12:1  Ephraim feedeth on the wind, and followeth the burning heat: all the day long he multiplied lies and desolation: and he hath made a covenant with the Assyrians, and carried oil into Egypt.

12:1  Efrajim mě obklíčil přetvářkou, dům izraelský záludností; též Juda je před Bohem vrtkavý stále, i když je věrný svatým obyčejům.

12:1  Efraim mě zahrnuje lží a dům Izraele lstí. Juda se Bohu stále zpěčuje – Svatému, který věrný je.

12:1  Efrajim mě obklopil lží, dům izraelský podvodem; Juda ještě chodí s Bohem a je věrný Svatému.

12:1  Efraim se větrem pase, a vítr východní honí, každého dne lež a zhoubu množí; nebo smlouvu s Assurem činí, a masti do Egypta donášejí se.

12:2  Therefore there is a judgment of the Lord with Juda, and a visitation for Jacob: he will render to him according to his ways, and according to his devices.

12:2  Efrajim se živí větrem, za východním větrem se honí po celé dny, množí lež a zhoubu. S Asýrií uzavírají smlouvu, do Egypta donášejí olej.

12:2  Větrem se krmí Efraim, honí se za větrem východním, celý den rozmnožuje lež a násilí. S Asýrií smlouvu sjednává, a přitom nosí olej do Egypta.

12:2  Efrajim pase vítr, po celý den se honí za východním větrem, rozmnožuje lež a zkázu. Uzavírají smlouvu s Asýrií, olej je odnášen do Egypta.

12:2  I s Judou má soud Hospodin; pročež navštívě Jákoba podlé cest jeho, podlé snažností jeho odplatí jemu.

12:3  Hospodin vede spor také s Judou, navštíví Jákoba s trestem za jeho cesty a odplatí mu podle jeho činů.

12:3  V životě za patu držel bratra svého, a silou svou knížetsky se potýkal s Bohem.

12:4  Knížetsky, pravím, potýkal se s andělem, a přemohl; plakal a pokorně ho prosil; v Bethel jej nalezl, a tam s námi mluvil.

12:5  Jako kníže se utkal s andělem a obstál. Plakal a prosil o smilování. V Bét-elu nalézá toho, který tam s námi rozmlouvá.

12:5  Zápasil s andělem a zvítězil; s pláčem u něj tehdy o milost žadonil. Našel jej v Bet-elu a tam s ním promluvil –

12:5  Zápasil s andělem a přemohl ho. Plakal a prosil ho o smilování, nalezl ho v Bét–elu a tam s námi mluvil.

12:5  Toť jest Hospodin Bůh zástupů, pamětné jeho jest Hospodin.

12:8  And Ephraim said: But yet I am become rich, I have found me an idol: all my labours shall not find me the iniquity that I have committed.

12:8  Efrajim je kramář, v ruce má falešná závaží, rád klame.

12:8  A říká Efraim: Však jsem zbohatl, dobyl jsem sobě zboží; ve všech mých pracech nenajdou mi nepravosti, jenž by hříchem byla.

12:8  And Ephraim said, Yet I have become rich, I have found for myself substance: [in] all my labors they shall find no iniquity in me that [were] sin.

12:9  A říká: „Ano, zbohatl jsem, získal jsem si jmění. Na ničem, čeho jsem nabyl, nelze shledat hříšnou nepravost.“

12:9  Efraim říká: „Ach, jak jsem bohatý! Pomohl jsem si ke jmění. Mám tolik vyděláno, že jsem bez viny, nenajdou na mně žádný hřích!“

12:9  Efrajim říká: Jak jsem zbohatl, získal jsem majetek. Ve všem ⌈mém výtěžku⌉ mi neshledají provinění, které by bylo hříchem.

12:9  Já pak Hospodin jsa Bohem tvým od vyjití z země Egyptské, ještě-liž bych tě seděti nechal v stáncích jako ve dnech svátečních?

12:10  Já však jsem Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, už z egyptské země. Zase tě usadím ve stanech jako za dnů, kdy jsem se s tebou setkával.

12:11  Mluvím k prorokům a dávám mnohá vidění: skrze proroky předkládám podobenství.

12:11  Zdali toliko v Galád byla nepravost a marnost? I v Galgala voly obětují, přes to i oltářů jejich jest jako kopců na záhonech polí mých.

12:11  [Is there] iniquity [in] Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yes, their altars [are] as heaps in the furrows of the fields.

12:12  Gileád páchá ničemnosti, propadne zmaru; v Gilgálu obětují býky, jejich oltáře se stanou hromadami sutě mezi brázdami pole.

12:12  Gileád je však samý zlořád, proto je čeká zmar. Že v Gilgalu obětují býky? Z jejich oltářů budou kupy kamení u polích zoraných!

12:12  Je v Gileádu modloslužba? Jistě se stanou nicotou. Obětují v Gilgálu býky? I jejich oltáře se stanou hromadami kamení na brázdách pole.

12:12  Tamto utekl byl Jákob z krajiny Syrské, kdež sloužil Izrael pro ženu, a pro ženu byl pastýřem;

12:14  Vzbudilť Efraim hněv přehořký, a protož krev jeho na něj se vztáhne, a potupu svou vrátí jemu Pán jeho.
