13:1  When Ephraim spoke, a horror seized Israel: and he sinned in Baal, and died.

13:1  When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.

13:1  Kdykoli Efrajim promluvil, nastalo zděšení, byl vznešený v Izraeli, ale provinil se Baalem a propadl smrti.

13:1  Efraimova slova bázeň budila, v Izraeli býval vznešený, provinil se ale ctěním Baala, a tak se zahubil.

13:2  A přesto hřeší dál, odlévají si modly, modlářské stvůry ze stříbra podle svých nápadů. Všechno je to jen výrobek řemeslníků. O těch modlách říkají: „Ti, kdo obětují, ať líbají býčky.“

13:2  A nyní hřeší dál a dál; odlévají si sochy ze stříbra, modly, které si sami vymysleli – všechny je řemeslník vyrobil! Říkají, že se jim prý obětovat má… Lidé líbají telata!

13:8  střetnu se s nimi jako medvědice zbavená mláďat. Hruď až k srdci jim roztrhám, sežeru je tam jako lvice; polní zvěř je rozsápe.

13:8  napadnu je jak zuřivá medvědice, vyrvu jim z hrudi srdce, sežeru je tam jako lvice, roztrhám je jak divá zvěř!

13:8  ⌈Napadnu je⌉ jako medvědice zbavená mláďat, rozervu ⌈jim hruď,⌉ sežeru je tam jako lvice, rozsápu je jako polní zvěř.

13:8  Potkám se s nimi jako nedvěd osiřelý, a roztrhám všecko srdce jejich, a sežeru je tam jako lev, jako zvěř divoká roztrhující je.
