Chapter 143
Psal DRC 143:1  Blessed be the Lord my God, who teacheth my hands to fight, and my fingers to war.
Psal VulgClem 143:1  Psalmus David. Adversus Goliath. Benedictus Dominus Deus meus, qui docet manus meas ad prælium, et digitos meos ad bellum.
Psal KJV 143:1  Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
Psal DRC 143:2  My mercy, and my refuge: my support, and my deliverer: My protector, and I have hoped in him: who subdueth my people under me.
Psal VulgClem 143:2  Misericordia mea et refugium meum ; susceptor meus et liberator meus ; protector meus, et in ipso speravi, qui subdit populum meum sub me.
Psal KJV 143:2  And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
Psal DRC 143:3  Lord, what is man, that thou art made known to him? or the son of man, that thou makest account of him?
Psal VulgClem 143:3  Domine, quid est homo, quia innotuisti ei ? aut filius hominis, quia reputas eum ?
Psal KJV 143:3  For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
Psal DRC 143:4  Man is like to vanity: his days pass away like a shadow.
Psal VulgClem 143:4  Homo vanitati similis factus est ; dies ejus sicut umbra prætereunt.
Psal KJV 143:4  Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.
Psal DRC 143:5  Lord, bow down thy heavens and descend: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
Psal VulgClem 143:5  Domine, inclina cælos tuos, et descende ; tange montes, et fumigabunt.
Psal KJV 143:5  I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
Psal DRC 143:6  Send forth lightning, and thou shalt scatter them: shoot out thy arrows, and thou shalt trouble them.
Psal VulgClem 143:6  Fulgura coruscationem, et dissipabis eos ; emitte sagittas tuas, et conturbabis eos.
Psal KJV 143:6  I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
Psal DRC 143:7  Put forth thy hand from on high, take me out, and deliver me from many waters: from the hand of strange children:
Psal VulgClem 143:7  Emitte manum tuam de alto : eripe me, et libera me de aquis multis, de manu filiorum alienorum :
Psal KJV 143:7  Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
Psal DRC 143:8  Whose mouth hath spoken vanity: and their right hand is the right hand of iniquity.
Psal VulgClem 143:8  quorum os locutum est vanitatem, et dextera eorum dextera iniquitatis.
Psal KJV 143:8  Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
Psal DRC 143:9  To thee, O God, I will sing a new canticle: on the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings I will sing praises to thee.
Psal VulgClem 143:9  Deus, canticum novum cantabo tibi ; in psalterio decachordo psallam tibi.
Psal KJV 143:9  Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.
Psal DRC 143:10  Who givest salvation to kings: who hast redeemed thy servant David from the malicious sword:
Psal VulgClem 143:10  Qui das salutem regibus, qui redemisti David servum tuum de gladio maligno,
Psal KJV 143:10  Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
Psal DRC 143:11  Deliver me, And rescue me out of the hand of strange children; whose mouth hath spoken vanity: and their right hand is the right hand of iniquity:
Psal VulgClem 143:11  eripe me, et erue me de manu filiorum alienorum, quorum os locutum est vanitatem, et dextera eorum dextera iniquitatis.
Psal KJV 143:11  Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name’s sake: for thy righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.
Psal DRC 143:12  Whose sons are as new plants in their youth: Their daughters decked out, adorned round about after the similitude of a temple:
Psal VulgClem 143:12  Quorum filii sicut novellæ plantationes in juventute sua ; filiæ eorum compositæ, circumornatæ ut similitudo templi.
Psal KJV 143:12  And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.
Psal DRC 143:13  Their storehouses full, flowing out of this into that. Their sheep fruitful in young, abounding in their goings forth:
Psal VulgClem 143:13  Promptuaria eorum plena, eructantia ex hoc in illud ; oves eorum fœtosæ, abundantes in egressibus suis ;

Psal DRC 143:14  Their oxen fat. There is no breach of wall, nor passage, nor crying out in their streets.

Psal DRC 143:15  They have called the people happy, that hath these things: but happy is that people whose God is the Lord.
