Chapter 6
I Ti DRC 6:1  Whosoever are servants under the yoke, let them count their masters worthy of all honour; lest the name of the Lord and his doctrine be blasphemed.
I Ti VulgClem 6:1  Quicumque sunt sub jugo servi, dominos suos omni honore dignos arbitrentur, ne nomen Domini et doctrina blasphemetur.
I Ti KJV 6:1  Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
I Ti DRC 6:2  But they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but serve them the rather, because they are faithful and beloved, who are partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.
I Ti KJV 6:2  And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.
I Ti DRC 6:3  If any man teach otherwise and consent not to the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and to that doctrine which is according to godliness,
I Ti KJV 6:3  If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
I Ti DRC 6:4  He is proud, knowing nothing, but sick about questions and strifes of words; from which arise envies, contentions, blasphemies, evil suspicions,
I Ti KJV 6:4  He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
I Ti DRC 6:5  Conflicts of men corrupted in mind and who are destitute of the truth, supposing gain to be godliness.
I Ti KJV 6:5  Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
I Ti DRC 6:6  But godliness with contentment is great gain.
I Ti VulgClem 6:6  Est autem quæstus magnus pietas cum sufficientia.
I Ti KJV 6:6  But godliness with contentment is great gain.
I Ti DRC 6:7  For we brought nothing into this world: and certainly we can carry nothing out.
I Ti KJV 6:7  For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
I Ti DRC 6:8  But having food and wherewith to be covered, with these we are content.
I Ti VulgClem 6:8  Habentes autem alimenta, et quibus tegamur, his contenti simus.
I Ti KJV 6:8  And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
I Ti DRC 6:9  For they that will become rich fall into temptation and into the snare of the devil and into many unprofitable and hurtful desires, which drown men into destruction and perdition.
I Ti VulgClem 6:9  Nam qui volunt divites fieri, incidunt in tentationem, et in laqueum diaboli, et desideria multa inutilia, et nociva, quæ mergunt homines in interitum et perditionem.
I Ti KJV 6:9  But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
I Ti DRC 6:10  For the desire of money is the root of all evils; which some coveting have erred from the faith and have entangled themselves in many sorrows.
I Ti VulgClem 6:10  Radix enim omnium malorum est cupiditas : quam quidam appetentes erraverunt a fide, et inseruerunt se doloribus multis.
I Ti KJV 6:10  For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
I Ti DRC 6:11  But thou, O man of God, fly these things: and pursue justice, godliness, faith, charity, patience, mildness.
I Ti VulgClem 6:11  Tu autem, o homo Dei, hæc fuge : sectare vero justitiam, pietatem, fidem, caritatem, patientiam, mansuetudinem.
I Ti KJV 6:11  But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
I Ti DRC 6:12  Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art called and be it confessed a good confession before many witnesses.
I Ti VulgClem 6:12  Certa bonum certamen fidei, apprehende vitam æternam, in qua vocatus es, et confessus bonam confessionem coram multis testibus.
I Ti KJV 6:12  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
I Ti DRC 6:13  I charge thee before God who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus who gave testimony under Pontius Pilate, a good confession:
I Ti VulgClem 6:13  Præcipio tibi coram Deo, qui vivificat omnia, et Christo Jesu, qui testimonium reddidit sub Pontio Pilato, bonam confessionem,
I Ti KJV 6:13  I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
I Ti DRC 6:14  That thou keep the commandment without spot, blameless, unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,
I Ti VulgClem 6:14  ut serves mandatum sine macula, irreprehensibile usque in adventum Domini nostri Jesu Christi,
I Ti KJV 6:14  That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
I Ti DRC 6:15  Which in his times he shall shew, who is the Blessed and only Mighty, the King of kings and Lord of lords:
I Ti VulgClem 6:15  quem suis temporibus ostendet beatus et solus potens, Rex regum, et Dominus dominantium :
I Ti KJV 6:15  Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
I Ti DRC 6:16  Who only hath immortality and inhabiteth light inaccessible: whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and empire everlasting. Amen.
Amen.
I Ti KJV 6:16  Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
I Ti DRC 6:17  Charge the rich of this world not to be highminded nor to trust in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God (who giveth us abundantly all things to enjoy)
I Ti KJV 6:17  Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
I Ti DRC 6:18  To do good, to be rich in good work, to give easily, to communicate to others,
I Ti VulgClem 6:18  bene agere, divites fieri in bonis operibus, facile tribuere, communicare,
I Ti KJV 6:18  That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
I Ti DRC 6:19  To lay up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on the true life.
I Ti VulgClem 6:19  thesaurizare sibi fundamentum bonum in futurum, ut apprehendant veram vitam.
I Ti KJV 6:19  Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
I Ti DRC 6:20  O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding the profane novelties of words and oppositions of knowledge falsely so called.
I Ti VulgClem 6:20  O Timothee, depositum custodi, devitans profanas vocum novitates, et oppositiones falsi nominis scientiæ,
I Ti KJV 6:20  O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
I Ti DRC 6:21  Which some promising, have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
I Ti VulgClem 6:21  quam quidam promittentes, circa fidem exciderunt. Gratia tecum. Amen.
I Ti KJV 6:21  Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. The first to Timothy was written from Laodicea, which is the chiefest city of Phrygia Pacatiana.
