25:1  Amasias was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned nine and twenty years in Jerusalem, the name of his mother was Joadan of Jerusalem.

25:7  Tu k němu přišel muž Boží a řekl: „Králi, ať s tebou netáhne vojenský zástup Izraele, poněvadž Hospodin není s Izraelem, s nikým z Efrajimovců.

25:8  And if thou think that battles consist in the strength of the army, God will make thee to be overcome by the enemies: for it belongeth to God both to help, and to put to flight.

25:8  But if thou wilt go, do it, be strong for the battle: God shall make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down.

25:8  Ale táhni sám a pusť se rozhodně do boje, jinak Bůh přivodí před tváří nepřítele tvůj pád. Bůh má dost síly, aby pomohl i přivodil pád.“

25:8  Pokud vytáhneš, můžeš si v boji vést jakkoli statečně, Bůh tě ale před nepřítelem srazí. Bůh přece dokáže pomoci, ale i srazit!“

25:8  Ale táhni sám, připrav a posilni se k boji, jinak tě Bůh přivede k pádu před nepřítelem. Vždyť Bůh má sílu pomoci i přivést k pádu.

25:8  Ale táhni ty. Učiniž tak, a posilň se k boji; jinak porazí tě Bůh před nepřátely, neboť může Bůh i pomoci i poraziti.

25:8  But if thou wilt go, do [it], be strong for the battle: God will make thee fall before the enemy: for God hath power to help, and to cast down.

25:9  And Amasias said to the man of God: What will then become of the hundred talents which I have given to the soldiers of Israel? and the man of God answered him: The Lord is rich enough to be able to give thee much more than this.

25:9  And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The Lord is able to give thee much more than this.

25:9  Amasjáš řekl muži Božímu: „Co však udělat s tím stem talentů, které jsem dal houfu z Izraele?“ Muž Boží odpověděl: „Hospodin ti může dát mnohokrát víc než tohle.“

25:9  And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The LORD is able to give thee much more than this.

25:10  Amasjáš je tedy oddělil, totiž houf, který k němu přišel z Efrajimu, aby šli zpět do svých domovů. Ti vzplanuli proti Judovi velikým hněvem a velice rozhněváni se vraceli do svých domovů.

25:13  But that army which Amasias had sent back, that they should not go with him to battle, spread themselves among the cities of Juda, from Samaria to Beth-horon, and having killed three thousand took away much spoil.

25:15  A protož rozhněval se náramně Hospodin na Amaziáše, a poslal k němu proroka, kterýž jemu řekl: Proč hledáš bohů lidu toho, kteříž nevytrhli lidu svého z ruky tvé?

25:16  Král mu na to odpověděl: „Že bychom tě jmenovali královským rádcem? Jestli je ti život milý, přestaň!“ Prorok tedy přestal mluvit, jen ještě dodal: „Vím, že Bůh už si s tebou poradil a zahladí tě, protože si vedeš svou a na moji radu nedbáš.“

25:16  I stalo se, když k němu mluvil, že mu Amasjáš řekl: Cožpak jsme tě ustanovili za králova rádce? Přestaň! Proč by tě měli zabít? Prorok přestal, ale řekl: Vím, že Bůh se rozhodl tě zničit, protože jsi toto spáchal a neuposlechl jsi mou radu.

25:19  Thou hast said: I have overthrown Edom, and therefore thy heart is lifted up with pride: stay at home, why dost thou provoke evil against thee, that both thou shouldst fall and Juda with thee.

25:19  Myslil jsi: Aj, porazil jsem Idumejské, protož pozdvihlo tě srdce tvé, tak že se tím honosíš. Medle, zůstaň v domě svém. Proč se máš zapletati v takové zlé, až bys padl i ty i Juda s tebou?
