16:1  The prayer of David. Hear, O Lord, my justice: attend to my supplication. Give ear unto my prayer, which proceedeth not from deceitful lips.

16:2  Pravím Hospodinu: „Ty jsi, Panovníku, moje dobro, nad tebe není.“

16:3  Thou hast proved my heart, and visited it by night, thou hast tried me by fire: and iniquity hath not been found in me.

16:3  But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

16:3  Svatým, těm, kteří jsou v této zemi, pravím, těm vznešeným, jež jsem si oblíbil nade všechno:

16:3  Říkám o zbožných lidech na zemi: Jsou tak vznešení, mám je nejradši!

16:3  Co se týče svatých, kteří jsou na zemi: Ti jsou vznešení. Mám v nich velké zalíbení.

16:3  Ale svatým, kteříž jsou na zemi, a znamenitým, v nichž všecka líbost má.

16:4  „Útrapy si rozmnožují, kdo běhají za jinými bohy. Ani trochu krve v úlitbu jim nedám, jejich jméno nepřejde mi přes rty.“

16:4  Kdo ale za cizími bohy spěchají, ti jen rozmnožují svá trápení! Nezúčastním se jejich krvavé úlitby, nevstoupí jejich jméno na mé rty!

16:4  Bolesti si rozmnožují ti, kdo běhají za jinými bohy. Těm jejich krvavé úlitby nepřinesu. Jejich jména si ani nevezmu na rty.

16:4  Rozmnožují bolesti své ti, kteříž k cizímu bohu chvátají; neokusím obětí jejich ze krve, aniž vezmu jména jejich ve rty své.

16:9  Z té příčiny rozveselilo se srdce mé, a zplésala sláva má, ano i tělo mé v bezpečnosti přebývati bude.

16:11  Stezku života mi dáváš poznat; vrcholem radosti je být s tebou, ve tvé pravici je neskonalé blaho.

16:11  Stezku života jsi mi ukázal, ve tvé přítomnosti je plnost radosti, nekonečné blaho je po tvé pravici!

16:11  Známou učiníš mi cestu života; sytost hojného veselí jest před oblíčejem tvým, a dokonalé utěšení po pravici tvé až na věky.

16:14  From the enemies of thy hand. O Lord, divide them from the few of the earth in their life: their belly is filled from thy hidden stores. They are full of children: and they have left to their little ones the rest of their substance.

16:15  But as for me, I will appear before thy sight in justice: I shall be satisfied when thy glory shall appear.
