7:1  Then Jerobaal, who is the same as Gedeon, rising up early, and all the people with him, came to the fountain that is called Harad. Now the camp of Madian was in the valley, on the north side of the high hill.

7:1  Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.

7:1  Za časného jitra se Jerubaal, to je Gedeón, a všechen lid, který byl s ním, utábořili u pramene Charódu. Tábor Midjánců byl od něho na sever, v dolině za návrším Móre.

7:1  Ráno se pak Jerub-baal (totiž Gedeon) s celým svým vojskem utábořil u pramene Charod. Tábor Midiánců ležel severně od nich, v údolí pod vrchem More.

7:1  Časně ráno vstal Jerubaal, tedy Gedeón, a všechen lid, který byl s ním, a utábořili se u Én–charódu. Tábor Midjánců byl u něho v údolí severně od návrší Móre.

7:1  Tedy vstav ráno Jerobál, (jenž jest Gedeon,) i všecken lid, kterýž byl s ním, položili se při studnici Charod, vojska pak Madianských byla jim na půlnoci před vrchem More v údolí.

7:2  And the Lord said to Gedeon: The people that are with thee are many, and Madian shall not be delivered into their hands: lest Israel should glory against me, and say: I was delivered by my own strength.

7:2  And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.

7:2  I řekl Hospodin Gedeónovi: „Je s tebou příliš mnoho lidu, než abych jim vydal Midjánce do rukou, aby se Izrael vůči mně nevychloubal: ‚Vysvobodil jsem se vlastní rukou.‘

7:2  And the LORD said to Gideon, The people that [are] with thee [are] too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, My own hand hath saved me.

7:2  The Lord said to Gideon, "The people who are with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, 'My own hand has saved me.'

7:2  Dixitque Dominus ad Gedeon : Multus tecum est populus, nec tradetur Madian in manus ejus : ne glorietur contra me Israël, et dicat : Meis viribus liberatus sum.

7:3  Speak to the people, and proclaim in the hearing of all: Whosoever is fearful and timorous, let him return. So two and twenty thousand men went away from Mount Galaad and returned home, and only ten thousand remained.

7:3  Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.

7:3  Loquere ad populum, et cunctis audientibus prædica : Qui formidolosus et timidus est, revertatur. Recesseruntque de monte Galaad, et reversi sunt de populo viginti duo millia virorum, et tantum decem millia remanserunt.

7:4  And the Lord said to Gedeon: The people are still too many, bring them to the waters, and there I will try them: and of whom I shall say to thee, This shall go with thee, let him go: whom I shall forbid to go, let him return.

7:4  And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.

7:4  Hospodin však Gedeónovi řekl: „Ještě je lidu mnoho. Poruč jim, ať sestoupí k vodě, tam ti je vyzkouším. O kom ti řeknu: Půjde s tebou, ten s tebou půjde. Ale nesmí jít s tebou nikdo, o kom ti řeknu: Ten s tebou nepůjde.“

7:4  Hospodin řekl Gedeonovi: „Vojsko je stále příliš velké. Zaveď je dolů k vodě a tam ti je protříbím. O kom řeknu: ‚Půjde s tebou,‘ ten s tebou půjde. O kom řeknu: ‚Nepůjde s tebou,‘ ten nepůjde.“

7:4  Ale Hospodin Gedeónovi řekl: Ještě je lidu mnoho. Nech je sestoupit k vodě, ať ti je tam přečistím. I stane se toto: O kom ti řeknu: Tenhle půjde s tebou, ten s tebou půjde, a každý, o kom ti řeknu: Tenhle s tebou nepůjde, ten nepůjde.

7:4  Řekl opět Hospodin Gedeonovi: Ještě jest mnoho lidu; kaž jim sstoupiti k vodám, a tam jej tobě zkusím. I bude, že o komžkoli řeknu: Tento půjde s tebou, ten ať s tebou jde, a o komžkoli řeknu tobě: Tento nepůjde s tebou, ten ať nechodí.

7:4  And the LORD said to Gideon, The people [are] yet [too] many; bring them down to the water, and I will try them for thee there; and it shall be, [that] of whom I say to thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say to thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.

7:4  The Lord said to Gideon, "The people are yet too many; bring them down to the water, and I will try them for you there: and it shall be, that of whom I tell you, This shall go with you, the same shall go with you; and of whoever I tell you, This shall not go with you, the same shall not go.

7:4  And the LORD said to Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down to the water, and I will try them for you there: and it shall be, that of whom I say to you, This shall go with you, the same shall go with you; and of whomsoever I say to you, This shall not go with you, the same shall not go.

7:4  Dixitque Dominus ad Gedeon : Adhuc populus multus est : duc eos ad aquas et ibi probabo illos : et de quo dixero tibi ut tecum vadat, ipse pergat ; quem ire prohibuero, revertatur.

7:5  And when the people were come down to the waters, the Lord said to Gedeon: They that shall lap the water with their tongues, as dogs are wont to lap, thou shalt set apart by themselves: but they that shall drink bowing down their knees, shall be on the other side.

7:5  So he brought down the people unto the water: and the Lord said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink.

7:5  Poručil tedy lidu sestoupit k vodě. Hospodin řekl Gedeónovi: „Postavíš zvlášť každého, kdo bude chlemtat vodu jazykem jako pes, a každého, kdo si při pití klekne na kolena.“

7:5  Odvedl tedy vojsko dolů k vodě. Tam Hospodin Gedeonovi řekl: „Všechny, kdo chlemtají vodu jako pes, odděl od těch, kdo si k pití kleknou.“

7:5  Nechal tedy sestoupit lid k vodě a Hospodin Gedeónovi řekl: Každého, kdo bude chlemtat vodu jazykem, tak jako chlemtá pes, toho postavíš zvlášť a také každého, kdo si klekne k pití na kolena.

7:5  I kázal sstoupiti lidu k vodám, a řekl Hospodin k Gedeonovi: Každého, kdož chlemtati bude jazykem svým z vody, jako chlemce pes, postavíš obzvláštně, tolikéž každého, kdož se přisehne na kolena svá ku pití.

7:5  So he brought down the people to the water: and the LORD said to Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink.

7:5  So he brought down the people to the water: and the Lord said to Gideon, "Everyone who laps of the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, him you shall set by himself; likewise everyone who kneels down on his knees to drink."

7:6  And the number of them that had lapped water; casting it with the hand to their mouth, was three hundred men: and all the rest of the multitude had drunk kneeling.

7:6  And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.

7:6  Těch, kteří chlemtali a podávali si vodu rukou k ústům, bylo celkem tři sta mužů. Všechen ostatní lid klekal při pití vody na kolena.

7:6  Tři sta mužů chlemtalo vodu z ruky a všichni ostatní si k pití klekli.

7:6  Počet chlemtajících, kteří si podávali rukou do úst, byl tři sta mužů. Všechen ostatní lid si k pití vody klekl na kolena.

7:6  I byl počet těch, kteříž chlemtali, rukama svýma k ústům svým vodu nosíce, tři sta mužů, ostatek pak všeho lidu sehnuli se na kolena svá ku pití vody.

7:6  And the number of them that lapped, [putting] their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.

7:7  And the Lord said to Gedeon: By the three hundred men, that lapped water, I will save you, and deliver Madian into thy hand: but let all the rest of the people return to their place.

7:7  And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

7:7  Hospodin řekl Gedeónovi: „Třemi sty muži, kteří chlemtali, vás vysvobodím a vydám ti Midjánce do rukou. Všechen ostatní lid ať odejde, každý do svého domova.“

7:7  Hospodin řekl Gedeonovi: „S těmi třemi sty muži, kteří chlemtali, vás zachráním a vydám ti Midiánce do rukou. Zbytek vojska může jít domů.“

7:7  Nato Hospodin Gedeónovi řekl: Prostřednictvím těch tří set chlemtajících mužů vás zachráním a vydám Midjánce do tvé ruky. Všechen lid ať odejde, každý do svého domova.

7:7  I řekl Hospodin Gedeonovi: Ve třech stech mužů, kteříž chlemtali, vysvobodím vás, a vydám Madianské v ruku tvou, ale ostatek všeho lidu nechť se vrátí, jeden každý k místu svému.

7:7  And the LORD said to Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thy hand: and let all the [other] people go every man to his place.

7:7  The Lord said to Gideon, "By the three hundred men who lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand; and let all the people go every man to his home."

7:7  And the LORD said to Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand: and let all the other people go every man to his place.

7:7  Et ait Dominus ad Gedeon : In trecentis viris qui lambuerunt aquas, liberabo vos, et tradam in manu tua Madian : omnis autem reliqua multitudo revertatur in locum suum.

7:8  So taking victuals and trumpets according to their number, he ordered all the rest of the multitude to depart to their tents: and he with the three hundred gave himself to the battle. Now the camp of Madia was beneath him in the valley.

7:8  So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.

7:8  Lid si tedy nabral příděl potravy a svoje polnice a Gedeón propustil všechny izraelské muže, každého k jeho stanu; jen těch tři sta si podržel. Tábor Midjánců ležel pod ním v dolině.

7:8  Gedeon tedy poslal zbytek Izraelců domů a ponechal si jen těch tři sta mužů. Ti převzali od zbytku vojska jejich zásoby a beraní rohy. Midiánský tábor ležel dole v údolí.

7:8  Ti, kdo zůstali, si vzali s sebou zásobu potravin lidu a jejich beraní rohy. Všechny izraelské muže poslal pryč, každého k jeho stanům. Podržel si jenom tři sta mužů. Midjánský tábor byl pod ním v údolí.

7:8  A protož nabral ten lid v ruce své potravy a trouby své; jiné pak muže Izraelské všecky propustil, jednoho každého do stanů jejich, toliko tři sta těch mužů zanechal při sobě. Vojska pak Madianských ležela pod ním v údolí.

7:8  So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent of all [the rest of] Israel every man to his tent, and retained those three hundred men. And the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.

7:8  So the people took food in their hand, and their trumpets; and he sent all the men of Israel every man to his tent, but retained the three hundred men. And the camp of Midian was beneath him in the valley.

7:8  Sumptis itaque pro numero cibariis et tubis, omnem reliquam multitudinem abire præcepit ad tabernacula sua : et ipse cum trecentis viris se certamini dedit. Castra autem Madian erant subter in valle.

7:9  The same night the Lord said to him: Arise, and go down into the camp: because I have delivered them into thy hand.

7:9  And it came to pass the same night, that the Lord said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand.

7:9  Té noci mu Hospodin poručil: „Ihned sestup do tábora nepřátel, neboť jsem ti je vydal do rukou.

7:9  Té noci Hospodin řekl Gedeonovi: „Vstaň a sejdi do tábora, neboť jsem ti ho vydal do rukou.

7:9  I stalo se oné noci, že mu Hospodin řekl: Vstaň, sestup do tábora, protože jsem ti ho vydal do ruky.

7:9  And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said to him, Arise, go down to the host; for I have delivered it into thy hand.

7:10  But if thou be afraid to go alone, let Phara, thy servant, go down with thee.

7:10  Jestliže se bojíš sestoupit sám, sestup do tábora se svým mládencem Púrou.

7:10  Bojíš-li se tam jít sám, vezmi si s sebou zbrojnoše Puru.

7:10  A pokud se bojíš sestoupit sám, sestup do tábora se svým služebníkem Púrou

7:10  Pakli nesmíš sjíti sám, sejdi s Půrou služebníkem svým do vojska,

7:11  And when thou shalt hear what they are saying, then shall thy hands be strengthened, and thou shalt go down more secure to the enemies' camp. And he went down with Phara his servant, into part of the camp, where was the watch of men in arms.

7:11  And thou shalt hear what they say; and afterward shall thine hands be strengthened to go down unto the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant unto the outside of the armed men that were in the host.

7:11  Uslyšíš, o čem budou mluvit. Pak jednej rozhodně a vtrhni dolů do tábora.“ Gedeón sestoupil se svým mládencem Púrou k vojenským hlídkám na pokraji tábora.

7:11  Až uslyšíš, co si v táboře říkají, osmělíš se k útoku.“ Sešel tedy se svým zbrojnošem Purou až k ozbrojeným hlídkám na kraji tábora.

7:11  a uslyšíš, co budou mluvit. Potom se posilní tvé ruce a sestoupíš do tábora. Sestoupil tedy on i jeho služebník Púra ke kraji ⌈vojenských oddílů,⌉ které byly v táboře.

7:11  A uslyšíš, co mluviti budou; i posilní se z toho ruce tvé, tak že směle půjdeš proti vojsku tomu. Sstoupil tedy on a Půra služebník jeho k kraji oděnců, kteříž byli v vojště.

7:11  And thou shalt hear what they say; and afterward shall thy hands be strengthened to go down to the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant to the outside of the armed men that [were] in the host.

7:11  and you shall hear what they say; and afterward will your hands be strengthened to go down into the camp." Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outermost part of the armed men who were in the camp.

7:11  And you shall hear what they say; and afterward shall your hands be strengthened to go down to the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant to the outside of the armed men that were in the host.

7:11  Et cum audieris quid loquantur, tunc confortabuntur manus tuæ, et securior ad hostium castra descendes. Descendit ergo ipse et Phara puer ejus in partem castrorum, ubi erant armatorum vigiliæ.

7:12  But Madian and Amalec, and all the eastern people, lay scattered in the valley, as a multitude of locusts: their camels also were innumerable, as the sand that lieth on the sea shore.

7:12  And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.

7:12  Midjánci s Amálekem a se všemi syny východu leželi totiž v dolině v takovém množství jako kobylky, i jejich velbloudů byl bezpočet, takové množství jako písku na mořském břehu.

7:12  Midiánců, Amalekovců a všech východních národů leželo v údolí jako kobylek! I jejich velbloudů bylo bezpočtu, jako je písku na břehu moře.

7:12  And the Midianites, and the Amalekites, and all the children of the east, lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels [were] without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.

7:12  The Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley as numerous as locusts; and their camels were without number, as numerous as the sand which is on the seashore.

7:12  And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.

7:12  Madian autem et Amalec, et omnes orientales populi, fusi jacebant in valle, ut locustarum multitudo : cameli quoque innumerabiles erant, sicut arena quæ jacet in littore maris.

7:13  And when Gedeon was come, one told his neighbour a dream: and in this manner related what he had seen: I dreamt a dream, and it seemed to me as if a hearth cake of barley bread rolled and came down into the camp of Madian: and when it was come to a tent, it struck it, and beat it down flat to the ground.

7:13  And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.

7:13  Gedeón přišel, právě když jeden druhému vyprávěl sen. Povídal: „Považ, jaký jsem to měl sen! Na midjánský tábor se valil pecen ječného chleba; přivalil se ke stanu a vrazil do něho, až padl, úplně jej převrátil, že stan zůstal ležet.“

7:13  Jakmile Gedeon přišel, zaslechl, jak jeden voják vypráví druhému svůj sen: „Víš, zdál se mi takový sen: Viděl jsem, jak se na midiánský tábor valil pecen ječného chleba. Dostal se až ke stanu a vrazil do něj tak, že ho převrátil vzhůru nohama a zbořil.“

7:13  Gedeón přišel a hle, muž vypráví svému příteli sen. Říkal: Poslyš, měl jsem sen a v něm se valí pecen ječného chleba na midjánský tábor až ke stanu a udeřil do něj, až spadl, převrátil ho vzhůru nohama a ten stan se zhroutil.

7:13  A když přišel Gedeon, aj, jeden vypravoval bližnímu svému sen, a řekl: Hle, zdálo mi se, že pecen chleba ječmenného valil se do vojska Madianského, a přivaliv se na každý stan, udeřil na něj, až padl, a podvrátil jej svrchu, a tak ležel každý stan.

7:13  And when Gideon had come, behold, [there was] a man that told a dream to his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and lo, a cake of barley-bread rolled into the host of Midian, and came to a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it that the tent lay along.

7:13  When Gideon had come, behold, there was a man telling a dream to his friend; and he said, "Behold, I had a dream, and behold, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian, and came to the tent, and struck it so that it fell, and turned it upside down, so that the tent collapsed."

7:13  And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream to his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, see, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came to a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.

7:20  Tři oddíly najednou zatroubily na polnice a rozbily džbány; do levé ruky uchopili pochodně, do pravé polnice, aby troubili, a zvolali: „Meč za Hospodina a za Gedeóna!“

7:22  Zatímco tři sta mužů troubilo na polnice, Hospodin obrátil v celém táboře meč jednoho proti druhému; tábor se dal na útěk do Bét-šity směrem k Seréře a k ábelmechólskému břehu naproti Tabatu.

7:22  Jakmile zatroubilo těch tři sta beraních rohů, Hospodin po celém táboře obrátil meč jednoho muže proti druhému. Celé to vojsko se dalo na útěk směrem k Bet-šitě, směrem na Cereru, až ke břehu u Abel-mecholy naproti Tabatu.

7:22  Tři sta beraních rohů troubilo a Hospodin obrátil meč ⌈jednoho proti druhému,⌉ a to v celém táboře. Tábor utíkal až do Bét–šity k Seréře, až k břehu Ábel–mechóly u Tabbátu.

7:22  Když pak troubilo v trouby těch tři sta mužů, obrátil Hospodin meč jednoho proti druhému, a to po všem ležení. Utíkalo tedy vojsko až k Betseta do Zererat, a až ku pomezí Abelmehula u Tebat.

7:22  And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Beth-shittah in Zereroth, [and] to the border of Abel-meholah, to Tabbath.

7:25  And having taken two men of Madian, Oreb and Zeb: Oreb they slew in the rock of Oreb, and Zeb in the winepress of Zeb. And they pursued Madian, carrying the heads of Oreb and Zeb to Gedeon, beyond the waters of the Jordan.

7:25  And they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb; and they slew Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and Zeeb they slew at the winepress of Zeeb, and pursued Midian, and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side Jordan.

7:25  Přitom zajali dva midjánské velmože, Oréba (to je Havrana) a Zéba (to je Vlka). Oréba zabili na Havraní skále a Zéba zabili ve Vlčím lisu, a pronásledovali Midjánce. Hlavu Orébovu a Zébovu přinesli Gedeónovi za Jordán.

7:25  Pronásledovali Midiánce a zajali dva jejich velitele, Oreba (totiž Havrana) a Zeeba (totiž Vlka). Oreba popravili u Havraní skály a Zeeba u Vlčího lisu. Orebovu a Zeebovu hlavu pak přinesli Gedeonovi na druhou stranu Jordánu.

7:25  Přitom zajali dvě midjánská knížata, Óréba a Zéba. Oréba zabili na Cúr Órébu a Zéba zabili v Jekeb Zébu. Pronásledovali Midjánce a hlavu Óréba a Zéba přinesli Gedeónovi přes Jordán.

7:25  A chytili dvé knížat Madianských, Goréba a Zéba. I zabili Goréba na skále Goréb a Zéba zabili v lisu Zéb, a honili Madianské, hlavu pak Gorébovu a Zébovu přinesli k Gedeonovi za Jordán.
