Chapter 35
Job DRC 35:1  Moreover Eliu spoke these words:
Job VulgClem 35:1  Igitur Eliu hæc rursum locutus est :
Job KJV 35:1  Elihu spake moreover, and said,
Job DRC 35:2  Doth thy thought seem right to thee, that thou shouldst say: I am more just than God?
Job VulgClem 35:2  Numquid æqua tibi videtur tua cogitatio, ut diceres : Justior sum Deo ?
Job KJV 35:2  Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God’s?
Job DRC 35:3  For thou saidst: That which is right doth not please thee: or what will it profit thee if I sin?
Job KJV 35:3  For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?
Job DRC 35:4  Therefore I will answer thy words, and thy friends with thee.
Job VulgClem 35:4  Itaque ego respondebo sermonibus tuis, et amicis tuis tecum.
Job KJV 35:4  I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
Job DRC 35:5  Look up to heaven and see, and behold the sky, that it is higher than thee.
Job KJV 35:5  Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
Job DRC 35:6  If thou sin, what shalt thou hurt him? and if thy iniquities be multiplied, what shalt thou do against him?
Job VulgClem 35:6  Si peccaveris, quid ei nocebis ? et si multiplicatæ fuerint iniquitates tuæ, quid facies contra eum ?
Job KJV 35:6  If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
Job DRC 35:7  And if thou do justly, what shalt thou give him, or what shall he receive of thy hand?
Job KJV 35:7  If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
Job DRC 35:8  Thy wickedness may hurt a man that is like thee: and thy justice may help the son of man.
Job KJV 35:8  Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
Job DRC 35:9  By reason of the multitude of oppressors they shall cry out: and shall wail for the violence of the arm of tyrants.
Job VulgClem 35:9  Propter multitudinem calumniatorum clamabunt, et ejulabunt propter vim brachii tyrannorum.
Job KJV 35:9  By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
Job DRC 35:10  And he hath not said: Where is God, who made me, who hath given songs in the night?
Job VulgClem 35:10  Et non dixit : Ubi est Deus qui fecit me, qui dedit carmina in nocte ;
Job KJV 35:10  But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
Job DRC 35:11  Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and instructeth us more than the fowls of the air.
Job VulgClem 35:11  qui docet nos super jumenta terræ, et super volucres cæli erudit nos ?
Job KJV 35:11  Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
Job DRC 35:12  There shall they cry, and he will not hear, because of the pride of evil men.
Job KJV 35:12  There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
Job DRC 35:13  God therefore will not hear in vain, and the Almighty will look into the causes of every one.
Job VulgClem 35:13  Non ergo frustra audiet Deus, et Omnipotens causas singulorum intuebitur.
Job KJV 35:13  Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
Job DRC 35:14  Yea, when thou shalt say: He considereth not: be judged before him, and expect him.
Job KJV 35:14  Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
Job DRC 35:15  For he doth not now bring on his fury, neither doth he revenge wickedness exceedingly.
Job KJV 35:15  But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:
Job DRC 35:16  Therefore Job openeth his mouth in vain, and multiplieth words without knowledge.
Job VulgClem 35:16  Ergo Job frustra aperit os suum, et absque scientia verba multiplicat.
Job KJV 35:16  Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
