2:1  Now her husband Elimelech had a kinsman, a powerful man, and very rich, whose name was Booz.

2:1  And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.

2:2  And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after [him] in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said to her, Go, my daughter.

2:3  Šla tedy, přišla na pole a sbírala za ženci klasy. Shodou okolností patřil ten díl pole Bóazovi z Elímelekovy čeledi.

2:3  Šla tedy, a přišedši, sbírala klasy na poli za ženci. Přihodilo se pak, že přišla na díl pole toho, kteréž přináleželo Bózovi, jenž byl z čeledi Elimelechovy.

2:3  And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her lot was to light on a part of the field [belonging] to Boaz, who [was] of the kindred of Elimelech.

2:4  Tu přišel z Betléma Bóaz a pozdravil žence: „Hospodin s vámi.“ Odpověděli: „Hospodin ti žehnej.“

2:4  And behold, Boaz came from Beth-lehem, and said to the reapers, The LORD [be] with you. And they answered him, The LORD bless thee.

2:5  And Booz said to the young man that was set over the reapers: Whose maid is this ?

2:7  And she desired leave to glean the ears of corn that remain, following the steps of the reapers: and she hath been in the field from morning till now, and hath not gone home for one moment.

2:7  And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house.

2:8  And Booz said to Ruth: Hear me, daughter, do not go to glean in any other field, and do not depart from this place: but keep with my maids,

2:8  Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens:

2:8  Bóaz oslovil Rút: „Poslyš, má dcero. Nechoď sbírat na jiné pole a neodcházej odtud. Přidrž se mých děveček.

2:8  Then said Boaz to Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens:

2:8  Then Boaz said to Ruth, "Listen, my daughter. Do not go to glean in another field, and do not go from here, but stay here close to my maidens.

2:8  Et ait Booz ad Ruth : Audi, filia, ne vadas in alterum agrum ad colligendum, nec recedas ab hoc loco : sed jungere puellis meis,

2:9  And follow where they reap. For I have charged my young men, not to molest thee: and if thou art thirsty, go to the vessels, and drink of the waters whereof the servants drink.

2:9  Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn.

2:9  Podívej se vždy, na které části pole budou sklízet, a jdi za nimi. Poručil jsem služebníkům, aby tě neobtěžovali. Budeš-li mít žízeň, jdi k nádobám a napij se vody, kterou služebníci načerpají.“

2:9  [Let] thy eyes [be] on the field that they are reaping, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art thirsty go to the vessels, and drink of [that] which the young men have drawn.

2:10  She fell on her face, and worshipping upon the ground, said to him: Whence cometh this to me, that I should find grace before thy eyes, and that thou shouldst vouchsafe to take notice of me, a woman of another country?

2:10  Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger?

2:10  Tu padla na tvář, poklonila se k zemi, a otázala se ho: „Jak to, že jsem u tebe došla přízně, že se mě ujímáš, ačkoli jsem cizinka?“

2:10  Rút padla na tvář a poklonila se až k zemi se slovy: „Čemu vděčím za tu laskavost, že se ke mně znáš? Vždyť jsem cizinka.“

2:10  Tehdy padla na tvář, poklonila se k zemi a zeptala se ho: Jak to, že jsem nalezla milost ve tvých očích, že sis mě všiml, i když jsem cizinka?

2:10  Tedy ona padla na tvář svou, a schýlivši se k zemi, řekla jemu: Odkudž mi to, že jsem nalezla milost před tebou, abys se známil ke mně, kteráž jsem cizozemka.

2:10  Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said to him, Why have I found grace in thy eyes, that thou shouldst take knowledge of me, seeing I [am] a stranger?

2:11  And he answered her: All hath been told me, that thou hast done to thy mother in law after the death of thy husband: and how thou hast left thy parents, and the land wherein thou wast born, and art come to a people which thou knewest not heretofore.

2:11  And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.

2:11  Bóaz jí odpověděl: „Jsem dobře zpraven o všem, co jsi po smrti svého muže učinila pro svou tchyni, že jsi opustila otce a matku i rodnou zemi a odešla jsi k lidu, který jsi dříve neznala.

2:11  Bóaz jí odpověděl. Řekl: Je mi dobře známo všechno, co jsi udělala pro svou tchýni po smrti svého muže; že jsi opustila svého otce, svou matku i svou rodnou zemi a odešla k lidu, který jsi nikdy dříve neznala.

2:11  Odpověděl Bóz a řekl: O všemť mi oznámeno jest, co jsi koli činila svegruši své po smrti muže svého, a že opustivši otce svého a matku svou, i zemi, v kteréžs se narodila, šla jsi mezi lid, kteréhožs prvé neznala.

2:11  And Boaz answered and said to her, It hath fully been shown to me, all that thou hast done to thy mother-in-law since the death of thy husband: and [how] thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and hast come to a people which thou knewest not heretofore.

2:11  Boaz answered her, "It has fully been shown to me, all that you have done to your mother-in-law since the death of your husband; and how you have left your father and your mother, and the land of your birth, and have come to a people that you didn't know before.

2:11  And Boaz answered and said to her, It has fully been showed me, all that you have done to your mother in law since the death of your husband: and how you have left your father and your mother, and the land of your nativity, and are come to a people which you knew not heretofore.

2:11  Cui ille respondit : Nuntiata sunt mihi omnia quæ feceris socrui tuæ post mortem viri tui : et quod reliqueris parentes tuos, et terram in qua nata es, et veneris ad populum, quem antea nesciebas.

2:12  The Lord render unto thee for thy work, and mayst thou receive a full reward of the Lord the God of Israel, to whom thou art come, and under whose wings thou art fled.

2:12  The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

2:12  Nechť ti Hospodin odplatí za tvůj skutek. Ať tě bohatě odmění Hospodin, Bůh Izraele, pod jehož křídla ses přišla ukrýt!“

2:12  Kéž ti Hospodin za tvůj skutek odplatí! Kéž tě hojně odmění Hospodin, Bůh Izraele, pod jehož křídla ses přišla skrýt.“

2:12  Ať Hospodin odplatí tvůj skutek a ať je dovršená tvá odměna od Hospodina, Boha Izraele, pod jehož křídla jsi přišla najít útočiště.

2:12  Odplatiž tobě Hospodin za skutek tvůj, a budiž mzda tvá dokonalá od Hospodina Boha Izraelského, poněvadž jsi přišla, abys pod křídly jeho doufala.

2:12  The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou hast come to trust.

2:12  May the Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given you from the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge."

2:13  And she said: I have found grace in thy eyes, my lord, who hast comforted me, and hast spoken to the heart of thy handmaid, who am not like to one of thy maids.

2:13  Then she said, Let me find favour in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine handmaid, though I be not like unto one of thine handmaidens.

2:13  Ona řekla: „Kéž bys mi i nadále projevoval přízeň, pane. Potěšil jsi mě, že jsi se svou otrokyní mluvil přívětivě, ačkoli se nemohu rovnat žádné z tvých otrokyň.“

2:13  „Jsi ke mně tak laskavý, pane,“ odvětila. „Potěšil jsi mě a mluvil jsi ke své služebnici přívětivě, přestože ani nepatřím k tvým služebným.“

2:13  Nato řekla: ⌈Kéž naleznu milost ve tvých očích,⌉ můj pane, protože jsi mne potěšil a protože ⌈jsi mluvil k srdci⌉ své otrokyně, ačkoliv já nejsem rovna žádné tvé otrokyni.

2:13  Kterážto řekla: Nalezla jsem milost před tebou, pane můj, poněvadž jsi mne potěšil, a mluvils k srdci děvky své, ješto nejsem podobná jedné z děvek tvých.

2:13  Then she said, Let me find favor in thy sight, my lord; for that thou hast comforted me, and for that thou hast spoken kindly to thy handmaid, though I am not like to one of thy handmaidens.

2:13  Then she said, "Let me find favor in your sight, my lord, because you have comforted me, and because you have spoken kindly to your handmaid, though I am not as one of your handmaidens."

2:13  Then she said, Let me find favor in your sight, my lord; for that you have comforted me, and for that you have spoken friendly to your handmaid, though I be not like to one of your handmaidens.

2:13  Quæ ait : Inveni gratiam apud oculos tuos, domine mi, qui consolatus es me, et locutus es ad cor ancillæ tuæ, quæ non sum similis unius puellarum tuarum.

2:14  And Booz said to her: At mealtime come thou hither, and eat of the bread, and dip thy morsel in the vinegar. So she sat at the side of the reapers, and she heaped to herself frumenty, and ate and was filled, and took the leavings.

2:14  And Boaz said unto her, At mealtime come thou hither, and eat of the bread, and dip thy morsel in the vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers: and he reached her parched corn, and she did eat, and was sufficed, and left.

2:14  V době jídla jí Bóaz řekl: Přistup sem, pojez chléb a namoč si sousto v octě. Posadila se poblíž ženců. Nabídl jí pražené zrní a ona pojedla, nasytila se a ještě jí zbylo.

2:14  Tedy řekl jí Bóz: Když bude čas jísti, přistup sem, a pojez chleba, a omoč skyvu svou v octě. I posadila se při žencích, a podal jí pražmy; ona pak jedla až do sytosti, a ještě jí zbylo.

2:14  And Boaz said to her, At meal-time come thou hither, and eat of the bread, and dip thy morsel in the vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers: and he reached her parched [corn], and she ate, and was satisfied, and left.

2:14  At meal time Boaz said to her, "Come here, and eat of the bread, and dip your morsel in the vinegar." She sat beside the reapers, and they reached her parched grain, and she ate, and was satisfied, and left some of it.

2:14  And Boaz said to her, At mealtime come you here, and eat of the bread, and dip your morsel in the vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers: and he reached her parched corn, and she did eat, and was sufficed, and left.

2:14  Dixitque ad eam Booz : Quando hora vescendi fuerit, veni huc, et comede panem, et intinge buccellam tuam in aceto. Sedit itaque ad messorum latus, et congessit polentam sibi, comeditque et saturata est, et tulit reliquias.

2:15  And she arose from thence, to glean the ears of corn as before. And Booz commanded his servants, saying: If she would even reap with you, hinder her not:

2:15  And when she was risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Let her glean even among the sheaves, and reproach her not:
