Chapter 27
Psal DRC 27:1  A psalm for David himself. Unto thee will I cry, O Lord: O my God, be not thou silent to me: lest if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
Psal KJV 27:1  The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psal VulgClem 27:1  Psalmus ipsi David. Ad te, Domine, clamabo ; Deus meus, ne sileas a me : nequando taceas a me, et assimilabor descendentibus in lacum.
Psal DRC 27:2  Hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication, when I pray to thee; when I lift up my hands to thy holy temple.
Psal KJV 27:2  When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
Psal VulgClem 27:2  Exaudi, Domine, vocem deprecationis meæ dum oro ad te ; dum extollo manus meas ad templum sanctum tuum.
Psal DRC 27:3  Draw me not away together with the wicked; and with the workers of iniquity destroy me not: Who speak peace with their neighbour, but evils are in their hearts.
Psal KJV 27:3  Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
Psal VulgClem 27:3  Ne simul trahas me cum peccatoribus, et cum operantibus iniquitatem ne perdas me ; qui loquuntur pacem cum proximo suo, mala autem in cordibus eorum.
Psal DRC 27:4  Give them according to their works, and according to the wickedness of their inventions. According to the works of their hands give thou to them: render to them their reward.
Psal KJV 27:4  One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
Psal VulgClem 27:4  Da illis secundum opera eorum, et secundum nequitiam adinventionum ipsorum. Secundum opera manuum eorum tribue illis ; redde retributionem eorum ipsis.
Psal DRC 27:5  Because they have not understood the works of the Lord, and the operations of his hands: thou shalt destroy them, and shalt not build them up.
Psal KJV 27:5  For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
Psal VulgClem 27:5  Quoniam non intellexerunt opera Domini, et in opera manuum ejus destrues illos, et non ædificabis eos.
Psal DRC 27:6  Blessed be the Lord, for he hath heard the voice of my supplication.
Psal KJV 27:6  And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
Psal VulgClem 27:6  Benedictus Dominus, quoniam exaudivit vocem deprecationis meæ.
Psal DRC 27:7  The Lord is my helper and my protector: in him hath my heart confided, and I have been helped. And my flesh hath flourished again, and with my will I will give praise to him.
Psal KJV 27:7  Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
Psal VulgClem 27:7  Dominus adjutor meus et protector meus ; in ipso speravit cor meum, et adjutus sum : et refloruit caro mea, et ex voluntate mea confitebor ei.
Psal DRC 27:8  The Lord is the strength of his people, and the protector of the salvation of his anointed.
Psal KJV 27:8  When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.
Psal VulgClem 27:8  Dominus fortitudo plebis suæ, et protector salvationum christi sui est.
Psal DRC 27:9  Save, O Lord, thy people, and bless thy inheritance: and rule them and exalt them for ever.
Psal KJV 27:9  Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
Psal VulgClem 27:9  Salvum fac populum tuum, Domine, et benedic hæreditati tuæ ; et rege eos, et extolle illos usque in æternum.

Psal KJV 27:10  When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.

Psal KJV 27:11  Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

Psal KJV 27:12  Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
