4:1  He made also an altar of brass twenty cubits long, and twenty cubits broad, and ten cubits high.

4:1  Fecit quoque altare æneum viginti cubitorum longitudinis, et viginti cubitorum latitudinis, et decem cubitorum altitudinis.

4:1  Moreover he made an altar of brass, twenty cubits the length thereof, and twenty cubits the breadth thereof, and ten cubits the height thereof.

4:2  Also a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass: it was five cubits high, and a line of thirty cubits compassed it round about.

4:2  Mare etiam fusile decem cubitis a labio usque ad labium, rotundum per circuitum : quinque cubitos habebat altitudinis, et funiculus triginta cubitorum ambiebat gyrum ejus.

4:2  Also he made a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and five cubits the height thereof; and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

4:3  And under it there was the likeness of oxen, and certain engravings on the outside of ten cubits compassed the belly of the sea, as it were with two rows.

4:3  Similitudo quoque boum erat subter illud, et decem cubitis quædam extrinsecus cælaturæ, quasi duobus versibus alvum maris circuibant. Boves autem erant fusiles :

4:3  And under it was the similitude of oxen, which did compass it round about: ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about. Two rows of oxen were cast, when it was cast.

4:4  And the oxen were cast: and the sea itself was set upon the twelve oxen, three of which looked toward the north, and other three toward the west: and other three toward the south, and the other three that remained toward the east, and the sea stood upon them: and the hinder parts of the oxen were inward under the sea.

4:4  et ipsum mare super duodecim boves impositum erat, quorum tres respiciebant ad aquilonem, et alii tres ad occidentem : porro tres alii meridiem, et tres qui reliqui erant, orientem, habentes mare superpositum : posteriora autem boum erant intrinsecus sub mari.

4:4  It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.

4:5  Now the thickness of it was a handbreadth, and the brim of it was like the brim of a cup, or of a crisped lily: and it held three thousand measures.

4:5  Porro vastitas ejus habebat mensuram palmi, et labium illius erat quasi labium calicis, vel repandi lilii : capiebatque tria millia metretas.

4:5  And the thickness of it was an handbreadth, and the brim of it like the work of the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies; and it received and held three thousand baths.

4:6  He made also ten lavers: and he set five on the right hand, and five on the left, to wash in them all such things as they were to offer for holocausts: but the sea was for the priests to wash in.

4:6  Fecit quoque conchas decem : et posuit quinque a dextris, et quinque a sinistris, ut lavarent in eis omnia quæ in holocaustum oblaturi erant : porro in mari sacerdotes lavabantur.

4:6  He made also ten lavers, and put five on the right hand, and five on the left, to wash in them: such things as they offered for the burnt offering they washed in them; but the sea was for the priests to wash in.

4:7  And he made ten golden candlesticks, according to the form which they were commanded to be made by: and he set them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left.

4:7  Fecit autem et candelabra aurea decem secundum speciem qua jussa erant fieri : et posuit ea in templo, quinque a dextris, et quinque a sinistris.

4:7  And he made ten candlesticks of gold according to their form, and set them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left.

4:8  Moreover also ten tables: and he set them in the temple, five on the right side, and five on the left. Also a hundred bowls of gold.

4:8  Necnon et mensas decem : et posuit eas in templo, quinque a dextris, et quinque a sinistris : phialas quoque aureas centum.

4:8  He made also ten tables, and placed them in the temple, five on the right side, and five on the left. And he made an hundred basons of gold.

4:9  He made also the court of the priests, and a great hall, and doors in the hall, which he covered with brass.

4:9  Fecit etiam atrium sacerdotum, et basilicam grandem : et ostia in basilica, quæ texit ære.

4:9  Furthermore he made the court of the priests, and the great court, and doors for the court, and overlaid the doors of them with brass.

4:10  And he set the sea on the right side over against the east toward the south.

4:10  Porro mare posuit in latere dextro contra orientem ad meridiem.

4:10  And he set the sea on the right side of the east end, over against the south.

4:11  And Hiram made caldrons, and fleshhooks, and bowls: and finished all the king's work the house of God:

4:11  Fecit autem Hiram lebetes, et creagras, et phialas : et complevit omne opus regis in domo Dei :

4:11  And Huram made the pots, and the shovels, and the basons. And Huram finished the work that he was to make for king Solomon for the house of God;

4:12  That is to say, the two pillars, and the pommels, and the chapiters, and the network, to cover the chapiters over the pommels.

4:12  hoc est, columnas duas, et epistylia, et capita, et quasi quædam retiacula, quæ capita tegerent super epistylia.

4:12  To wit, the two pillars, and the pommels, and the chapiters which were on the top of the two pillars, and the two wreaths to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were on the top of the pillars;

4:13  And four hundred pomegranates, and two wreaths of network, so that two rows of pomegranates were joined to each wreath, to cover the pommels, and the chapiters of the pillars.

4:13  Malogranata quoque quadringenta, et retiacula duo ita ut bini ordines malogranatorum singulis retiaculis jungerentur, quæ protegerent epistylia, et capita columnarum.

4:13  And four hundred pomegranates on the two wreaths; two rows of pomegranates on each wreath, to cover the two pommels of the chapiters which were upon the pillars.

4:14  He made also bases, and lavers, which he set upon the bases:

4:14  Bases etiam fecit, et conchas, quas superposuit basibus :

4:14  He made also bases, and lavers made he upon the bases;

4:15  One sea, and twelve oxen under the sea;

4:15  mare unum, boves quoque duodecim sub mari,

4:15  One sea, and twelve oxen under it.

4:16  And the caldrons, and fleshhooks, and bowls. All the vessels did Hiram his father make for Solomon in the house of the Lord of the finest brass.

4:16  et lebetes, et creagras, et phialas. Omnia vasa fecit Salomoni Hiram pater ejus in domo Domini ex ære mundissimo.

4:16  The pots also, and the shovels, and the fleshhooks, and all their instruments, did Huram his father make to king Solomon for the house of the Lord of bright brass.

4:17  In the country near the Jordan did the king cast them, in a clay ground between Sochot and Saredatha.

4:17  In regione Jordanis, fudit ea rex in argillosa terra inter Sochot et Saredatha.

4:17  In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zeredathah.

4:18  And the multitude of vessels was innumerable, so that the weight of the brass was not known.

4:18  Erat autem multitudo vasorum innumerabilis, ita ut ignoraretur pondus æris.

4:18  Thus Solomon made all these vessels in great abundance: for the weight of the brass could not be found out.

4:19  And Solomon made all the vessels for the house of God, and the golden altar, and the tables, upon which were the loaves of proposition,

4:19  Fecitque Salomon omnia vasa domus Dei, et altare aureum, et mensas, et super eas panes propositionis :

4:19  And Solomon made all the vessels that were for the house of God, the golden altar also, and the tables whereon the shewbread was set;

4:20  The candlesticks also of most pure gold with their lamps to give light before the oracle, according to the manner.

4:20  candelabra quoque cum lucernis suis ut lucerent ante oraculum juxta ritum ex auro purissimo :

4:20  Moreover the candlesticks with their lamps, that they should burn after the manner before the oracle, of pure gold;

4:21  And certain flowers, and lamps, and golden tongs: all were made of the finest gold.

4:21  et florentia quædam, et lucernas, et forcipes aureos : omnia de auro mundissimo facta sunt.

4:21  And the flowers, and the lamps, and the tongs, made he of gold, and that perfect gold;

4:22  The vessels also for the perfumes, and the censers, and the bowls, and the mortars, of pure gold. And he graved the doors of the inner temple, that is, for the holy of holies: and the doors of the temple without were of gold. And thus all the work was finished which Solomon made in the house of the Lord.

4:22  Thymiateria quoque, et thuribula, et phialas, et mortariola ex auro purissimo. Et ostia cælavit templi interioris, id est, in Sancta sanctorum : et ostia templi forinsecus aurea. Sicque completum est omne opus quod fecit Salomon in domo Domini.

4:22  And the snuffers, and the basons, and the spoons, and the censers, of pure gold: and the entry of the house, the inner doors thereof for the most holy place, and the doors of the house of the temple, were of gold.
