13:3  And when Abia had begun battle, and had with him four hundred thousand most valiant and chosen men, Jeroboam put his army in array against him, eight hundred thousand men, who were also chosen and most valiant for war.

13:3  Abijáš vypravil do boje vojsko, válečné bohatýry, čtyři sta tisíc vybraných mužů. Jarobeám seřadil do boje proti němu osm set tisíc vybraných mužů, udatných bohatýrů.

13:3  Abiáš se vypravil do boje s vojskem čítajícím 400 000 vybraných bojovníků. Jeroboám se vypravil s vojskem čítajícím 800 000 vybraných bojovníků.

13:4  And Abia stood upon mount Semeron, which was in Ephraim, and said: Hear me, O Jeroboam, and all Israel:

13:7  And there were gathered to him vain men, and children of Belial: and they prevailed against Roboam the son of Solomon: for Roboam was unexperienced, and of a fearful heart, and could not resist them.

13:7  And there are gathered unto him vain men, the children of Belial, and have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tenderhearted, and could not withstand them.

13:7  Shromáždili se k němu muži bohaprázdní a ničemové a rozhodně se postavili proti Šalomounovu synovi Rechabeámovi. Rechabeám byl mladý a zbabělý a nedokázal jim čelit.

13:7  K němu se shromáždila ničemná a zlotřilá cháska a vzepřela se Šalomounovu synu Rechoboámovi, protože Rechoboám byl ještě mladý a nezkušený a nedokázal se jim postavit.

13:7  And there are gathered to him vain men, the children of Belial, and [they] have strengthened themselves against Rehoboam the son of Solomon, when Rehoboam was young and tender-hearted, and could not withstand them.

13:8  And now you say that you are able to withstand the kingdom of the Lord, which he possesseth by the sons of David, and you have a great multitude of people, and golden calves, which Jeroboam hath made you for gods.

13:8  And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the Lord in the hand of the sons of David; and ye be a great multitude, and there are with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.

13:8  A teď si říkáte, že chcete čelit Hospodinovu království, jež je v rukou synů Davidových? Je vás ohromné množství a máte při sobě zlaté býčky, které vám udělal Jarobeám jako bohy.

13:8  Copak si myslíte, že teď můžete obstát proti Hospodinovu království, které je v rukou Davidových synů? Snad proto, že je vás tolik? Nebo proto, že s sebou máte jako bohy zlatá telata, která vám Jeroboám vyrobil?

13:8  A teď si říkáte, že odoláte Hospodinovu království v ruce synů Davidových. Je vás velké množství a máte u sebe zlatá telata, která vám udělal Jarobeám jako bohy.

13:8  Tak vy nyní myslíte zsiliti se proti království Hospodinovu, kteréž jest v ruce synů Davidových, a jest vás veliké množství; máte také při sobě telata zlatá, kterýchž vám nadělal Jeroboám, za bohy.

13:8  And now ye think to withstand the kingdom of the LORD in the hand of the sons of David; and ye [are] a great multitude, and [there are] with you golden calves, which Jeroboam made you for gods.

13:9  And you have cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites: and you have made you priests, like all the nations of the earth: whosoever cometh and consecrateth his hand with a bullock of the herd, and with seven rams, is made a priest of those who are no gods.

13:9  Have ye not cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made you priests after the manner of the nations of other lands? so that whosoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, the same may be a priest of them that are no gods.

13:9  Ale což jste nevyhnali Hospodinovy kněze Áronovce a lévijce? Nenadělali jste si kněží jako národy jiných zemí? Kdokoli přišel, mohl být za mladého býčka a sedm beranů pověřen, aby byl knězem neboha.

13:9  Copak jste nevyhnali Hospodinovy kněze, syny Áronovy, i levity? Copak jste si sami nepořídili kněze, jako to dělají pohané v cizích zemích? Kdokoli si s mladým býčkem a sedmi berany přijde pro vysvěcení, už je z něj kněz těch vašich nebohů.

13:9  Což jste ale nezahnali Hospodinovy kněze, syny Áronovy, a lévity a neudělali si kněze, jako mají národy zemí? Každý, kdo přišel s býčkem, mládětem býka, a sedmi berany, aby se zasvětil, stal se knězem nebohů.

13:9  Zdaliž jste nezavrhli kněží Hospodinových, synů Aronových a Levítů, a nadělali jste sobě kněží, tak jako národové jiných zemí? Kdožkoli přichází, aby posvěceny byly ruce jeho volčetem mladým a sedmi skopci, hned je knězem těch, jenž nejsou bohové.

13:9  Have ye not cast out the priests of the LORD, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and have made for you priests after the manner of the nations of [other] lands? so that whoever cometh to consecrate himself with a young bullock and seven rams, [the same] may be a priest of [them that are] no gods.

13:10  But the Lord is our God, whom we forsake not, and the priests who minister to the Lord are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites are in their order.

13:11  And they offer holocausts to the Lord, every day, morning and evening, and incense made according to the ordinance of the law, and the loaves are set forth on a most clean table, and there is with us the golden candlestick, and the lamps thereof, to be lighted always in the evening: for we keep the precepts of the Lord our God, whom you have forsaken.

13:11  And they burn unto the Lord every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense: the shewbread also set they in order upon the pure table; and the candlestick of gold with the lamps thereof, to burn every evening: for we keep the charge of the Lord our God; but ye have forsaken him.

13:11  Ráno co ráno a večer co večer obracejí zápalné oběti v obětní dým, pálí vonná koření, rovnají chléb na stůl z čistého zlata, starají se o zlatý svícen a jeho kahánky, aby hořely večer co večer. My držíme stráž před Hospodinem, naším Bohem. Vy jste ho však opustili.

13:11  holocausta quoque offerunt Domino per singulos dies mane et vespere, et thymiama juxta legis præcepta confectum, et proponuntur panes in mensa mundissima, estque apud nos candelabrum aureum, et lucernæ ejus, ut accendantur semper ad vesperam : nos quippe custodimus præcepta Domini Dei nostri, quem vos reliquistis.

13:12  Therefore God is the leader in our army, and his priests who sound with trumpets, and resound against you: O children of Israel, fight not against the Lord the God of your fathers, for it is not good for you.

13:12  And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the Lord God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.

13:12  Hle, nám je v čele Bůh. Jeho kněží hlaholí zvučnými trubkami proti vám. Izraelci, nebojujte proti Hospodinu, Bohu svých otců, neboť nebudete mít zdar!“

13:12  And behold, God himself [is] with us for [our] captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye will not prosper.

13:13  While he spoke these things, Jeroboam caused an ambushment to come about behind him. And while he stood facing the enemies, he encompassed Juda, who perceived it not, with his army.
