voda. Samson se napil, pookřál a ožil. Tu studánku proto nazval En-hakore, Pramen volajícího, a ten je v Lechi až dodnes.

15:19  A Bůh rozpoltil prohlubeň, která je v Lechí. Vyšla z ní voda, on se napil, jeho duch se navrátil a ⌈ožil. Proto ji nazval⌉ jménem Pramen volajícího, jenž je v Lechí až do tohoto dne.

15:19  Tedy otevřel Bůh skálu v Lechi, i vyšly z ní vody, a napil se; i okřál, a jako ožil. Protož nazval jméno její studnice vzývajícího, kteráž jest v Lechi až do dnešního dne.

15:19  But God cleaved a hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water out of it; and when he had drank, his spirit came again, and he revived. Wherefore he called the name of it En-hakkore, which [is] in Lehi to this day.
