3:1  And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon, and he made affinity with Pharao, the king of Egypt: for he took his daughter, and brought her into the city of David: until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of the Lord, and the wall of Jerusalem round about.

3:6  Šalomoun odvětil: „Ty jsi prokazoval velké milosrdenství svému služebníku, mému otci Davidovi, a on před tebou chodil věrně, spravedlivě a se srdcem upřímným vůči tobě. Toto velké milosrdenství jsi mu zachoval a dal jsi mu syna, který sedí na jeho trůnu, jak je tomu dnes.

3:6  Šalomoun odpověděl: „Prokázal jsi mému otci Davidovi velikou přízeň, neboť žil před tebou věrně a spravedlivě a s upřímným srdcem stál při tobě. Tuto velikou přízeň jsi mu zachoval, když jsi dal, aby jeho syn seděl na jeho trůnu, jak tomu dnes je.

3:6  Šalomoun řekl: Ty jsi ⌈prokázal svému⌉ otroku, mému otci Davidovi, velké milosrdenství, když před tebou chodil věrně a spravedlivě, s upřímným srdcem vůči tobě. Zachoval jsi mu toto velké milosrdenství a dal jsi mu syna, který sedí na jeho trůnu, jak je tomu dnes.

3:6  I řekl Šalomoun: Ty jsi učinil s služebníkem svým Davidem, otcem mým, milosrdenství veliké, když chodil před tebou v pravdě a v spravedlnosti, a v upřímnosti srdce stál při tobě. Ovšem zachoval jsi jemu zvláštní toto milosrdenství, že jsi dal jemu syna, kterýž by seděl na stolici jeho, jakž se to dnes vidí.

3:6  And Solomon said, Thou hast shown to thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as [it is] this day.

3:7  And now, O Lord God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David, my father: and I am but a child, and know not how to go out and come in;

3:11  And God said to him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thy enemies: but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

3:12  Behold I have done for thee according to thy words, and have given thee a wise and understanding heart, in so much that there hath been no one like thee before thee, nor shall arise after thee.

3:12  hle, učiním podle tvých slov. Dávám ti moudré a rozumné srdce, takže nikdo tobě podobný nebyl před tebou a ani po tobě nepovstane nikdo tobě podobný.

3:12  proto udělám, co jsi řekl. Dám ti moudré a rozumné srdce, takže ti nebude rovného v minulosti ani v budoucnu.
