Chapter 14
I Ch DRC 14:1  And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and masons, and carpenters, to build him a house.
I Ch KJV 14:1  Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.
I Ch DRC 14:2  And David perceived that the Lord had confirmed him king over Israel, and that his kingdom was exalted over his people Israel.
I Ch VulgClem 14:2  Cognovitque David quod confirmasset eum Dominus in regem super Israël, et sublevatum esset regnum suum super populum ejus Israël.
I Ch KJV 14:2  And David perceived that the Lord had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.
I Ch DRC 14:3  And David took other wives in Jerusalem: and he begot sons, and daughters.
I Ch VulgClem 14:3  Accepit quoque David alias uxores in Jerusalem, genuitque filios et filias.
I Ch KJV 14:3  And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.
I Ch DRC 14:4  Now these are the names of them that were born to him in Jerusalem: Samua, and Sobad, Nathan, and Solomon,
I Ch KJV 14:4  Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
I Ch DRC 14:5  Jebahar, and Elisua, and Eliphalet,
I Ch VulgClem 14:5  Jebahar, et Elisua, et Eliphalet,
I Ch KJV 14:5  And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,
I Ch DRC 14:6  And Noga, and Napheg, and Japhia,
I Ch VulgClem 14:6  Noga quoque, et Napheg, et Japhia,
I Ch KJV 14:6  And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
I Ch DRC 14:7  Elisama, and Baaliada, and Eliphalet.
I Ch VulgClem 14:7  Elisama, et Baaliada, et Eliphalet.
I Ch KJV 14:7  And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
I Ch DRC 14:8  And the Philistines hearing that David was anointed king over all Israel, went all up to seek him: and David heard of it, and went out against them.
I Ch KJV 14:8  And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.
I Ch DRC 14:9  And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the vale of Raphaim.
I Ch VulgClem 14:9  Porro Philisthiim venientes, diffusi sunt in valle Raphaim.
I Ch KJV 14:9  And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
I Ch DRC 14:10  And David consulted the Lord, saying: Shall I go up against the Philistines, and wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And the Lord said to him: Go up, and I will deliver them into thy hand.
I Ch KJV 14:10  And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.
I Ch DRC 14:11  And when they were come to Baalpharasim, David defeated them there, and he said: God hath divided my enemies by my hand, as waters are divided: and therefore the name of that place was called Baalpharasim.
I Ch VulgClem 14:11  Cumque illi ascendissent in Baalpharasim, percussit eos ibi David, et dixit : Divisit Deus inimicos meos per manum meam, sicut dividuntur aquæ : et idcirco vocatum est nomen illius loci Baalpharasim.
I Ch KJV 14:11  So they came up to Baal–perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal–perazim.
I Ch DRC 14:12  And they left there their gods, and David commanded that they should be burnt.
I Ch VulgClem 14:12  Dereliqueruntque ibi deos suos, quos David jussit exuri.
I Ch KJV 14:12  And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
I Ch DRC 14:13  Another time also the Philistines made an irruption, and spread themselves abroad in the valley.
I Ch KJV 14:13  And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.
I Ch DRC 14:14  And David consulted God again, and God said to him: Go not up after them, turn away from them, and come upon them over against the pear trees.
I Ch KJV 14:14  Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
I Ch DRC 14:15  And when thou shalt hear the sound of one going in the tops of the pear trees, then shalt thou go out to battle. For God is gone out before thee to strike the army of the Philistines.
I Ch KJV 14:15  And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
I Ch DRC 14:16  And David did as God had commanded him, and defeated the army of the Philistines, slaying them from Gabaon to Gazera.
I Ch VulgClem 14:16  Fecit ergo David sicut præceperat ei Deus, et percussit castra Philisthinorum, de Gabaon usque Gazera.
I Ch KJV 14:16  David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
I Ch DRC 14:17  And the name of David became famous in all countries, and the Lord made all nations fear aim.
I Ch VulgClem 14:17  Divulgatumque est nomen David in universis regionibus, et Dominus dedit pavorem ejus super omnes gentes.
I Ch KJV 14:17  And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the Lord brought the fear of him upon all nations.
