Chapter 4
I Co DRC 4:1  Let a man so account of us as of the ministers of Christ and the dispensers of the mysteries of God.
I Co VulgClem 4:1  Sic nos existimet homo ut ministros Christi, et dispensatores mysteriorum Dei.
I Co KJV 4:1  Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.
I Co DRC 4:2  Here now it is required among the dispensers that a man be found faithful.
I Co VulgClem 4:2  Hic jam quæritur inter dispensatores ut fidelis quis inveniatur.
I Co KJV 4:2  Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
I Co DRC 4:3  But to me it is a very small thing to be judged by you or by man's day. But neither do I judge my own self.
I Co VulgClem 4:3  Mihi autem pro minimo est ut a vobis judicer, aut ab humano die : sed neque meipsum judico.
I Co KJV 4:3  But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.
I Co DRC 4:4  For I am not conscious to myself of anything. Yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
I Co VulgClem 4:4  Nihil enim mihi conscius sum, sed non in hoc justificatus sum : qui autem judicat me, Dominus est.
I Co KJV 4:4  For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
I Co DRC 4:5  Therefore, judge not before the time: until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then shall every man have praise from God.
I Co VulgClem 4:5  Itaque nolite ante tempus judicare, quoadusque veniat Dominus : qui et illuminabit abscondita tenebrarum, et manifestabit consilia cordium : et tunc laus erit unicuique a Deo.
I Co KJV 4:5  Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
I Co DRC 4:6  But these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollo, for your sakes: that in us you may learn that one be not puffed up against the other for another, above that which is written.
I Co VulgClem 4:6  Hæc autem, fratres, transfiguravi in me et Apollo, propter vos : ut in nobis discatis, ne supra quam scriptum est, unus adversus alterum infletur pro alio.
I Co KJV 4:6  And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
I Co DRC 4:7  For who distinguisheth thee? Or what hast thou that thou hast not received, and if thou hast received, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?
I Co KJV 4:7  For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?
I Co DRC 4:8  You are now full: you are now become rich: you reign without us; and I would to God you did reign, that we also might reign with you.
I Co VulgClem 4:8  Jam saturati estis, jam divites facti estis : sine nobis regnatis : et utinam regnetis, ut et nos vobiscum regnemus.
I Co KJV 4:8  Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.
I Co DRC 4:9  For I think that God hath set forth us apostles, the last, as it were men appointed to death. We are made a spectacle to the world and to angels and to men.
I Co KJV 4:9  For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.
I Co DRC 4:10  We are fools for Christs sake, but you are wise in Christ: we are weak, but you are strong: you are honourable, but we without honour.
I Co VulgClem 4:10  Nos stulti propter Christum, vos autem prudentes in Christo : nos infirmi, vos autem fortes : vos nobiles, nos autem ignobiles.
I Co KJV 4:10  We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.
I Co DRC 4:11  Even unto this hour we both hunger and thirst and are naked and are buffeted and have no fixed abode.
I Co VulgClem 4:11  Usque in hanc horam et esurimus, et sitimus, et nudi sumus, et colaphis cædimur, et instabiles sumus,
I Co KJV 4:11  Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;
I Co DRC 4:12  And we labour, working with our own hands. We are reviled: and we bless. We are persecuted: and we suffer it.
I Co VulgClem 4:12  et laboramus operantes manibus nostris : maledicimur, et benedicimus : persecutionem patimur, et sustinemus :
I Co KJV 4:12  And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:
I Co DRC 4:13  We are blasphemed: and we entreat. We are made as the refuse of this world, the offscouring of all, even until now.
I Co VulgClem 4:13  blasphemamur, et obsecramus : tamquam purgamenta hujus mundi facti sumus, omnium peripsema usque adhuc.
I Co KJV 4:13  Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.
I Co DRC 4:14  I write not these things to confound you: but I admonish you as my dearest children.
I Co KJV 4:14  I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
I Co DRC 4:15  For if you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet not many fathers. For in Christ Jesus, by the gospel, I have begotten you.
I Co KJV 4:15  For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
I Co DRC 4:16  Wherefore, I beseech you, be ye followers of me as I also am of Christ.
I Co VulgClem 4:16  Rogo ergo vos, imitatores mei estote, sicut et ego Christi.
I Co KJV 4:16  Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
I Co DRC 4:17  For this cause have I sent to you Timothy, who is my dearest son and faithful in the Lord. Who will put you in mind of my ways, which are in Christ Jesus: as I teach every where in every church.
I Co KJV 4:17  For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
I Co DRC 4:18  As if I would not come to you, so some are puffed up.
I Co KJV 4:18  Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.
I Co DRC 4:19  But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will: and will know, not the speech of them that are puffed up, but the power.
I Co KJV 4:19  But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.
I Co DRC 4:20  For the kingdom of God is not in speech, but in power.
I Co KJV 4:20  For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.
I Co DRC 4:21  What will you? Shall I come to you with a rod? Or in charity and in the spirit of meekness?
I Co VulgClem 4:21  Quid vultis ? in virga veniam ad vos, an in caritate, et spiritu mansuetudinis ?
I Co KJV 4:21  What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?
