Chapter 3
Reve DRC 3:1  And to the angel of the church of Sardis write: These things saith he that hath the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: I know thy works, and that thou hast the name of being alive. And thou art dead.
Reve VulgClem 3:1  Et angelo ecclesiæ Sardis scribe : Hæc dicit qui habet septem spiritus Dei, et septem stellas : Scio opera tua, quia nomen habes quod vivas, et mortuus es.
Reve KJV 3:1  And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
Reve DRC 3:2  Be watchful and strengthen the things that remain, which are ready to die. For I find not thy works full before my God.
Reve KJV 3:2  Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
Reve DRC 3:3  Have in mind therefore in what manner thou hast received and heard: and observe and do penance: If then thou shalt not watch, I will come to thee as a thief: and thou shalt not know at what hour I will come to thee.
Reve KJV 3:3  Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
Reve DRC 3:4  But thou hast a few names in Sardis which have not defiled their garments: and they shall walk with me in white, because they are worthy.
Reve KJV 3:4  Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
Reve DRC 3:5  He that shall overcome shall thus be clothed in white garments: and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life. And I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels.
Reve KJV 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Reve DRC 3:6  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.
Reve VulgClem 3:6  Qui habet aurem, audiat quid Spiritus dicat ecclesiis.
Reve KJV 3:6  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Reve DRC 3:7  And to the angel of the church of Philadelphia write: These things saith the Holy One and the true one, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and no man shutteth, shutteth and no man openeth:
Reve VulgClem 3:7  Et angelo Philadelphiæ ecclesiæ scribe : Hæc dicit Sanctus et Verus, qui habet clavem David : qui aperit, et nemo claudit : claudit, et nemo aperit :
Reve KJV 3:7  And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
Reve DRC 3:8  I know thy works. Behold, I have given before thee a door opened, which no man can shut: because thou hast a little strength and hast kept my word and hast not denied my name.
Reve VulgClem 3:8  Scio opera tua.
Reve KJV 3:8  I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
Reve DRC 3:9  Behold, I will bring of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but do lie. Behold, I will make them to come and adore before thy feet. And they shall know that I have loved thee.
Reve KJV 3:9  Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
Reve DRC 3:10  Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will also keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon the whole world to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Reve VulgClem 3:10  quoniam servasti verbum patientiæ meæ, et ego servabo te ab hora tentationis, quæ ventura est in orbem universum tentare habitantes in terra.
Reve KJV 3:10  Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Reve DRC 3:11  Behold, I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
Reve KJV 3:11  Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
Reve DRC 3:12  He that shall overcome, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God: and he shall go out no more. And I will write upon him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and my new name.
Reve VulgClem 3:12  Qui vicerit, faciam illum columnam in templo Dei mei, et foras non egredietur amplius : et scribam super eum nomen Dei mei, et nomen civitatis Dei mei novæ Jerusalem, quæ descendit de cælo a Deo meo, et nomen meum novum.
Reve KJV 3:12  Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Reve DRC 3:13  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.
Reve VulgClem 3:13  Qui habet aurem, audiat quid Spiritus dicat ecclesiis.
Reve KJV 3:13  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Reve DRC 3:14  And to the angel of the church of Laodicea write: These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, who is the beginning of the creation of God:
Reve VulgClem 3:14  Et angelo Laodiciæ ecclesiæ scribe : Hæc dicit : Amen, testis fidelis et verus, qui est principium creaturæ Dei.
Reve KJV 3:14  And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Reve DRC 3:15  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot. I would thou wert cold or hot.
Reve KJV 3:15  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Reve DRC 3:16  But because thou art lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of my mouth.
Reve KJV 3:16  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Reve DRC 3:17  Because thou sayest: I am rich and made wealthy and have need of nothing: and knowest not that thou art wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.
Reve VulgClem 3:17  quia dicis : Quod dives sum, et locupletatus, et nullius egeo : et nescis quia tu es miser, et miserabilis, et pauper, et cæcus, et nudus.
Reve KJV 3:17  Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Reve DRC 3:18  I counsel thee to buy of me gold, fire tried, that thou mayest be made rich and mayest be clothed in white garments: and that the shame of thy nakedness may not appear. And anoint thy eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Reve VulgClem 3:18  Suadeo tibi emere a me aurum ignitum probatum, ut locuples fias, et vestimentis albis induaris, et non appareat confusio nuditatis tuæ, et collyrio inunge oculos tuos ut videas.
Reve KJV 3:18  I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Reve DRC 3:19  Such as I love, I rebuke and chastise. Be zealous therefore and do penance.
Reve VulgClem 3:19  Ego quos amo, arguo, et castigo. Æmulare ergo, et pœnitentiam age.
Reve KJV 3:19  As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Reve DRC 3:20  Behold, I stand at the gate and knock. If any man shall hear my voice and open to me the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him: and he with me.
Reve KJV 3:20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Reve DRC 3:21  To him that shall overcome, I will give to sit with me in my throne: as I also have overcome and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Reve VulgClem 3:21  Qui vicerit, dabo ei sedere mecum in throno meo : sicut et ego vici, et sedi cum Patre meo in throno ejus.
Reve KJV 3:21  To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Reve DRC 3:22  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.
Reve VulgClem 3:22  Qui habet aurem, audiat quid Spiritus dicat ecclesiis.
Reve KJV 3:22  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
