Godbey - I Timothy - 2

2:1  Moreover, first of all things, I exhort you, that prayers, supplications, intercessions, thanksgivings, be made in behalf of all men;

2:2  for kings and all who are in authority; in order that we may lead a peaceable and quiet life in all godliness and honesty.

2:3  This is beautiful and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

2:4  who wishes all men to be saved, and to come to the perfect knowledge of the truth.

2:5  For there is one God, and there is also one mediator of God and men, the man, Christ Jesus,

2:6  the one having given himself a ransom for all, a testimony in due time;

2:7  in which I have been placed a herald and an apostle I speak the truth, I lie not, a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and in truth.

2:8  Therefore I wish that men in every place would all pray, holding up holy hands, without wrath and doubting:

2:9  likewise that the women adorn themselves in comely apparel, with modesty and prudence; not with braided hair, and gold or pearls or costly garments;

2:10  but whatsoever becomes women professing godliness, through good works.

2:11  Let a woman learn in silence in all submission;

2:12  but I do not permit a woman to dictate or usurp authority over her husband, but to be in silence.

2:13  For Adam was first created, then Eve.

2:14  And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression;

2:15  but she shall be saved through child-bearing, if they may abide in faith and in divine love and in sanctification with prudence.
