Chapter 17
Job DRC 17:1  My spirit shall be wasted, my days shall be shortened and only the grave remaineth for me.
Job KJV 17:1  My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves are ready for me.
Job VulgClem 17:1  Spiritus meus attenuabitur ; dies mei breviabuntur : et solum mihi superest sepulchrum.
Job DRC 17:2  I have not sinned, and my eye abideth in bitterness.
Job KJV 17:2  Are there not mockers with me? and doth not mine eye continue in their provocation?
Job VulgClem 17:2  Non peccavi, et in amaritudinibus moratur oculus meus.
Job DRC 17:3  Deliver me, O Lord, and set me beside thee, and let any man's hand fight against me.
Job KJV 17:3  Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?

Job DRC 17:4  Thou hast set their heart far from understanding, therefore they shall not be exalted.
Job KJV 17:4  For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt them.
Job VulgClem 17:4  Cor eorum longe fecisti a disciplina : propterea non exaltabuntur.
Job DRC 17:5  He promiseth a prey to his companions, and the eyes of his children shall fail.
Job KJV 17:5  He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.

Job DRC 17:6  He hath made me as it were a byword of the people, and I am an example before them.

Job DRC 17:7  My eye is dim through indignation, and my limbs are brought as it were to nothing.
Job KJV 17:7  Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members are as a shadow.
Job VulgClem 17:7  Caligavit ab indignatione oculus meus, et membra mea quasi in nihilum redacta sunt.
Job DRC 17:8  The just shall be astonished at this, and the innocent shall be raised up against the hypocrite.
Job KJV 17:8  Upright men shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.
Job VulgClem 17:8  Stupebunt justi super hoc, et innocens contra hypocritam suscitabitur.
Job DRC 17:9  And the just man shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
Job KJV 17:9  The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.
Job VulgClem 17:9  Et tenebit justus viam suam, et mundis manibus addet fortitudinem.
Job DRC 17:10  Wherefore be you all converted, and come, and I shall not find among you any wise man.
Job KJV 17:10  But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find one wise man among you.
Job VulgClem 17:10  Igitur omnes vos convertimini, et venite, et non inveniam in vobis ullum sapientem.
Job DRC 17:11  My days have passed away, my thoughts are dissipated, tormenting my heart.
Job KJV 17:11  My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.
Job VulgClem 17:11  Dies mei transierunt ; cogitationes meæ dissipatæ sunt, torquentes cor meum.
Job DRC 17:12  They have turned night into day, and after darkness I hope for light again.
Job KJV 17:12  They change the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.
Job VulgClem 17:12  Noctem verterunt in diem, et rursum post tenebras spero lucem.
Job DRC 17:13  If I wait hell is my house, and I have made my bed in darkness.
Job KJV 17:13  If I wait, the grave is mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness.
Job VulgClem 17:13  Si sustinuero, infernus domus mea est, et in tenebris stravi lectulum meum.
Job DRC 17:14  I have said to rottenness: Thou art my father; to worms, my mother and my sister.
Job KJV 17:14  I have said to corruption, Thou art my father: to the worm, Thou art my mother, and my sister.
Job VulgClem 17:14  Putredini dixi : Pater meus es ; Mater mea, et soror mea, vermibus.
Job DRC 17:15  Where is now then my expectation, and who considereth my patience?
Job KJV 17:15  And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?
Job VulgClem 17:15  Ubi est ergo nunc præstolatio mea ? et patientiam meam quis considerat ?
Job DRC 17:16  All that I have shall go down into the deepest pit: thinkest thou that there at least I shall have rest?
Job KJV 17:16  They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when our rest together is in the dust.
Job VulgClem 17:16  In profundissimum infernum descendent omnia mea : putasne saltem ibi erit requies mihi ?
