4:2  dostavili se k Zerubábelovi a k představitelům rodů s návrhem: „Budeme stavět s vámi, neboť se dotazujeme vašeho Boha stejně jako vy. Obětujeme mu ode dnů asyrského krále Esar-chadóna, který nás sem přesídlil.“

4:2  přišli za Zerubábelem a za představiteli otcovských rodů s návrhem: „Budeme stavět s vámi! Ctíme vašeho Boha stejně jako vy; obětujeme mu od té doby, co nás sem přesídlil asyrský král Esar-chadon.“

4:2  přistoupili k Zerubábelovi a k předákům rodů a řekli jim: Budeme stavět s vámi, vždyť hledáme vašeho Boha tak jako vy a obětujeme mu ode dnů asyrského krále Esarchadóna, který nás sem přivedl.

4:2  Přistoupili k Zorobábelovi a k knížatům čeledí otcovských, a řekli jim: Budeme s vámi stavěti; nebo jako i vy hledati budeme Boha vašeho, jemuž i oběti obětujeme ode dnů Esarchaddona krále Assyrského, kterýž nás sem uvedl.

4:2  Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said to them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye [do]; and we do sacrifice to him since the days of Esar-haddon king of Assur, who brought us up hither.

4:3  But Zorobabel, and Josue, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel said to them: You have nothing to do with us to build a house to our God, but we ourselves alone will build to the Lord our God, as Cyrus king of the Persians hath commanded us.

4:3  Ale Zerubábel a Jéšua i ostatní představitelé izraelských rodů jim odpověděli: „Vy s námi nemůžete stavět dům našeho Boha. Hospodinu, Bohu Izraele, budeme stavět my sami, jak nám přikázal král Kýros, král perský!“

4:3  Zerubábel, Jošua a ostatní představitelé izraelských otcovských rodů jim ale odpověděli: „Nemůžete s námi stavět chrám našemu Bohu. Budeme stavět Hospodinu, Bohu Izraele, sami, jak nám přikázal perský král Kýros.“

4:3  Zerubábel, Jéšua a ostatní předáci izraelských rodů jim řekli: Neexistuje, abychom společně stavěli dům našemu Bohu. My sami budeme stavět Hospodinu, Bohu Izraele, jak přikázal král Kýros, král perský.

4:3  Tedy řekl jim Zorobábel a Jesua i jiná knížata čeledí otcovských z Izraele: Ne vám, ale nám náleží stavěti dům Bohu našemu; nebo my sami stavěti budeme Hospodinu Bohu Izraelskému, jakž přikázal nám král Cýrus, král Perský.

4:12  Be it known to the king, that the Jews, who came up from thee to us, are come to Jerusalem a rebellious and wicked city, which they are building, setting up the ramparts thereof and repairing the walls.

4:12  Známo buď králi, že židé, kteří odešli od tebe, přišli sem do Jeruzaléma a stavějí toto odbojné a protivící se město. Chtějí dokončit hradby, už spojují základy.

4:12  Oznamujeme králi, že Židé, kteří od tebe dorazili k nám, se usadili v Jeruzalémě a chtějí to zlé a odbojné město znovu vystavět. Začali budovat hradby a už opravili základy.

4:12  Be it known to the king, that the Jews who came from thee to us are come to Jerusalem, building the rebellious and the noxious city, and have set up its walls, and joined the foundations.

4:13  And now be it known to the king, that if this city be built up, and the walls thereof repaired, they will not pay tribute nor toll, nor yearly revenues, and this loss will fall upon the kings.

4:13  Be it known now unto the king, that, if this city be builded, and the walls set up again, then will they not pay toll, tribute, and custom, and so thou shalt endamage the revenue of the kings.

4:13  Nuže, známo buď králi, bude-li toto město vystavěno a jeho hradby dokončeny, že už nebudou odvádět daně, dávky z úrod ani jiné poplatky, takže královská pokladna utrpí škodu.

4:13  Oznamujeme králi, že pokud to město bude vystavěno a jeho hradby dokončeny, přestanou odvádět dávky, daně i poplatky, čímž způsobí škodu královské pokladně.

4:13  Známo tedy budiž králi, že bude–li toto město vystavěno a jeho hradby dokončeny, daně, dávky ani poplatky odvádět nebudou, což bude nakonec ke škodě ⌈královské pokladně.⌉

4:13  Protož nyní buď vědomo králi, bude-li to město vystaveno, a zdi dodělány, platuť, cla a úroku dávati nebudou, a tak komoře královské újma bude.

4:13  Be it known now to the king, that, if this city shall be built, and the walls set up [again], [then] they will not pay toll, tribute, and custom, and [so] thou wilt endamage the revenue of the kings.

4:13  Be it known now to the king that if this city is built, and the walls finished, they will not pay tribute, custom, or toll, and in the end it will be hurtful to the kings.

4:13  Be it known now to the king, that, if this city be built, and the walls set up again, then will they not pay toll, tribute, and custom, and so you shall damage the revenue of the kings.

4:14  But we remembering the salt that we have eaten in the palace, and because we count it a crime to see the king wronged, have therefore sent and certified the king,

4:14  Now because we have maintenance from the king’s palace, and it was not meet for us to see the king’s dishonour, therefore have we sent and certified the king;

4:14  Protože však my okoušíme dobrodiní paláce, nenáleží se, abychom přihlíželi, jak je král odírán; proto posíláme králi tuto zprávu.

4:15  That search may be made in the books of the histories of thy fathers, and thou shalt find written in the records: and shalt know that this city is a rebellious city, and hurtful to the kings and provinces, and that wars were raised therein of old time: for which cause also the city was destroyed.

4:15  Nechť se hledá v knize zápisů tvých otců. Nalezneš v knize zápisů a dozvíš se, že toto město je odbojné a působilo škody králům i krajům. Odedávna v něm docházelo ke vzpourám. Proto bylo to město zpustošeno.
