4:1  For the rest therefore, brethren, pray and beseech you in the Lord Jesus that, as you have received from us, how you ought to walk and to please God, so also you would walk, that you may abound the more.

4:1  Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

4:1  Konečně vás, bratří, prosíme a napomínáme v Pánu Ježíši, abyste vždy více prospívali v tom, co jste od nás přijali a co už také činíte: žijte tak, abyste se líbili Bohu.

4:1  Dále vás, bratři, prosíme a vyzýváme v Pánu Ježíši, abyste stále rostli v tom, co jste od nás přijali a co už děláte – žijte tak, abyste se líbili Bohu.

4:1  Nakonec vás, bratři, žádáme a vyzýváme v Pánu Ježíši, abyste se ještě více rozhojňovali v tom, co jste od nás převzali a ⌈co už také činíte⌉ -- totiž jak máte žít, abyste se líbili Bohu.

4:1  Dále pak, bratří, prosíme vás, a napomínáme v Pánu Ježíši, jakož jste přijali od nás, kterak byste měli choditi, a líbiti se Bohu, v tom abyste se rozhojnili více.

4:2  For you know what precepts I have given to you by the Lord Jesus.

4:6  Ať nikdo v této věci nevybočuje z mezí a neklame svého bratra, protože Pán ztrestá takové jednání, jak jsme vám už dříve řekli a dosvědčili.

4:6  Nikdo ať v této věci nepřekračuje meze a nepodvádí svého bratra. Jak jsme vám už dříve zdůrazňovali, Pán všechny takové věci přísně trestá.

4:6  a aby nikdo nepřekračoval meze a ⌈neklamal v této věci svého⌉ bratra, protože Pán je mstitelem v těch všech věcech, jak jsme vám také předem řekli a plně dosvědčili.

4:6  A aby neutiskal ani oklamával v jednání bratra svého, proto že mstitel jest Pán všeho toho, jakož i předpověděli jsme vám, a osvědčili.

4:6  That no [man] go beyond and defraud his brother in [any] matter: because the Lord [is] the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.

4:8  Kdo tím pohrdá, nepohrdá člověkem, nýbrž Bohem, jenž vám dává svého svatého Ducha.

4:8  He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given to us his holy Spirit.

4:9  But as touching the charity of brotherhood, we have no need to write to you: for yourselves have learned of God to love one another.

4:9  O bratrské lásce není třeba, abych vám psal, neboť Bůh sám vás vyučil, jak se máte mít mezi sebou rádi.

4:10  For indeed you do it towards all the brethren in all Macedonia. But we entreat you, brethren, that you abound more:

4:10  And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;

4:10  A takoví opravdu jste ke všem bratřím v celé Makedonii; jen vás prosíme, bratří, abyste v tom byli stále horlivější.

4:10  jak to také prokazujete všem bratrům po celé Makedonii. Prosíme vás, abyste v tom stále rostli.

4:10  And indeed ye do it towards all the brethren who are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;

4:10  Etenim illud facitis in omnes fratres in universa Macedonia. Rogamus autem vos, fratres, ut abundetis magis,

4:11  And that you use your endeavour to be quiet: and that you do your own business and work with your own hands, as we commanded you: and that you walk honestly towards them that are without: and that you want nothing of any man's.

4:11  And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

4:11  Zakládejte si na tom, že budete žít pokojně, věnovat se své práci a získávat obživu vlastníma rukama, jak jsme vám již dříve uložili.

4:11  Snažte se žít pokojně, starejte se o své věci a pracujte vlastníma rukama, jak jsme vám uložili.

4:11  a zakládali si na pokojném životě, věnovali se vlastním věcem a pracovali vlastníma rukama, jak jsme vám přikázali,

4:11  And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

4:12  And we will not have you ignorant brethren, concerning them that are asleep, that you be not sorrowful, even as others who have no hope.

4:12  That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

4:12  Tak získáte úctu těch, kdo stojí mimo, a na nikoho nebudete odkázáni.

4:12  Před těmi, kdo k vám nepatří, tak povedete poctivý život beze všeho nedostatku.

4:13  Nechceme vás, bratří, nechat v nevědomosti o údělu těch, kdo zesnuli, abyste se nermoutili jako ti, kteří nemají naději.

4:13  Nechceme, bratři, abyste nevěděli o našich zesnulých. Nemusíte nad nimi truchlit jako jiní, kteří nemají naději.

4:13  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them who are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others who have no hope.

4:14  Věříme-li, že Ježíš zemřel a vstal z mrtvých, pak také víme, že Bůh ty, kdo zemřeli ve víře v Ježíše, přivede spolu s ním k životu.

4:14  Ježíš, jak věříme, zemřel a vstal z mrtvých; právě tak věříme, že Bůh přivede s Ježíšem k životu i ty, kdo zesnuli v něm.

4:14  Jestliže však věříme, že Ježíš zemřel a vstal z mrtvých, tak Bůh také ⌈ty, kdo zemřeli skrze Ježíše, přivede⌉ s ním.

4:15  Toto vám říkáme podle slova Páně: My živí, kteří se dočkáme příchodu Páně, zesnulé nepředejdeme.

4:15  Máme pro vás slovo od Pána: My, kdo se dožijeme Pánova příchodu, nepředejdeme ty, kdo zesnuli.

4:15  Neboť toto vám říkáme slovem Pánovým: My živí, kteří jsme tu ponecháni do příchodu Pána, jistě nepředejdeme ty, kteří zesnuli,

4:15  For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive [and] remain to the coming of the Lord shall not precede them who are asleep.

4:16  Zazní povel, hlas archanděla a zvuk Boží polnice, sám Pán sestoupí z nebe, a ti, kdo zemřeli v Kristu, vstanou nejdříve;

4:16  Ozve se burcující povel, hlas archanděla a Boží polnice, sám Pán sestoupí z nebe a tehdy jako první vstanou mrtví v Kristu.

4:17  potom my živí, kteří se toho dočkáme, budeme spolu s nimi uchváceni v oblacích vzhůru vstříc Pánu. A pak už navždy budeme s Pánem.
